The room was lovely, we had a disability room so no bath, but a big shower. Pool is beautiful, warm and jacuzzi is nice too. The hotel is in a great location, very, close to Ballincolling which has a few pubs, restaurants, supermarkets & fast food places. Convenient to Fota and Cork City. Would stay again.

Breakfast had no hot food left & was waiting about 20 minutes for it to be re stocked. Asked for pouched eggs, they took about 20 mins & were hard, so I didn't eat them. No pancakes in the machine, was told they were putting a new bag in, but 25 mins later was told they weren't being restocked, but they could make ones fresh, which the kids loved. It just seemed unorganised & we were there early & it wasn't busy. For €15 I'd a slice of toast & some coco pops.

Another great experience at this hotel. I have stayed at Oriel House on a number of occasions now and have always had a great experience here. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and spacious, and housekeeping standards are high. Breakfast was very good, and it was good to see more options for those who might not want a cooked breakfast. The pool is a great facility, and one of the reasons I like to return here. Car parking is free. On this stay, we were upgraded to the bridal suite. We were a bit embarassed by this to begin with, but once we saw the splendid suite itself, we were delighted. It includes the oriel window that we assumed gives the hotel its name. This was a lovely surprise.

It's difficult to say what might be improved at this hotel. The pool area is very popular and busy, and there is clear evidence of wear and tear - refurbishment might be a good idea.

The Oriel Hotel was outside Cork but very convenient for a drive into town for the day. The rooms were large and had good facilities. We had dinner in the bistro once and the food was nothing to shout home about, but perfectly satisfactory and all we needed on the first night. Definitely a good option if you need somewhere when arriving late. We had breakfast each day which was a buffet style and included a lot of options for us to choose from.

When we asked whether there were any good options locally for dinner the staff response seemed a little off - either because they felt we should be using their restaurant or that there is a lack of good places in the vicinity. We drove into Cork in the end and had a lovely meal at Spitjacks. I think some rooms need redecorating, especially the bathroom which looked like there had been a leak in the past from the room above and could have done with a little renovation just to improve the look for guests. On one occasion when ordering a tea and coffee for breakfast we had to reorder the coffee because it tasted like tea. The second attempt was only slightly better. The other occasions had no problems

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the last 18 months and the rooms are hit or miss. Some are yet to be updated and a little run down, while others have really nice decor. I would suggest booking a deluxe room rather than a standard. Breakfast is lovely. Fresh fruit salads, yogurts, cereals, cooked breakfast and pastries. Staff are friendly. Location is perfect for everything we need when we visit. It's close to Cork City, and only around 45-50 minutes drive from Killarney Lakes (beautiful place to visit). There is a lovely pub just 5 minutes drive from the hotel as well as stunning walking routes by the river. The hotel itself has a nice bar and restaurant as well as a swimming pool and gym. The carpark has just been newly repaired.

Hard, flat pillows. Freezing cold shower in the mornings, although it's not always like that when I have stayed at the hotel.

This is a big hotel 20mins outside Cork which we booked as Cork was so expensive & glad we did . Rooms are a good size and plenty of parking ( important when on a touring holiday) , breakfast included which was buffet style & fair selection of food. Receptionists were very welcoming and helpful with local information. We ate at the Tradehouse down the road which was excellent, tasty food, great service and live music

Sadly our toilet hadn’t been cleaned completely & there was a bad odour in the room, we asked to be moved which they did to a room next door and this was much better. I am sure this is not a reflection of the whole hotel and actually despite this we rate it as one of our best of our trip

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The room is spacious and nicely decorated. The bed is comfy cozy and the shower is so relaxing I have a hard time leaving it. The staff are warm and inviting. They are more than willing to help with any issue that arises. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious as was the dinner we had in the bar area. The location is on the outside of Cork but we travel back and forth easily on the bus daily. The bus stop is an easy walk from the Oriel. Shopping is close by and there are plenty of restaurants near by.

I would have liked a refrigerator in the room.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic facilities, friendly staff and our bedrooms were huge with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Ballincollig is a lovely place too with lots of options for food and drink.

It is quite difficult to get to and from Cork City without a car or relying on taxis as the bus takes 45min- 1 hour, but that isn't the fault of the hotel, of course. Some of the breakfast options such as soda bread, granola, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms had ran out when we arrived at 9:30am. However it was a week day so maybe food is replenished more frequently at weekends.

the only thing we liked is their bed

smoke alarm went off around 2:30am and I am waiting this comment :( in morning 3:30 am. I walked out to the reception and many people still drinking n chatting in the area. it was so noisy during the night from the walkway/ upstairs, maybe it’s because they having a big group of party maybe? when I walked out trying to see what happened, the reception is busy with those people . other guests told me alarm off n ok now so we all back to bed , luckily my young child able to sleep again. the hotel’s facilities overall is good but the bathroom is a bit old and dirty.
