Beyond Yangon was out late night introduction to Siem Reap. We flew in during bad weather and after an aborted landing and circling, waiting for the torrential rain clear, we eventually arrived by our prearranged taxi at the door to the hotel around midnight. The owners live onsite and run the hotel and they were both up to greet us and make our arrival as easy as possible. It’s not the high street but after passing some of the boutique hotels we were glad to be at Beyond Yangon. It’s real Cambodia, with a real Cambodia welcome. All the staff felt genuinely happy to have us there and to be serving us. The politeness was from the heart. The interest in us was genuine and Siem Reap and Beyond Yangon made feel happy to be in Cambodia.

The whole city and the surrounding country side that serves the tourist market have had a hard time over COVID. There are half finished and abandoned hotels and businesses that have lived off whatever they could do to survive. If the city and the hotels need a bit of maintenance, be patient, it will take time.

The staff are friendly and welcoming and always prepared to help you out. Our waitress at breakfast was polite and helpful and offering another coffee before we had to ask. They arranged a tuk tuk when needed. It’s an easy walk to all the main points in Seam Reap.

Like so many in Cambodia and South East Asia in general this hotel has been hard hit by the tourism shutdown during COVID and has some minor maintenance to do.

Conveniently located across the river, located at the hip area of Siem Reap with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Away from the crowded Pub street and night market, yet easily accessible within 5mins walk. If you like a peace of mind, this will be your choice. You will feel safe even coming back at night. The room itself is tastefully decorated. The family is very friendly. They do have a small plunge pool and restaurant attached. Highly recommended if you visiting Siem Reap.

we enjoyed the spacious room, comfortable bed and good air con. we were provided with fresh water and fruit, and the breakfast was very nice. the pool was good. but the best thing about this place was how friendly, caring, attentive and welcoming the family is that owns it.

The house, the area around and the room were all decorated super nicely! A lot of cultural stuff. The room was spacious and had all the necessary furniture, it was also very well cleaned. The pool was also great, clean.

Would be nice if there was the option of brighter lighting

Very nice and hospitable hosts. Room is clean and facilities are in good order. Breakfast is excellent. It’s 5-10 minutes from pub street, has good restaurants right at the corner (150m walk), as well as places to rent a motorbike nearby. And yet it’s quiet so you’ll get a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended.

Clean and comfortable room. The location is excellent, close to many restaurants, bike/motorcycle rental shops, spas, etc. The friendly and chatty family who run the place are always available and seem to really care about their guests.

A mosquito net would be a useful addition.

It's quite a noisy location but you're in a nice spot for bars and restaurants etc
