Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly. We felt at home straight away. The accomodation is 100% clean and has everything you would need. The Dolce Gusto coffee machine was such a bonus! Breakfast was ready to go in the fridge and, Linda even had a note pad for you to fill in indicating what you required for her to top up! Ie: milk, juice etc! Amazing! Little details such as makeup remover pads, band aids etc are so welcome and makes you feel like you are home. The garden area and little bistro set on the verandah is a lovely place to just sit and relax watching time drift by. We stayed for 2 days which was perfect. We had the banquet dinner tour at Hobbiton. Only 12 mins drive away. Even bought a takeaway in the gorgeous Matamata town, (where there’s an i site info centre make up like a hobbit house! )Took our curry off to Hobbiton, sat on the benches, bought a cider and just breathed in the fresh air! This is a top rate B&B whether you are staying a few nights or just passing through . It’s ideally suited to visit the Hobbiton film set and the town has lots of options for eating. The studio is equipped and furnished to a very high standard and quality . A lot of care has obviously been taken to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay . After 18 nights touring South Island and nearly as many B&Bs( all of which were good ) this was the nicest so far . You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome . Very highly recommended .

There is nothing to dislike.

My partner and I have been travelling around Australia and New Zealand. This little place is the best accommodation we have had yet. The room was lovely and clean and had everything! Our hosts were lovely too! There was a recommendations book for local restaurants with ratings, prices and menus which was very helpful! Close to Hobbiton and a lovely little town centre. 10/10 :)

We liked everything!

It was perfect for what we needed. It was very straightforward. We flew into Auckland that morning and drove to Hobbiton. After our tour we drove to Matamata, grabbed food at DK's Burger place on the main Street and then found Denchy's. It was easy to get into and when we went in we were very pleased. It was nicely decorated, had a comfortable bed, a counter, small fridge, sink, cutlery, dishes, etc. The bathroom is very adequate. Everything was spotless.

It really was great. We couldn't fault it.

Due to a Booking.com error on a sold out holiday weekend, Denchy's was overbooked when we arrived. The hosts were very professional in trying to get an alternative booked. When that failed, they opened up their actual home to us to make sure we wouldn't be stranded in the middle of nowhere late at night. They have great recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. Beautiful rural property with amazing cherry trees in full bloom in the spring. Perfect location for those who are doing early morning Hobbiton tours as the movie set is just 15 minutes away by car.

We stayed here before our visit to Hobbiton. It was about a 10 minute drive from here, which was perfect for the second breakfast tour. Everything was clean and comfortable. From our room we had a beautiful view of the countryside and the sunset.

What an awesome stay! Heartwarming and kind hosts, clean and very comfortable room with everything you need, close to the city centre. Your hosts really put a lot of passion and love into this room and to make sure your stay is exactly what you expect. There is no better stay for your trip to explore Matamata or to get to Hobbiton.

The breakfast was very nice, what we would normally have. The place was clean and had nice little touches to make you feel welcome. The location was good as we had a car.

For us the bed was uncomfortable as it was to firm and I didn't really like the idea that the main house could be rented out at the same time as the B&B. Luckily it was only on the second day that a lovely lady turned up to stay in the house.

Very welcoming and friendly hosts. Left breakfast things for us. Really clean and cosy, great sized room and a perfect location for us as we did the evening banquet tour at Hobbiton.

Excellent hosts! The epitome of how to equip and present a rest stop for travelers. Everything you need. And then some. Great location. Central to all BUT in a quiet neighborhood. You'll want to stay here.

It was a bit cozy (small) but there was a place for everything and still space for us and our luggage.
