From the first moment I parked, I felt comfortable and at-home in Neil and Sue's lovely spot. Both are top-class people, the type you want to hang out with. The property itself is perfection. Wild flowers, chirping birds, the smell of honey suckle in the air, all of nature accompanies your stay. I stayed in the Cottage, which offered nice privacy and lovely quarters, but each of their individual bedrooms in the main house are lovely as well. Breakfast, as many have said, was top-notch. From the property, the amenities, and the way they care, I couldn't ask for a better stay. I'll certainly be back.

The WiFi in the guest cottage is a little weak. But other than that, it was a perfect stay.

This plane was fabulous! The property is so beautiful you could have a wedding there. Sue is a fantastic chef and we had an amazing breakfast. Our room was lovely and had a door to a wraparound porch overlooking the gardens and filled with the songs of the local birds. I highly recommend a stay here!

Absolutely nothing!

Truly beautiful property inside and out. Clean, gorgeous rooms, amazing breakfast too. Sue and Neil took care of us and we enjoyed being in their home. Listening to the birds in the morning and seeing the delightful garden outside the windows was exactly what we needed. Thankyou Sue and Neil we’ll be back!!

Location wise was fantastic for us. During our stay we visited the Hobbiton Movie Farm and enjoyed a day at the Waitomo Caves. Breakfast was a banquet and sustained us for an entire day. Having enjoyed beautifully prepared fresh fruits, baked goods and a hearty cooked breakfast. The room was stunning over looking the beautiful gardens, the bed was super comfy and the spa was so relaxing. Sue and Neil were fantastic hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay a very memorable one. We felt so comfortable and at home in their gorgeous home and gardens and are so grateful for the warm welcome we received. Highly recommend Vila Walton, you won't be disappointed.

Nothing, our hosts and stay exceeded our expectations. We received nothing but the best and were so very grateful for the care and attention that Sue and Neil gave us. Absolutely worth it.

Neil and Sue were fantastic hosts, got the balance of being around to help with questions or advice on activities, whilst giving guests privacy spot on! The food was a real highlight and even more impressive given Neil and Sue also do this themselves! The cottage and main property were furnished perfectly and we loved the interiors, bedding, wash products and beautiful gardens in particular.

We wish we'd stayed longer!

Everything was magnificent. The bedrooms and attached baths were lovely, and bonus ICE in the small refrigerator/freezer. The living room, dining, and bar were also beautiful, comfortable, and homey. We enjoyed wandering around the gardens outside, and relaxing on the porch with a drink in the evening.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Villa Walton was the most unique accommodation we have ever experienced. Everything about the villa was friendly and tasteful, with great attention to detail. The bedroom was large with beautiful linen; soft carpets and curtains; a small fridge hidden behind a cupboard door; a luxurious ensuite; and french doors that opened out to an immaculately landscaped garden. Established trees encircle the 1904 villa and the morning chorus was an early morning melody. Su and Neil were the most amazing hosts. Together they cooked us a restaurant-quality meal which we enjoyed in the cooler evening breezes on the deck. Neil is a consummate conversationalist, and he both entertained us and spoiled us with his extensive bar and whisky knowledge. After a great night's sleep, Su prepared an excellent 2-course breakfast for us accompanied with exceptional coffee. We can't recommend this place highly enough- especially for a couple who would like a luxurious romantic getaway.

Such a gorgeous and comfortable house and beautifully decorated for Christmas too which made it feel really homely. Neil and Sue were lovely and their wonderful dog "Ted" is so friendly! The lamb we had for dinner and the cooked breakfast next day were both amazing and it was definitely one of our favourite places visited throughout New Zealand.

We had an amazing time at Villa Walton. Neil and Sue are amazing hosts and amazing people and made us very welcome + we fell in love with their dog Ted. We loved the dinner with now our new favourite wine :)! and the amazing big breakfasts kept us going almost through out the entire day. I can say for sure that I had a great 29th birthday!

our stay was amazing and highly recommended!! The owners were wonderful and friendly, they made us feel at home and their pup Ted was super adorable too! we loved the most their home style cooking, super delicious Kiwi roast lamb ribs with sticky toffee desserts were one of our favorite dishes this trip!
