My husband tripped in the street & ended up having an operation in hospital. We had to cancel the rest of our holiday. Susie, the Guest Manager & her staff & others have all been amazing, making us comfortable & assisting however they can in all sorts of way. The location of the hotel is terrific, you're in the heart of the city, The rooms are very comfortable. The Breakfast room is very pleasant & there is plenty to choose from on the menu. The hotel has a great atmosphere with lots of character. I highly recommend it.

Nothing to dislike at all.

good staff, clean and very central

the little restaurant inside the front door proved impossible to get your Irish breakfast because times seems to change every day , not before 10 , different on Sunday , finish at ten on Monday etc etc. we didn’t manage to get our breakfast once over the full weekend.

Wonderful old hotel excellent location - so much history - easy set down and car park easy to locate a wee walk but safe and easy access - room was amazing - big and spacious - bar downstairs cool - so close to everything. The breakfast was beautiful - everything you needed - had two amazing old bars that were very lively - late check out which is kind so you can look around town if need. Bar man accidentally made me the wrong drink so didnt charge and then went and made the correct one - Love the little home made local produce in the cages served for breakfast - its very grand. The staff are very happy in their work and love to help. Stunning history and furnishings

The first thing I enjoyed was the smell of the lobby; I knew I’d love it from stepping inside. It’s a beautiful hotel with professional staff. The facilities are up to scratch and the location is unbeatable.

Lovely room with plenty of space and big comfy bed. Fantastic location right beside all the shopping and nightlife in Oliver Plunkett Street. Very classy hotel with a great restaurant too.

The guest parking was a little rough. Across the river, down the road and around the corner in a grubby smelly public parking building with absolutely tiny tight parking spaces. Not the best match to such a nice hotel. But maybe that's representative of the demand for parking in central Cork. I'm pretty sure the hotel was built was before carparks were a thing!

The hotel can truly claim to be a historic place and its owners put rightly some effort for the guests to feel and experience the past. The lobby has been greatly renovated during Covid times and shines in the best possible light. All staff members had been super helpful and supportive from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel welcome right from the start. The access to a park garage close by has been greatly appreciated. Our room had been spacious and quiet. Access to our room sometimes had not been too easy as the elevator into our wing had been out of service for most of our time.

We did not mind the broken elevator that much as it allowed us to explore other wings and sections of the hotel and everybody was willing to help. However, our sleep had unfortunately not been too comfortable as the bed mattress had been sagging.

I recently stayed at The Imperial with a group of friends and we had the most fantastic hotel experience. From check in, the staff were top class, big shout out to Eros on reception who was stellar in his professionalism and great craic dealing with us 5 gals checking in after a few afternoon cocktails. We were celebrating 3 x 40th birthdays with a rare night out in the city. The manager on reception that day (her first name escapes me but she has surname Kiely) was excellent, she offered us a complimentary drink of the hotel prepared gin infused tea on check in which obviously went down well as we were in a celebratory mood and it was well received. Staff were so friendly and professional, Eros kindly sent up complimentary artisan local chocolates to our room as a gift for our birthdays which was a lovely touch. The room was spotless and the beds super comfy and obviously the location of the hotel is ideal. We didn't get to enjoy breakfast as we chose to stay in bed (we all have young children so a sleep in was preferable) but there is complimentary tea, coffee and snacks in the residents lounge which was perfect and such a lovely space to relax. I would highly recommend The Imperial, it is a beautiful hotel and the staff were outstanding, it stands out in my mind as one of my best hotel experiences.
