Stayed one night in a one bedroom villa. private and modern. Perfect to be away from home. Celebrated our anniversary and received a complimentary tasting platter and 2 for 1 drinks voucher on arrival to the villa. Staff collected us and our luggage to and from the villa via golf buggy as the main carpark is not in close walking distance - definitely a new experience for us. Fully equipped kitchen. It is great to cook our own meal rather than dining at the restaurant or order room service. Enjoyed a few drinks on the balcony over looking the stunning seaview of the beach and hillsides. Laundry facilities and bathroom amenities. King bed super comfy. Complimentary buffet breakfast which was good Amazing staff and service. Would stay again :)

Fantastic location and Beautiful home! Worth every bit of the cost, truly a hidden gem in New Zealand.

Just nitpicking, this stay is a 10/10. Parking situation was awkward. Asking for a golf cart ride up and down to the guest parking lot proved combersome. Fortunately I don't mind walking but for those who cannot walk uphill well, scheduling a ride to/from the lot can be tricky due to staff availability (0700-1900) and if there is one front desk staff on, it may be awhile before they come. The available hours are great but waiting for staff to pick you up everytime you want to go to your car is awkward, it's easier to just walk yourself. Again, not really a flaw, I'm definitely coming back.

The ladies behind desk were very polite

Breakfast at restaurant was one of the worst ive ever had. Normally have scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns at most places

This location was exceptional. The Villa, the spa and the restaurant was super clean. The couple's massage was amazing. The food at the restaurant across the board was exceptional and very good value for money...it shows that Kiwi's need not pay an arm and a leg for a well-deserved break, this is what I appreciated the most given the current economic crisis. This is by far the best place we have stayed in in NZ over the last 6 years. Well done to the owner of this resort and his staff, and thank you kindy for an amazing 10Y Wedding Anniversary weekend, we could not have asked for a better experience.

Modern, clean, comfortable facilities, with ability to self-cater in well-equipped attractive kitchen. Great view from deck out to ocean. Can sit and watch the sunset with glass of wine in evenings. Top notch!

Distance from facilities and car park. Reliant on golf carts to get to and from restaurant and carpark, unless you walk 1km on steep hills in the cold and dark. (Was end of August). Cold riding on cart. We elected to dine in our villa for two nights of our stay rather than the restaurant because too uncomfortable getting there. Saved us money though! I booked a massage and the cart I had booked didn’t arrive. I walked the (steep downhill then uphill) 1.4km to the premises, and was late. Wasn’t happy.

We stayed in 2 bedroom chalet and the view from the hotel room was amazing. we were able to park our car in front of the room, so didn’t have the problems that were raised by other people. The hotel is situated at the top of the hill and all room types are detached which gives a sense of isolation and privacy. We did feel 2 small tremors in our stay there, which did disrupt our sleep making us feel anxious but as soon as i realised its common in NZ i slept pretty well.

I think the food was bit pricey in my opinion, but its expected as there is no other food place nearby. The outdoor sliding door was not lockable and probably needs a repair. And since the resort is away from light and noise pollution, at night it gets pitch dark, so i think having a functional sliding door is important to feel secure.

The view from the villas is absolutely amazing. If you sit in the lounge or on the veranda you have this 180 degree view of the beach and the sea. Size of villas is big. Although we were only 2 it is big for 4 people as well. Very spacious. The interior is also very nice. Breakfast included was really good. Loved the spa and the stone baths and the personnel were excellent.

The water tank/pump next to the house had this humming/Switching on-off sound the whole time. Ordered room service (dinner) and the food was cold when we got it. There was no top-up of coffee/tea/biscuits or cleaning service.

View is obviously spectacular and the room was very well appointed and spacious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

If you aren’t aware prior to arrival, you can’t take a vehicle anywhere near your room. Golf carts pick you up at a remote car park and transport you and your stuff to your room. Could be tricky if there are several people and if you are self catering. This means there is very little autonomy if you wish to come and go from the property also. The other very weird thing is that there are no privacy blinds in the living area - just see through shade blinds. The villas above and below you have full view into the living area once the lights are on which is quite strange.

Amazing views Amazing staff Amazing place

Parking for the villas makes no sense to have guests park so far away when there are car parks right outside villas that are reserved for the owners only. . guests should be able to access their cars nd come n go as they please without having to call reception for a buggy ride especially when the complex is so spread out nd restaurant is right at the bottom of huge hill...the only other thing is the bed was to singles pushed together which made it very hard in the middle was uncomfortable maybe a topper would be better??...but.otherwise this place is perfection and the staff went over and beyond to make our stay Amazing 💯
