The location is very central, walking distance to prime city landmarks, family bay view room from level 3 was still great for the New Year Eve fireworks, the room is quiet even with the main road right under. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great, includes variety of foods as well as hot foods like sausages, bacon, scrambled, boiled, poached egg, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, salads .. Love the family room setting that one double bed is actually another room away from the other. Love the natural feel and nice smell of the shampoo/conditional/body wash supplies. Pool/gym included is with a local pool/gym that's 2 minutes away from the hotel and it's very well equipped and right at the bay that offers great view of the beach and the bay.

Parking is limited, but we can easily find paid parking right on front street ($3.5/hr, free between 8am-8pm)

Great for a one night stay in Wellington. Walkable to harbour, town, restaurants. Good restaurant on site - located on bridge between 2 buildings so need to ask for a window seat as far to the left if you want a view. If you are in the second building at the back make sure your room is to the far right on floor 8 or 9 then you get view of the harbour / coast. Clean room, comfy bed good selection of toiletries , friendly staff - good breakfast .

Only 2 pillows on the bed and they were not the best, one spare in the cupboard but not good if their are two of you sharing. Likewise only one chair in the room so only one person could sit down at one time Would have been good to have air conditioning as it is very windy in Wellington, so with the window/ patio door open the wind howls through so spent the night very hot

Location. Great spot within walking distance of shops. Room had a very warm, welcoming feel about it. Also had a modern feel to it. Loved that there was a bath too. Handy - not that we used it, but to have an ironing board + iron in the room too was cool. Staff were warm, friendly, and helpful too. The tv experienced a glitch. And after we tried staff advice, it wasn't an issue for staff to come up and help us in person. Two elevators were awesome. They always worked and wait times to use it were always good.

The fridge in the room would work, then have drips like it didn't work then it would work again. It's an interesting design to the fridge ay with the 4th foot of it attached to the door. Just made it lose It's balance when in use causing items in the fridge to move, sometimes fall forward. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed staying @ Copthorne Hotel for our family's Christmas.

I can't imagine a better view of Oriental Bay or Wellington. The location is brilliant, I had a hire care which I was able to park at the hotel for a fee but worth it. Once at the hotel, everything is walkable with great restaurants close by, a supermaket across the road and stunning view from the upper restaurant. I enjoyed a lovely coffee up there on my last day but as I was travelling for a wedding, I didn't get a chance to eat there. The staff are delightful, very friendly and knowledgable of the surroundings with recommendations for my road trip.

Literally nothing!

The location of the Copthorne in Oriental Bay is first rate, easy walking distance to Te Papa Museum, Wellington Harbour boardwalk and even the city centre (CBD). The car parking was a real bonus at $30 for a day it made for a great stay and no worries about the car. The views from the window over Wellington Harbour and towards the Hutt valley were fantastic and were exactly what we had hoped for.

The room was a little tired and could definitely do with a bit of TLC, however, it was clean and easily accessed. The breakfasts were adequate but the area could do with some refurbishment.

This is a very well-positioned hotel with lovely views across the harbour. Our room was clean and tidy, we especially liked how the other queen bed was separated from the main suite. The beds themselves were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and surprisingly good value, a nice dining area and a wide range of food to choose from. The service from the staff in the restaurant was outstanding.

The premium location of the hotel means that vehicle access and parking is a little tricky - small drop-off area and limited overnight parking ($30) around the back of the hotel - secure but uncovered. The staff in general were ok (excellent in restaurant) but the reception crew could have been a little more welcoming - it felt a bit awkward. Finally, just a heads-up that the rooms are relatively modern but are starting to look a little worn. And if anyone reads this, having a fridge inside a non-vented cupboard is not a good idea (heat). Thanks for the complimentary milk though :)

Smiling and courteous reception staff members. They did the best to address specific needs such as providing me drinking water in the jug. Good accessibility to te papa museum and other spots. Public transport nearby. Room size is good. The sea view from the balcony is amazing. I recommend this hotel for your stay.

There can be more options for hot breakfast for vegetarians and vegan. Put some signage in the room for indicating heater and how to use it. It took a while to understand it. Your hotel has travellers from all the parts of the world. You can't assume that they will know the using equipments. Had to ask to provide body wash as by mistake housekeeping had not put it. But the service was prompt.

Views over looking the harbour is fantastic at night... and the balcony was used plenty of times to sip a drink and enjoy the views. The bed was very comfortable, clean and fresh.

Need to provide more tea bags - especially when three staying. Only two english breakfast tea bags per day... but as the hotel is 5 mins walk, close to supermarket.. i bought my own. Oh and one of the lifts was out of order for the entire 3 days ...which slowed down the our time to go up to the sixth floor and down again.. and the stairs are external only, via the fire exit.

We upgraded to a front room. View was spectacular. Two double beds but with the bathroom between the bed spaces meant it felt like it was separate sleeping areas which was ideal to eliminate snoring concerns. Enjoyed delicious Cloudy Bay wine in the bar and lounge area which is a lovely big space with plenty of comfortable chairs. Jessica at reception was welcoming, professional and friendly.

The food from the restaurant was average at a push. As a group we shared a pizza, chicken Caesar, dumplings, kumara fries. Kumara Fries were the best but the rest was only eaten to fill a hole, not particularly enjoyed which was such a shame, as the space and wine and company were great.

The staff was friendly, location very close to Te Papa, room nice and modern and spacious enough. Breakfast buffet selection was nice and everything cooked well, even the poached eggs.

With this view, it would be nice to have clean windows. Also in the small room, mood lighting was horrible, not nice to read before sleeping. The shower curtains were all over the place, for this cost guests shouldn't need to find hooks/latches to do its work. Lastly, at breakfast we had a long hair in our bacon. Other than that the breakfast was lovely. It's not very accessible by public transport but we knew that.
