The location in Ghent is ideal. We were in Room 1 and were wowed by our view…Bie and Pascal definitely named their “hotel” accurately. There is a stunning view from every window; canals, bridges and historic buildings seemed to have been strategically built around us. We were also thrilled that when the windows are opened, the city and neighborhood sounds as well as the natural breeze intermingle, but as soon as we closed the windows in the late evenings, it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Ghent is a very walkable city and “Rooms With a View” is perfectly located to permit daytime and evening walks along the canals and ancient streets, with very limited car and truck traffic. We also chose to make Ghent our home base to explore Brugge and surrounding areas, which we would do again. Can’t wait to go back.

The 270 degree views from the double aspect rooms are sensational - wonderful to just perch by the window on a long June evening and watch as the light gradually fades and the lights come on. Breakfast was also fabulous with a range of granola/fruit/cheese/ham/ smoked salmon/croissants/breads/fruit/eggs that made lunch redundant. Service was excellent too. There are only 3 rooms, all with the same views, but rooms 1 and 2 have more windows.

Personally, neither of these bothered us, but some may find the large number of people sitting and talking by the water late into the night and the early morning on fine / warm days a bit noisy. Also the stairs up to the rooms are fine for the sure footed, but could be harder for those with mobility or balance weaknesses.

The breakfast was delicious and everything was extremely fresh. We had to leave before the breakfast hour and they served us a half hour early. The strawberries were so sweet! The room was so lovely and the view of the canals in two directions was absolutely amazing. The owner and the staff could not have been nicer.

The only possible issue for some will be the stairs to the room. They are steep and winding. It would not work if travelers have any mobility issues. That said, staff carried our bags up to the room as we arrived early and the room was not yet available. So we didn’t have to navigate the stairs up with our bags.

Our stay at Rooms With A View was fantastic. Everything exceeded our expectations. The view is stunning and the location is unparalleled right in the center of the old city. The room is very comfortable. The staff and owner go above and beyond, always smiling and with kind attentions. And the breakfast! It was just exceptional, for the large selection of fresh products, the service and the quiet setting near the water. We will for sure stay again next time we are in Ghent. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay.

AMAZING location! Amazing room!! AMAZING view! Large room with a large comfy bed with windows and a Juliet balcony, each overlooking the gorgeous canals. Breakfast was also amazing- we picked what we wanted from a long list and you can get as much as you want. It all gets served to you on a beautiful veranda overlooking the canal. We Loved Ghent, and our room was perfect. We 100% WILL BE BACK!! Thank you. It was the highlight of 12 day European trip!

The only bad thing was we didn't stay in Ghent long enough!! while it did NOT bother US, it's a very old, historical building with steep stairs only. No elevator. Just an FYI for anyone unable to do stairs. There is not a single negative for us about this amazing place. We absolutely LOVED it.

The location is exceptional. Heart of the old town with great views and atmosphere. Easy to pop back for sun lotion, to fill water or for facilities. Super breakfast by the river. Comfortable bed.

Slight panic when there was no answer on either phone number when we arrived around half an hour late at 8pm. (Was just a slightly nerve wracking 10 minute wait for the door to be opened). The WiFi didn’t work for us in the first floor room, but phone signal was good enough to watch iplayer etc.

The hotel was absolutely perfect for my wife and I in one room, and my sister and brother-in-law in another room. The hotel only has 3 rooms, so we basically had the hotel to ourselves. The spiral staircase and a room to each floor is an absolutely perfect chance to live in the charming old city of Ghent as the locals did hundreds of years ago. Modern rebuild of each room, plus freebies and the most perfect breakfast just added to us falling in the love with this place. Yea re going to come back and enjoy this hotel and the city for more time. Bie, the owner and manager, plus all of her staff, were just absolutely adorable and super nice. Made the stay even more fun.

Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the river; a wonderful selection of continental treats, and eggs available if you want them alongside the continental offerings. Normally, I'm all set for a full English breakfast, but the granola, fruits, nuts, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, breads and cheese plate were more than enough, washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice and as much coffee as you want! If you are a fan of English Breakfast Tea, make sure you bring your own teabags. If you like mint tea, fruit tea, Earl Grey, no problem, they are all available. All the drinks in your room are included - bottle of wine, couple of bottles of beer, water, soft drinks, tea and coffee - and if you eat there, you get a glass of sparkling wine on the house too!

WiFi was a bit spotty, but this is a very old building and the thick walls can cause the signal to be lost. However - being without the Internet was a nice treat! Note - if you have mobility issues, this property is not for you. The stairs are a narrow spiral, which can be a bit challenging. However, there is no room to put in an elevator as the property is so old, and the spine of the spiral staircase is the mast of a sailing ship, so is protected!

The most unforgettable stay! Our room has 360° stunning view of the neighbourhood. Facing directly the river. The room comes with mini bar with soft drinks, coffee machine and bottle of wine. Comfortable bed clean room with attention to details. Bie and her team are so kind and warm. Our breakfast was luxurious! We were given a list to choose from and it was prepared for us at our choosen time in their beautiful restaurant with fire place. It was a beautiful hearty breakfast! Dinner here was good too. Very deliciously prepared. In the afternoon we had coffee and hot chocolate at the front cafe side walk and watch the world goes by. This B&B is walking distance to all the attractions. Beautiful place. I will definitely come back again!

I only wish toilet has a bidet. Other than that everything else is perfect!

Location close to the centre of Ghent and availability of secure parking near the property. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed with lovely views. Complimentary soft and alcoholic drinks was also a nice touch and appreciated. Freshly prepared breakfast with good choice of options served in the attached restaurant which was also a lovely setting. Bie is a friendly, helpful and accommodating host who made us feel very welcome.

The stairs to the room are steep and may not be suitable for everyone but they are also part of the charm of the building.
