Pool, peaceful, great food down the road!! close to shopping, restaurants, and taxis into town!

No swimming in the ocean because of the seaweed everywhere. Tulum Beach only had a couple tiny spots to get into but no swimming there either. I came to swim in the ocean and it would have been nice to know beforehand.

Good hotel in the Tulum Hotel Zone. Hotel is right on the beach. We stayed in a Cabana which was right on the beach and next to the sea. Can literally hear the waves on a night. Room has a big bed, shower and Wi-Fi. No fridge in room. The hotel has a restaurant and bar but it was closed while we were staying. Stayed for 3 nights with my partner. There are a handful of shops, bars and restaurants that are walking distance. If you want to go to the main beach clubs like Ziggys and Cocos you will need to get a taxi which is about 7 minutes away. Or you can walk 30 minutes.

Fridge in room.

Our room was literally right on the sand and was steps away from the water. We had lovely hammocks and chairs in front to enjoy the beach from. The room was also incredibly clean and they provided a lot of fresh water for our stay. FYI that the small rooms on the beach have an open shower and toilet area - there's a small door to each for a little privacy, but they are very much open to the rest of the room. Get ready to become much closer to whoever you're traveling with :) The food and service at the hotel bar/restaurant were also excellent!

Honestly we loved everything about our stay until our very last evening. Unfortunately my partner's Kindle went missing from the room. We had been putting it in the safe, but forgot that day and when we came back that evening it was gone. Given that we always locked our room, sadly the only conclusion that we could come to was that someone with a key entered the room and took it while we were gone. We take full blame for not putting it in the safe, but was such a bummer to end our trip on that note :(

The staff is very friendly, kind and helpful. The setting is beautiful. The terrace where you can chill or have meals and drinks is delightful. The bungalows/cabins have a charming, rustic look and you get all the comfort too: great beds, pillows, shower, AC, and hammocks. Delicious guacamole, agua fresca, banana supreme and coffee, and huevos rancheros... to name just our favorites! They have a cute little library you can borrow books from. We loved happy hour too and we loved our upgrade in the coconut grove. Thank you!

Free water was provided in the room, but it would have been nice to have that in the restaurant too, given the hot weather and the premium prices charged off-season. The sargassum was an issue everywhere and we went swimming anyway.

The room/bungalow was great! Huge space - two king beds, plus a twin/couch. Huge wraparound porch with great views of the ocean. Lots of shutters to open for the great breeze. The bathroom was big too. Perfect for our family of 4 with two teenagers.

The only problem was the huge amount of seaweed up on the beach. Which is out of anyone's control of course. It did smell a little, but the breeze was so good, that didn't matter at all. We ended up finding a different beach with less seaweed to swim at.

For the price we paid for 2 nights we thought we have an ocean side room. We did not. We were across the street and down a path. The rooms were nice and were cleaned in-between nights. The restaurant server was horrible. He never greeted me with a hello or I'll be with you in a few minutes. 2 table that were seated after me had their drinks and already ordered and I was still sitting there. I went into the bar and the bartender said he was the only server. I left. I did tell the front desk and she offered to send me something to my room however I was not in the mood at that point.

Restaurant needs to be staffed appropriately.

Zamas hotel absolutely exceeded expectations on my first trip to Tulum. I did a fair amount of research beforehand and Zamas appeared to be the best value for staying at the Beach. Having now been I absolutely think that's the case. The resort itself was beautiful and very well maintained. The food on-site was fantastic and the location was great for venturing out to other restaurants and shops. The staff at Zamas are top-notch and accommodated all of our requests before our stay and while we were there.

There's nothing you can do about this in Tulum but the seaweed is a bummer but not enough to deter you from enjoying the beach on-site. Plus if you're willing to walk a bit you can find plenty of areas where seaweed isn't an issue.

We booked the jungle room but got an upgrade to one of the upstairs bungalows for free. The bungalow was spacey, with a nice view and compfy beds. The staff was always friendly and even provided a small fridge since the bungalow lacked one. The pool was wonderful and since we were the only guest we had the luxery to use it privatly.

Lots of seagrass at the beach, but this is not the hotels fault. We did not like Tulum itself since it changed a lot in the last 20 years. The beachbar was maybe a bit expensive.

There’s a long road in Tulum with restaurants - this is up towards the start of it. You’ll find more places as you go down - but you’ll be sharing the road with cars, which are speed limited by all the traffic. This area was more a bike / walking spot years ago and all the cars are a downside of the huge popularity now. Hotels down the road have a less rocky beach with less seaweed - some clean it every day. But this beach is nice to sit by and some huts are right on the beach. Staff was great. This is a simpler hotel and that is a great experience and you’ll see that in the pricing. If you’re looking for a spa and big clean wading beach, those exist down the road but are also more costly.

Even knowing that this is more of a rocky beach with seaweed, more aggressive seaweed removal would improve the beach experience. This seems factored into the overall cost and the Zamas is a good value.
