Large, clean and comfortable room with a small garden view, in a quiet street from the historic district. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Please note this is located in the historic district so slightly far (30 min walk) from the high street, if you want to go out late at night this may be an issue for you (it wasn't for us)

Wow, this place is truly amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay in Kanazawa perfect. First, the location is in the historic Higashi Chaya District, allowing you to stay in an area with incredible character and beauty. It is within walking distance to other famous sites in the city including Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en, and Omicho Market. The facilities are amazing--beautifully maintained and restored, with both historic character and modern amenities. We truly appreciated the fact that a washer/dryer combo was in the room and there was washing detergent available as well. The very modern bathroom made us feel like we were at a spa. I loved the fact that the sleeping area was partitioned off from the dining room/kitchenette area. The futon beds were sooooo comfortable. The kitchenette area was well stocked with supplies including a microwave and induction stove for those who wanted to make something themselves. The morning breakfast was also phenomenal and probably the biggest surprise of our stay. It was absolutely delicious and one of our favorite meals during the trip. We loved the pastries and even took a detour in our site seeing day to visit the bakery they came from as we were so impressed with pastries served during breakfast. But what really sets Utaimachi apart was the INCREDIBLE staff. From check in to check out, each team member went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay and were comfortable. They gave us wonderful advice for getting around the city and helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel location. They truly went above and beyond to make our journey to and from Kanazawa smooth and stress free. Thank you so much Utaimachi for a wonderful stay and for all of your generous hospitality!

A great room in an awesome location, family friendly with helpful staff able to communicate in english. Sleeping arrangements and room facilities were excellent for 4 adults (2 adult children). The access via the loop bus from the main station was easy, with a short walk to the accommodation.
Not a complaint, but if you ask the staff for assistance in booking a restaurant suggest to check what the prices are. We ended up paying more for the meal than for the accommodation, and had to be in cash (something we should have checked and not assumed)

UTAIMACHI was the highlight stay of our trip. My partner and I got held up and couldn't get to check in before 19:00. We let UTAIMACHI know and Jun stayed back late to check us in, and really took his time to make sure we were all sorted. The room is very beautiful, and there's quite a good amount of space. The provided filter coffee station was nice and the washer/dryer was in english so super easy for us to figure out. Breakfast in the morning was great, we chose the western option and there was a nice smattering of food. We had told Jun when we checked in that we did not eat meat, and so the breakfast was vego friendly. It was raining in Kanazawa the day we were there and they had umbrellas for us to borrow, and they held onto our luggage for the day while we explored the area.
Nothing, everything was a delight.

Beautifully decorated room in the tea district, overlooking a quiet street. Walking distance to great restaurants, the Kanazawa attractions, as well as the tourist circulator bus. Bathroom had a deep soaking tub. Beds were comfortable. Nice yukatas. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved it.
Not a criticism, but information: it's not within easy walking distance of the train station, but the tourist bus stop is very close and comes around often, and you can use an IC card to pay your fare. Cabs in the area are also available and inexpensive.

Everything is perfect: location, facilities, and staff. They even have a webpage explaining how to use the various controllers (heat/AC, bathtub (which you can fill from the kitchen), heated floors, etc.). This was by far the nicest place I stayed across a month in Japan. The staff recommended and reserved seats in fantastic restaurants, where I was treated to extra dishes because I was referred by Utaimachi. 11/10 across the board!
I liked *everything* about my stay.

The size of the suite was amazing even by American size standards. We stayed in the "Sen" room upstairs. The location was phenomenal, being in the heart of the walking district and actually on a narrow alley with no vehicles. It was like going back in time. The bed was large and comfortable, and it was nice to have the full kitchen with washing machine as well as a large tatami room for sitting while looking down the alley. It was a very quiet area of the neighborhood. Operations of the HVAC and other features were all well explained in English. The front desk hostess was very friendly and spoke excellent English. She prepared a wonderful breakfast that more than satisfied our western appetites. My wife was born and raised in Osaka, and we've visited Japan eight times in the past 20 years, but this was one of the very best experiences we have ever had. We wish to return in the future with our adult children and rent all three guest rooms of the house.
Would like to have had a regular coffee maker in the room, but this is a very minor item.

Besides the obvious fact of living in an area that seems to have frozen in time in late 1800s Japan, the interior garden is a magnificent addition and brings a very zen twist to having a bath or waking up in the morning. All the appliances were very ho-tech and spot on, with easy to use panels that can automate every step of the environmental control, from temperature to humidity, all the way to wash’n’dry machine and the bathtub automation system, and the quality of the products provided for our stay was over the top. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they even came at 11pm when I had a minor health issue that required an extra futon. Breakfast was fantastic and abundant, and well-curated in presentation. A5 place, super recommended.

This was a great little hotel during our few days in Kanazawa. It’s right in the Highashi Chaya district, which is lovely to wander around, and not too long a walk from major tourist sites (Kanazawa Castle, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and my favorite, Kenroku-en). The washer-dryer in the room worked great and was a nice bonus, and we appreciated the online guides to all of the room’s gadgets. We never figured out the tub, but loved it nonetheless! Breakfast was more western-style than Japanese, but still very good.

Beautiful gem in the middle of the old town. Extremely nicely renovated without having lost its charme. Everything was very clean and a lot of attention was given to details of the studio which made us feel at home immediately. There was a form to give feedback about our stay which we appreciated and which shows that they actually care about how their guests feel. Highly recommend a stay in this beautiful little gem!
Breakfast could be improved (coffee and for example giving the guests a small selection of breakfast items to choose from).
