Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. We all had a good rest after spending the days at the beach that is only a few minutes away. There was a pool onsite for us to cool off also. We had a little kitchenette and a decent sized fridge/freezer so we had the option to stay in and make dinner in our room instead of going out every night while the kids enjoyed a swim and their grandmother relaxed on the beach chairs close by. After dinner we were able to watch a couple movies as they had Sky TV. We really enjoyed our stay and saved ourselves some money so that was a plus.

Nothing that comes to mind, we had a problem free experience.

Location and owners were wonderful. Unit was super clean and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log. The Sky TV system was excellent. Towel supply was great in room servicing. The owners were working real hard and were a delight to deal with. The pool was great as was the spa pool facility. The location on the main road was near to town and to a great kids park and playground.

Bathroom etc was very dated (80's) with an old Feltonmix mixer ,steel tray with a shower curtain, and plastic bowl for washing dishes in the cupboard. The plastic chairs around the dinner table were so uncomfortable for someone my size as the backrest buckled when leaning back. I had to sit on the bed which due to a back injury was also hard as no backrest. Just a note re general motel supplies -most tea people drink Breakfast tea not the other weird stuff thats always on offer. Better balance of sachets maybe. Rubbish bin wasn't emptied and I had to go in search of rubbish and recycling bins to clear our rubbish. The fridge light also was broken. The motel is under new management and we appreciate that a process of modernisation is pending and in progress.

Couple were very friendly when we arrived..Even got a welcoming small bottle of milk from Richard for a coffee. Unit was clean, well spaced out. Renovations had obviously recently been done and made the kitchen and bathroom look lovely. Beds were comfy and warm all with electric blankets in the bedroom area and the one next to the kitchen. Wall heaters were in both areas as well to help keep us warm on what was a cold night indeed in Waihi. Will definitely visit again.

One heater in kids room we turned on but then i think it powered out and we couldn't get that going again which made it cold. Probably needs replacing.

I was made to feel very welcome on arrival. The staff were very friendly and ensured that my stay was a pleasant one. The information booklet in the room was very informative with places to visit and included the local cafés menu's. The room was well laid out and very comfortable. My stay there was a very enjoyable experience and l would not hesitate booking a room there again.

Location close to gorge and walks. Really comfy beds, had great sleep. Kids enjoyed the pool. Very friendly staff. Great service when we had a couple of small issues.

Unfortunately their cleaners had let them down. But when we pointed out the issues we had, it was fixed quickly and staff was very apologetic. It’s a shame the new cleaners hadn’t done their job properly. The following day the owners went through to make sure everything was done correctly.

The unit had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The saltwater pool was AWESOME!

The place is a little tired and needs maintenence - our unit had a broken window that had cardboard over it and there was a lot of ceiling mold in the bathroom but nothing that interfered with having a very comfortable stay!

The room was clean, bed was comfortable. We thought that possibly the room wasn't used very often as it smelt slightly damp. This didn't stop us enjoying our time there though.

We were rather astounded to find there was no kitchen sink or cooking facilities available in the room, apart from a toaster and a microwave.

Amazing place to stay, We are a Family of 6, and the Big Cabins where very spacious, we like that it was cut off into 2 sections, 1 room had x2 single beds and x1 double bed,also came equipped with Tv and Sky Television this is where Kids slept, and Absolutely LOVED it, They asked every week to go Back, Definitely Hands Down the Best in the Coromandel Region.

It was a clean and comfortable stay at the motel. Even when it wasn't a kitchen room, they provided amenities like a toaster, fridge and microwave which was convenient for having a simple continental breakfast and reheating yesterday's leftovers.

The walls are very thin. You can hear everything including plumbing.

We had the best experience at Palm Motel and I fully recommend this place for small families, only an hour and 45 minute drive from Auckland. The motel is super clean, it has a swimming pool and hot spa, trampoline and BBQ area and most importantly FREE WIFI! Keeps the kids entertained inside and outside, they loved it and didn’t want to leave. Our host Alison and Richard are exceptional. So lovely, welcoming and hospitable. Location is excellent, literally minutes drive into Town and Waihi Beach and the most beautiful Lavender Farm (Dec in full bloom) recommended to me by Richard. Our Family studio we stayed in is very clean, great size too, had all the essentials. Richard checking in, if we needed top up on toilet paper, milk or towels, he was so kind. Amazing place, incredible host, great location, fully recommending this place to friends and family and definitely coming back here again. A++++
