The central location in Charlottetown is unbeatable, as is the stately ambiance of the Rodd Charlottetown. The rooms are older but comfortable and have charm. It is always a pleasure to eat in the on site restaurant. Staff were helpful and lovely to deal with throughout. I have stayed at the hotel several times now and look forward to my visits.

The room was overly heated - to do with the age of the building and inflexibility of the heating system. It wasn't possible to adjust it in my room. The staff member on duty kindly opened my window and provided a fan, which helped a great deal. He also provided me with an electric kettle to make cups of tea when I asked.

The food was spectacular we ordered breakfast one morning and we went down and had a meal in the restaurant. The corner rooms are a little bit bigger than the other rooms and gave us a little bit more space. They are the same price as the other rooms you just have to request a corner Room. **One thing I learned from hotel hacks is if you need more space use the ironing board we open the ironing board up in the closet and put stuff on it for an extra table. The staff were all excellent and made our stay a great one! I would highly recommend staying here!

There was not anything that I did not like.

Tall ceilings were lovely. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Friendly staff upgraded our room on request. Clean and modern bathroom. Electric fireplace was warm. Jacuzzi and fireplace fan were a bit louder then necessary (older unites I assume). Rooftop seating area and view was lovely.

Mild water damage on the ceiling and wall (exterior wall). No other complaints as the property met all our expectations. Even the pool was clean and bright with lots of windows and high ceiling.

The location was excellent. On site parking was provided yet spaces are limited.

It would be very helpful if there had been a directory in the room. I continually had to contact front desk to ask questions about the location of the pool/sauna/fitness center, the operating hours of those amenities, to get recommendations for local coffee shops and restaurants. For the most part the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, with the exception of the young man working the night I checked in. I arrived very late (11:30pm) and had called the front desk to inquire about an item I needed in my room. I was told to come down to the desk to pick up the item. Being tired after a full day of traveling I would have appreciated the young man delivering the item to my room. The gesture would have elevated my view of their customer service. .

Our first room was a little noisy from a noisy air-conditioner we assumed and the staff kindly changed our room. The staff were lovely at the desk and in the dining room. The food was delicious and we will come again next time we come to PEI I loved the building, old and elegant but up to date in facilities and comfort.

There was nothing that we did not enjoy - we will come again and recommend to all our friends who travel as much as we do.

The hotel is centrally located - we couldn't have asked for a better downtown location. The staff, from the personnel cleaning the room to the front desk were courteous and welcoming. Personnel always said ''hi'' when crossing paths and a man doing routine maintenance work got off his ladder to help us open the door to our room. Great ambiance.

We found the price to be high for the room. Though comfortable, the room was smaller in size.

The room was lovely and the beds comfortable. We did encounter bits of a previous visitor's granola bar (?) crumbs when our feet were bare. When reported to the desk staff they were shocked and very apologetic. I loved the opportunity to sit outside since there had been little opportunity for that during our travels. The ground were very pretty and calming and the parking was easy. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Somehow our reservation got mixed up, having us stay 2 nights instead of 1. The cost of the second night was immediately refunded.

Apart from the crumbs on the floor there was nothing that wasn't to our expectations.

Location was perfect, close to downtown tourist district, and easy to get into. The hotel is a beautiful old hotel, very clean and the beds were super cofortable.

Provincial taxes seem a bit excessive, and car chargers that are never used take up the first few parking stalls, never used once. Rooms are a bit small but everything fits nicely so not a big deal.

This hotel has a great blend of historic charm with modern amenities. The lobby area in particular feels steeped with history (and it is, Queen Elizabeth II stayed here!). The room also has heritage feelings with wooden doors and accents - but a modern bathroom that has clearly undergone recent renovation. I slept great, but my partner did find the beds a little soft. We loved the location - easy to walk to different spots in the historic downtown area. We would stay again.

The pool area does not match the rest of the hotel - it feels like it was forgotten about in the reno. It was clean, and warm to go for an after dinner swim, but it could just use some updates.

This historic hotel has been exceptionally maintained to be consistent with the past without looking dated. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean and have everything you need. Complimentary bottles of water are provided and parking is free. Rooms are cleaned during your stay upon request. The location is within walking distance of all downtown attractions and the staff are very friendly.

Bathrobes in the rooms would be nice but I can’t think of any negatives to this place. If I ever come back to Charlottetown, this is where I’ll stay!
