we loved the property was on the beach and comfortable w beautiful, pool cove beach, good food, easy access to town and also biking to beach clubs further down the beach. the suites are unique and we really loved ours.

Very nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds. The housekeeping team were amazing and the staff, especially Carol at reception, were very friendly and helpful. The pool is clean with lovely warm water and the beach is set in a beautiful private cove meaning it’s peaceful and undisturbed. The hotel location is also good. Other restaurants, beaches, shops and an ATM are all adjacent and the rest of the hotel zone is nearby - accesible by a short taxi ride.

Food at the hotel restaurant was expensive. Would love if they had an option to include breakfast. Not having a fridge in the rooms was a downside since Tulum has such hot weather. Our room didn’t come with a Bose speaker as advertised, although this didn’t bother us.

we stayed in the penthouse and overlooked the pool and beach. we loooooved it!!! staff was amazing and so was the breakfast wow!!!

Tulum have issues with seaweed so we couldn’t swim in ocean although this was everywhere not only on this beautiful piece of beach

Great small beachside hotel, quiet but in a good midway point between Tulum centre and all the other hotels and restaurants on the beach front. I stayed in two different rooms and much preferred the upstairs room for the view and was lucky to have the end one which had a double aspect window looking through the trees to the sea. Staff always very friendly and helpful.

It didn't bother me but I think the 'Adults Only' title is slightly misleading as the restaurant and beach are open to the public so there are often children around. This is obviously out of the hotels control but the water did go off a couple of times, must be a 'Tullum' thing. Would be great if the bicycles would have been included in the room price as with a few of the other resorts, as a good way to get around.

Maria del Mar is perfectly located - between the hotel zone to the north and the Tulum Beach area to the south - so it's nicely removed from the party scene to be peaceful, but close enough that it's a short walk or cycle to either. There are plenty of great little restaurants and bars really nearby. Carol at the front desk was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful - she helped us understand the area, arranged all our transport (bikes, atv, shuttle from Cancun and to Chiquila), and communicated so well over WhatsApp. Can't recommend her enough, she made our stay so easy! We had an upstairs room with a small balcony and an outside area with a pool - the room was super spacious and had everything we needed (including fully stocked minibar) and being upstairs added to the privacy/peacefulness. The pool/beach area of Maria del Mar is awesome - very sheltered, relaxed and the staff from the connected restaurant, Mina, willingly come and serve you at the loungers. Overall, we loved it as a couple on honeymoon - the perfect balance of quiet and fun and access to everything we wanted to do in Tulum!

The only minor downside is that the only food and drink you have access to in the hotel is from the restaurant Mina, which is not the same company/unrelated, and it was quite expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. The food was delicious, but that was the only minor downside.

The whole premises was beautiful, clean, and well organized. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations, especially Carol! The room was extremely clean, smelled great, and the staff cleaned our room and changed our towels every day for no extra charge. The pool was gorgeous with a view of the ocean. The lounge areas by the beach were very comfortable and the service from the restaurant was very good.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of seaweed in the ocean and the water was not as nice as on other parts of the beach where there wasn't as much seaweed. There was also some seaweed on the beach, although the hotel seemed to work hard to clear it in the morning.

The hotel is really beautiful! A modern building with an amazing garden, pool area and beach. The location on the beach front is very important since there is almost no public beach access in whole tulum. The rooms are super clean and nicely decorated. Also, the food and drinks at the restaurant which belongs to the hotel are very delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful! It's located close to shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars which are really nice and not as expensive compared to other places in the zona hotelera of Tulum. Also, there is free parking right across the street. Tulum itself wasn't really our taste since everything is super expensive (in the zona hotelera even for european standards). With Maria del Mar we made an excellent choice and really enjoyed our stay. We can totally recommend staying at this hotel.

Everything. Staff in particular. Extremely friendly and incredibly helpful. The front desk, namely Carol and Armando, were critical to making our time as amazing as it was. They gave us excellent recommendations and took incredible care of us. As this was my girlfriend and I first time in Tulum, we did not have a great grasp on how to properly navigate the city. They dispelled this notion and pointed us in the right direction. Carol and Armando were amazing. The people at the resort made the experience 10/10. And their beautiful cat, of course.

The beach-- but this is completely out of their control. The crew did an excellent job cleaning, but the seaweed was rampant!

This is a stunning hotel on the edge of Tulums main beach front, the design of the hotel room is well thought out with ample space in each room. The fresh cent of the room stays with you long after you leave, fresh beach & shower towels were provided daily and it was in a very tranquil spot off the busy tulum street. The hotel staff were very attentive & friendly, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a couple looking to find a spot of peace and luxury in Tulum. It was an absolute treasure meeting Apollonia the hotel cat.

Some of the boards on the veranda room 6 have seen better days, to the point they’ve been screw down Willy nilly leaving exposed screw heads which really hurt when trodden on. the hotel has been notified.

Our room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, everything worked fine, we found the hotel to be as described! the staff was nice and accommodating to our needs, the waiters at the Mina restaurant were very friendly and they really tried to make sure that you always have what you need.

Even though everything was great, I still felt the hotel was overpriced for the local available infrastructure. But that is generally a problem of the area I guess, too overpriced but poor infrastructure, like for example to a restaurant 15 minutes walk from the hotel you would still have to take a taxi cos there's no sidewalk or no street lights, so basically you would have to walk in the dark on the street where the cars drive. Be prepared to pay 25 dollars for every 5 minutes taxi ride. Same with restaurants, very overpriced for very average food. They try to rip you off where they can.
