We are Perth residents and regular visitors to Margaret River. We were unable to secure our usual accommodation so it was our first visit to Margaret River Motel. We were very warmly greeted at Reception and pleasantly surprised by the spacious room recently renovated with a nod to its turn of the twentieth century heritage. The grounds are generous and retain an old world charm with an abundance of wildlife, given its location just walking distance west of the centre of town. Indeed the atmosphere belies its motel description. A bonus for us was the appearance at dusk of a Western ringtail possum, carrying her baby on her back. We watched her feeding close to our window, totally unconcerned by our starstruck photographing of her!

Renovations by the new owners are ongoing, so we are looking forward to the further upgrades to public areas. It did not impact on us at all, as the centre of town with its many restaurants and cafes are within walking distance, and our room itself was light filled, newly decorated and spacious. It is already charming, and we hope that the project when completed will continue to retain its genteel personality of yesteryear. We can wholeheartedly recommend a stay there.

Great location, right next to the main strip. Easy check in and parking right outside the room. Everything is no contact. I had breakfast included with stay and supplies of cereal, fresh bread, orange juice, jam butter was waiting in my room. Large sized room, with couch and coffee table. Access to the front and back of room with outside seating area in front of each room. Great base to explore the south west of WA.

One main thing i hope for in a booking is a decent shower.... this place was let down on the shower in my room- it trickled out and was not wanted i wanted after long days exploring.

Beautiful surroundings, clean comfortable room plenty space. Great bar fridge coffee tea and hot chocolate and milk and bottles of water supplied. Great spa and bathroom facilities with lovely shampoo, body wash and soap available in bathroom, tv and aircon/heater. Gardens make you feel like you are in the lovely bush surroundings. We even had a gorgeous possum come down from the tree to say hello. Lovely front desk staff. Comfortable bed and outdoor chairs and table

Could have had a couple of extra bath towels only because it was cold and they didn’t dry well.

My husband & I decided on a weekend away. We didn't see any staff during stay. Key in locked box left for us, instructions eg key code etc sent in txt. At checkout, again drop off box. Room clean, everything needed. View to tennis court, just window views, no prob. Disappointed that the spa in room not working, in need of maintenance. We were looking fwd to a spa after long drive. Handy to walk to main street. Pressure in water pretty poor.

Room was very tidy and presentable on arrival. The grounds itself were well kept and also very tidy and presentable. Central location to Margaret rivers centre hub which was very convenient. All things were in walking distance. Was also a very handy information booklet in our room which helped guide us on our travels during our stay. Will definitely be staying again.

There wasn't very much to dislike about the place this time around. Perhaps next visit, we may notice a difference.

Great location, 5 mins away from the town Center. The key collect process is straight forward as well as fast, basically there is a key box locked by code and you receive it via SMS. The room is spacious and really comfortable, also you can park your car right before it which is very convenient.

The only negative thing that I've noticed is the spa which is out of use due to maintenance, this is no drama but it would have been nice if it had worked.

Spacious with kitchen. Very clean. Friendly staff. Close to town. Quiet area.

We had unit 26. At about 10.30pm a motor like sound started which vibrated through the entire unit. It was very loud and annoying to get to sleep. Was it someone using the laundry or a spa tub? There needs to be a time limit eg 6pm for laundry. I tried to tell reception when leaving but reception was closed. This spoiled a great stay.

The room and facilities were lovely for the age and the romantic, antique wooden styling softened the rooms and gave a nice feeling. The basic utensils and crockery, along with the large rubbish bin and microwave, great addition.

Pool could be open longer. Main gripe was no human/staff contact. Arrive-Pick up key from a box, leave, put key in the box. Did not see anyone….except the cleaners waiting to clean our room when we left. A little sad and disappointing.

The location of this motel was great, quiet enough to be away from the busy main street, but an easy walk to restaurants and bars etc. The room we had was huge, with a big king bed which was so comfortable. The furnishings and bathroom were a little dated, but clean and tidy and all we needed. We had a great outdoor verandah at the back, with a table and chairs, accessed by a rear door of the room.

There wasn't anything I can think of to complain about.

This is a little gem, great value, good location, decent size room, nice layout of room (has everything). The photos on the Web make it look more dated than it is in real life I guess being darker wood inside but the furnishings are pretty nice actually. I definitely recommend this motel.

The bed is a bit harder than used too (much better than other locations in the area mind you)
