The room (after we requested for room change) was soundproof and quiet. The room and bathrooms were clean and comfortable.

1. We had to request for a room change since our first room was a connecting room and soundproof was so bad that we could clearly hear our next door neighbor’s voices and sound from TV. 2. sea view was not really sea view. main view was car park and property next to the hotel

Decor was gorgeous, room was spacious and had everything we needed, excellent bathroom too.

The outside seating opportunities were awful, 4 tables overlooking the car park, and a few more in the car park overlooking the sludgy water of the commercial harbour. When eating outside in the (excellent) cafe, cars were backing up to the tables with fumes. Outdoor space terrible. Pics do not show this. Also being a commercial harbour location there was a massive noisy dredger in port starting work clanking from early in the morning to early evening.

Excellent location within easy walk to restaurants and the marina, and an easy cab ride, or moderate walk (uphill) to the castle. Good buffet plus entree breakfast with decent service and seating, on a weekend no less. In-room coffee/tea. The room we had had a view of the harbor, and was spacious and comfortable. We submitted laundry on a Saturday morning and it reliably came back in beautiful condition in the afternoon.

Hotel parking is quite tight, with narrow spaces. If you arrive late, there may not be any parking , if some visitors are coming just for an event at the pub. I recommend arriving close to check-in time if you are there for a weekend or in high season.

Wonderful position overlooking the harbour. Exactly like the photos so it easily met my expectations. Our room was great, spacious a view of the harbour, chairs and a table to sit and look at the view. Very comfy bed and pillows. Lovely bathroom seperate bath and shower, heated towel rail, nice towels.Early check in, easy walk to town. Helpful and friendly staff. Very nice meal in the restaurant downstairs and a great breakfast. This hotel was one of the best on our trip. The town of Kinsale is well worth a visit, and this hotel I would definitely recommend.

I could not fault a thing

the breakfast was unbelievable great choice of everything from the buffet also great choice on menu, rooms were gorgeous nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff all in all a lovely experience have already booked our return trip

very little really if I could pick one thing maybe variety in restaurant in bar food was gorgeous personally I would have preferred some baked fish as opposed to fish done with sauce I had the fish pie one night too much of it there for one person but other than that no faults

We had a lovely stay and the only reason I couldn’t give 10/10 is that the checkin was terrible. The staff had little knowledge of the system, they seemed confused by one booking 3 rooms!! Really poor and with no apology. Reception services were better on Saturday and Sunday so guessing they were inexperienced staff on Friday. If that had been different our stay at the trident would definitely have scored top marks. Thank you

You can’t beat the location, the staff was helpful and professional, and the breakfast was superb! the rainfall shower was an unexpected luxury and there was a ton of closet space.

The mattress specifically was old and misshaped. I could feel the indents from previous occupants and a raised strip up the center. There are a couple dated items that will probably need replacing soon but the mattress is long past.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the waterfront in the attractive town of Kinsale. We particularly enjoyed being able to use the intimate residents' bar for our nightcaps. Two members of our party had a suite with a balcony which was particularly well-appointed.

Although most elements of the breakfast menu lived up to expectations, we had to inform the waiting staff that the scrambled eggs did not taste as if they had been made from fresh eggs.

We loved our room. it was spacious and comfortable with a view of the harbour. The Restaurant where we had breakfast was lovely - bright and with great views. The service was good and staff friendly. The food was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold breakfast. One staff member who stood out was Barman Shane - he was working the outside bar and was very efficient and friendly.

The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. There was a plentiful selection at breakfast.

There was no extractor fan in the bathroom so it got very hot when having a shower. We got a call from reception at midnight asking us to lower the volume on our TV. We were watching 'The Late Late Toy Show'! I expected there would be dressing gowns provided with a junior suite.
