Newly refurbished and clean. Great beds and crisp clean linen, excellent pillows. Friendly staff at reception.

A really nice place, we’ve stayed here many times before the new ownership and refurb. Unfortunately it was really let down by the (somewhat overpriced) pretty average breakfast menu, and “smart” attitude from a particular staff member in the restaurant. It really ruined the whole experience to the point where we just left and went to Swells in Jan Juc (Where the food, prices, atmosphere and staff were awesome BTW)

the staff were so so lovely. so polite and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Little things but true kindness! also the on site golf facilities, as well as well equipped state of the art gym equipment and a tennis court too. lots of activities going on.

The only tiny things if I was being really picky, would be when we had breakfast other customers dogs were at our table while we were trying to eat breakfast, that’s not the hotels fault but if Pets are allowed, maybe asking for them to be with their owners when in the restaurant part. and the beds were twins pushed together, so there was a bit of a dip in the middle, but fine for a night.

Very comfortable room, I loved the large balcony, bed and shower. Pool and gym were nice. Beautiful scenery and close proximity to the beach.

I had an issue with the staff at check out and was annoyed that they hadn’t tried to contact me earlier in my stay rather than dealing with it at the last minute. The staff at reception desk didn’t know what was going on with their booking system and failed to take ownership of the problem when I was clearly upset. Unfortunately this left a sour taste in my mouth at the end of what would have been a beautiful stay.

We’ve stayed there twice before but this was our first time taking our dog. The hotel is now providing pet friendly rooms which are much more expensive but we felt worth the effort. The dining areas which we used outside were well appointed and fortunately we had warm weather.

The yard area set aside for our dog was muddy and she’s a cavoodle and we discovered she was able to fit through the fencing. We were also dismayed that the swimming pool is used for swimming lessons for children and no lane was available for guests twice when my husband wanted to swim. There was nowhere to have dinner in the hotel after 5pm! Watch out for the mosquitoes.

Nicely refurbished rooms and the whole property has a relaxing holiday feel to it. The reception, golf and gym staff were exceptional!

The breakfast restaurant was well overpriced, $24 for something that we could have whipped up at home, for that price we were expecting a decent sized plate but it was quite small- for the hollandaise and avo smash. There were a few dirty tables even though not many customers and 3 staff, would recommend the cleanliness of the restaurant be improved so it's in line with the rest of the hotel.

There were nice touches as we had our small cavoodle. She received 3 dig biscuits, a poo bag and a ball. Room with a large water bowl and a secure small area for her to sniff. A four minute walk to the dog friendly beach. Beautiful beach that goes forever. There are also tennis courts, swimming pool, gym so everything you might want.

We went to dinner as part of the golf course and overlooking the course. Very noisy as lots a children running riot. Worst $48.00 Angus steak we have ever eaten. Sent back the first as we wanted rare. Shouldn't have wasted our time as chewy, sinewy and just bad. The couple sitting next to us totally agreed.

We had an event at the RACV club Torquay and were looking for (cheaper) alternative accomodation. The Sands did the trick. Luckily we had our own transport to get back, but the front desk did give us a number to call if we needed a lift. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The cleaner had obviously just wiped around the soap bottle by the sink, as the rings were still on the counter! Also I did not find the pillows comfortable - I would recommend bringing own if possible.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and very comfortable. We had a view of the course and it is a close walk to the beach but also has an indoor pool which we used. It was a great stay.

The outdoor patio furniture was covered in bird poo. We just moved the indoor chairs outside to still enjoy our afternoon.

Lovely furnishings, friendly staff & great facilities. We were staying to attend Rod Stewart at Mt Duneed and upon being the first to check in just as his cancellation had dropped the staff were brilliant. They organised a musician to come in and entertain us all, staff worked excess hours & came in on their day off etc all to help out with the influx of guests that would now be eating tea on site etc. The atmosphere the dining staff created was electric and we were SO appreciative of everything they did for us. Thank You!!!

Just a great place to stay.

The cleaners changed sheets but didn't wash the floor or vacuum the carpet. Not a real issue but for what we paid I would have expected a proper clean.
