The Adina is a beautiful new hotel with excellent sized rooms. Super comfy bed, incredible shower with great water pressure, and really lovely shower gel and moisturiser (in large bottle which is more environmentally friendly). Decor was gorgeous and modern with gold fittings and marble counter tops, high ceilings and incredible views. Our room had a kitchenette with a coffee machine too making it feel that bit more luxe. Staff super friendly and 24hr reception.

The onsite parking was very convenient and necessary as there was nothing available on street but it was $29 a night which seemed expensive.

The hotel entrance and lobby. We also liked the wide corridor leading to our room and the room itself was well appointed and comfortable with a super-king sized bed. We liked the bathroom, a good storage area for toiletries which was easily accessible underneath the basin and vanity area, a bathroom night light which was great and an excellent double shower fitting. The restaurant and Olivine wine bar were both very nice, beautifully fitted out and we had an excellent dinner there with family.

Cold draught through window as seal was not good. We had to place a cardboard strip - very bad for a new hotel. No facilities for breakfast except at the weekend. Despite staying for 7 nights one staff member told us that we shouldn't access the hotel from Pentridge through the side doorway as she said it was 'only for people drinking at the wine bar'. Others didn't object - they should all be on the same page.

The location is a fascinating landmark in Melbourne as well the hotel as has an excellent little shopping centre within a stone's throw which also has a Palace Cinema upstairs. The bed was really comfortable with a great selection of pillows to suit a fussy head and I had great views of Melbourne city from the apartment. Once the restaurant in the hotel itself opens there won't be much more that you'd need for a very comfortable stay in a suburb that has easy access to public transport and or a gateway into or out of Melbourne if you are driving from interstate.

Parking cost of $29 per night is pretty hefty given the nightly room price.

Our one bedroom apartment was stunning, had everything we needed, great views. We arrived really early 10am, our apparment was ready and we were able to check in this was brilliant so many places make you wait till 2 pm. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there for you, nothing to much trouble. Bed was super comfortable as was the couch. Washing machine and dryer, dish washer, large fridge everything thing for an easy stay.

No real negatives You had to pay for parking on premises, but there was plenty of free parking surrounding the property.

We loved the location and the character of the old Pentridge prison. We had a nice view and the room was clean and comfortable with great facilities and amenities. Close to shops and restaurants and the parking was easy.

The restaurant on site wasn't opened for breakfast or lunch for half the time we were there and we found it challenging to find somewhere there to get a coffee before 8:00am. Also when we booked we expected free WiFi as advertised but it's only free for the first 24 hours then you have to pay $9.95 to have it for the duration of your stay.

Everything went well. Ease of booking in, finding the place, staff were lovely and accommodating in the restaurant and the prison for drinks and nibbles.. Great experience with being able to wander around inside the massive walls of the prison and look at everything. Added extra having the shopping centre incorporated in it as well as the movie theatre and the amazing playground.

Maybe a small pamphlet in the room on how to operate the tv remote would be helpful.

The location is excellent as it is close to the train and even closer to the tram. There is also a shopping area close by with several eating places and a small supermarket. We also visited the Pentridge history display and an art gallery in the complex. Sydney Road is a wonderful source of eateries also. The large full-length mirror is such a boon, and the coat hangers that can be removed from the rail are great. I find those attached to the rail really painful to deal with. I also liked that the hairdryer was not attached to the wall. We had three studios and one small apartment, all of which were good value - size, bed, towels etc. were fine.

The booking.com information was inaccurate. There are no bathrobes and slippers. The reception staff were very apologetic about the mistake, which should be rectified on this and another site I checked. I really dislike having no beside reading lamps.

The views to both the north and south are exceptional. The staff are very friendly and professional, especially Sophie who I felt remembered my name from my very first visit and made my weekly stays feel like a home away from home. The Pentridge precinct is fabulous with little reminders of the sites past scattered everywhere. The Merri Creek trail is perfect for those who like to run and the train line and trams are only metres away.

I don't like the fact that my work near the Adina is now complete and my weekly stays have come to an end.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was beautifully appointed, and the history of the hotel makes for a unique experience. The hotel is set within walking distance of a small shopping centre with cafes, bars and playground that is very convenient.

The ad showed a pool but upon arrival we were advised that it was an error in the listing and the property did not have a pool for guest use. This was quite disappointing for us as it was a big reason for booking the property.

Fantastic location with lots of history. Room was great. All the amenities you could need near by. The restaurant and wine bar on site were fantastic.

The only complaint is when we left, we were left waiting for over 5 minutes to check out while I was standing on crutches while the one receptionist at the desk took an over the phone booking who wanted them to price match a deal. They only called for assistance when another 2 people lined up behind us. They then put the call on hold so we could check out. I don't know why they didn't do that 5 minutes earlier.
