We loved our room, the online pics do not do it justice. A quirky, kitsch, kiwiana theme, which was novel and stylishly done. The room was large and airy. We had a lovely balcony with amazing views over the harbour, Waitangi park and city skyline. The minibar was well stocked with a wide range of artisan kiwi drinks and snacks. The bed was very comfortable and clean, with good pillows and bedding. A Smart TV with all the tech you need. Loved the record player and vinyl. Plenty of seating, counters and tables. We personally loved the glass walled bathroom, with heated floors, free standing bath, dual sinks and incredible assortment of top quality bathroom products. We live rurally, and though there was city noise, as is to be expected from such a busy part of the city, it did not disturb our sleep at all. The overnight parking is a stroll through Waitangi park to Te Papa, which needs to be considered when checking in, or out, but was easy to sort at the front desk and worked for us. The hotel itself is in a great location for easy walking to restaurants, bars, movies, museums, parks and the waterfront. The staff were all warm and helpful, the champagne on arrival was a nice touch and the downstairs cafe had a great simple breakfast menu and great coffee which we really enjoyed. Its so nice to find such a gem of a boutique hotel with character and attention to detail and we will definately be back.

The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. Right on the waterfront. 5 minutes walk to Te Papa Museum. Staff were wonderful. Welcome drinks on arrival, special homemade muffins for Matariki day. It is a small intimate hotel, but we liked that. The staff know who you are and are ready with a smile and personal greeting. Breakfast was included in our stay and was lovely.

The bathroom may not be to everyone's taste as it is a glass enclosure with a curtain that you can pull across for privacy. As you are on quite a busy road, it can get a little noisy, but we didn't notice that at night. Water in the shower ran cold a few times when using it but only for a few seconds. Just a suggestion - offer guests the option to reuse towels to help save water etc.

Staff were all fabulous.. had a mix up with the rooms and they sorted it prior to arrival. The breakfasts were fabulous and freshly cooked. Location spot on for exploring the city Rooms very spacious and clean with everything you needed and we were treated to a grazing board to enjoy with a bottle of bubbles in our room.. perfect

Parking is available on street 8am to 8pm but outside this time you need to move /feed meter or park further afield in a car park.. but it is in a city centre after all.

I had an outstanding experience at this hotel! The customer service was truly exceptional, and the location couldn't have been better. The room was beautifully designed, and the breakfast was a delightful treat. The staff was incredibly friendly and made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Special thanks to Szandra, Clinton, and all the other staff members for their outstanding hospitality. I look forward to returning and staying with them again on my next trip.

The mid-century modern vibe was great and the room furnishings were not hotel “homogenized.” This was furniture I’d like in my home! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The little breakfast area wasn’t serving, instead we got a voucher for a restaurant that was a short walk away and really exceeded our expectations. The location was good and near many restaurants.

Parking was somewhat of a hassle since the choice was either a short walk away or street parking which would have involved paying $10 for two hours. There could be a little more shelf space in the bathroom.

The view was wonderful, location fantastic, bed was super comfy and the bathroom spectacular. As it was our anniversary they left us a wee treat which was much appreciated. And being able to specify what milk was in the fridge for us ( almond) was awesome. And being able to order memory foam pillows was a nice option. We had a few issues negotiating the parking system, but a quick phone call and all was sorted. We were allowed to check in early as our room was ready, and check out 45mins late as we were doing Round the bays. We will absolutely recommend to friends!

Loved having the record player and records... but it didn't work so we didn't get to play them. The neighbours in the next room were smoking on the balcony and it was blowing in our room... but it wasn't worth causing any issues as we were enjoying our time at the Ohtel.

Location was good. Very clean and lovely staff. Complementary glass of wine was a nice touch.

Hot water was not hot. Had to boil jug three times to put into the bath to make it hot enough and boil jug so my husband could shave. We have just stayed at another Auckland property and thought they had turned hot water down as well but there was a problem so maybe we should have mentioned this as it needs to be checked.

Spacious, comfortable and very stylish room. Friendly staff in small, boutique style hotel. Very close to Te Papa museum, a slightly longer (but very manageable) walk to main restaurant and bar areas. On a main road but sound-proofing excellent so very quiet. Lovely outlook.

Wi-Fi very intermittent. The hotel tried to fix this but unsuccessfully.

The suite is an excellent room, really big, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Lots of amenities and range of food drink in mini bar for not outrageous prices.

Busy street outside with a fair bit of rowdy foot traffic over the road. Not massively disturbing but still something that you notice. Would have been handy to have a few more items of crockery in room but you can probably get it from downstairs easily enough.

Excellent location. Generous sized rooms. Fabulous décor. Probably the best boutique hotel in Wellington.

We have stayed here before and it is a beautiful hotel, excellent location and wonderful décor. Love this place. But this time it was spoilt by the fact that our room was freezing when we arrived and it took many hours to get it to heat up. May have just been that particular room - at the back - and that the heat pump wasn't working as well as it should. Once we alerted staff they were very helpful. So I would recommend this place, just check that the heating is working first rather than hoping it will eventually kick in!
