The location and staff couldn't be better. Excellent breakfast with some different dishes every day. The view from the pool deck is wonderful with views from Leblon to Red (devil's) beach and right in front of Arpoador beach. We had a nice view of the park next to us that provides a short cut to Arpoador beach. All of the staff was helpful but in particular Cristiane Alexandre. She knew all the best options on how to get me to the Salgueiro Samba School practice and as a result I had an experience of a lifetime attending the high energy samba of my favorite Samba school! This is probably the safest version of this type of event as you have a shuttle or private car directly to the event and the event is not inside or nearby the slums. Moreover Salgueiro invites other samba schools regularly so you may get to see 2 if you're willing to stay later than 1AM. I also had the need of a plug adapter late on Saturday to do some remote work. Nothing was open to buy one but Cristiane was resourceful and though they didn't have one at the front desk she found someone that delivered me an adapter and I was able to meet my work deadline. Finally when Kiwi.com sent me an email telling me that our flight had been changed forward by 1 day (I received the email ~ 2h before my flight but didn't see it till 1h before the new flight time) she once again helped me locate the proper number to call of the airline (Kiwi never again) and I was able to get my original flight back. If you can stay at Arena Ipanema hotel do it. It's walking distance to many good bar/restaurants and fairly safe given the continued and very visible presence of police in the area (including mounted police in the park).

The location was excellent with good facilities. I really liked the pool and the lounge area on the top floor. staff were generally nice and helpful particularly the cleaners and the staff at breakfast and on the 9th floor

Generally everything was good. Gym was small and maybe more staff in reception when they expect a lot of people checking in. I arrived at 10pm on a Saturday and was waiting a while as there was only one staff member at reception.

Always a staff person available at the front desk which was very helpful for calling cabs, helping with bags, and getting in and out of the building safely. As a woman traveling alone, I felt extremely safe. Room was very comfortable and windows opened over a lush green park and the cute walkway to the beach. AC worked great for cooling/ dehumidifying the room. A one minute walk out to the beach. Small fridge in the room where there was some space for keeping beverages and snacks chilled. View from the roof was very nice and pool was the perfect temperature. Breakfast included lots of fresh fruit and local Brazilian food in addition to a more Western/ European breakfast staples. Enjoyed an outdoor dinner on the beach at "Arp" the restaurant of the nearby hotel.

My room was on the second floor and I would have been fine skipping the wait for the elevator - but the entrance to the stairs was through a staff-only area.

Pool view, location. Location is excellent, near the beach, and very close to the main interest areas. The neighborhood is very quiet. Breakfast is very complete. Hotel looks modern. Staff was always polite

They were doing some maintaining on the rooms door locks, although it seemed it was going to give us some trouble, finally it didn't, but anyways we were told the day we arrived. So I did not like that.

The Staff were great and really helpful, and having the pool was a blessing when the beach was so full, being a weekend! Breakfast and the food in the restaurant was wonderful (although I am not sure what was in the bolognese on the kids menu...it didn't taste right).

The gym was near on useless for a couple to work out. You can't use more than 1 piece of the weights equipment at the same time. I booked this hotel because it had a gym, and paid for that privilege, so it was very disappointing that it was really a home gym for 1 person! And no free weights, which would have made it more user friendly.

Modern and well thought out hotel. The staff very welcoming, especially Cesar at reception.

Our toilet stopped working after 1 day but was very quickly repaired. They try to get you into their own taxi after check out, which always takes a while to arrive, which is not necessary because in front of the hotel is a taxi stand always with taxis available.

Breakfast and location were tough to beat. It’s a little walk to coppacobanna, which I kind of wish we chose instead, but we did get to avoid the traffic and homelessness. We stayed at a fancy resort known for their breakfast after this place and the buffet at Arena, I think was better (on some days, they switch it up). Beach access and views are also amazing. Roof top sunsets with a drink are a must if you stay here. Pool was a little undersized but it’s on the roof with a view and a bar so hard to complain, especially when the beach is right there. Getting taxis right across the street is easy or Uber with Wi-Fi. Not everyone spoke English since they don’t have a lot of American visitors but that’s all of Brazil it seems.

Rooms are on the smaller size and you can hear your neighbors if they’re loud. Drinks, food, etc are on the more expensive side.

The hotel is very well located. Near to many shops. really good breakfast and food from the menu. comfortable rooftop area where you can relax and enjoy the view of Ipanema. very helpful and cute staff. Special thank to the reception manager Cesar and special special thank to Hugo and Cristiane who were very helpful and kind. thank you guys for all your help. hope to see you again!!!

The only thing I can mention that there are no cattle in rooms.

There's partial view of the beach from the great rooftop... but the view is partial because it is essentially obstructed by another building, depriving guests from one of the most spectacular views in the world. I was very disappointed by that. The airco in the main lobby makes it freezing cold (external temp was between 18-22 during my stay, so it's not even clear why airco was used in the first place).

The lobby is very inviting, the restaurant there is quite good, and the rooftop is absolutely perfect for spending a quiet afternoon. additionally, I felt the beds were really comfortable considering the value of the room. Great breakfast bar, and the staff was great. I wasn’t interested in room service so can’t speak to the quality of that. the view from our room in the 7th floor was pretty good, you could see a partial beach view, but mostly of the street.

the bathroom, while attractively designed, had faucets and shower dials that didn’t work properly. it was impossible to adjust the temperature correctly for neither the sink nor the shower. the shower didn’t drain properly so water would stay on the floor pooled in areas, which made it quite humid. Also, the bidet didn’t function. the walls in the bathroom and in the room had chipping paint in some places, but that didn’t impact the functionality at all.
