Location amazing for our wedding, breakfast nice although we had to keep waiting for extras as we had a lot of people staying. Our wedding venue was great and most of the staff were lovely.
The bedrooms were clean and spacious but the bed and pillows a bit firm for my liking. Could do with a bit of TLC in places but liked the character of the building. Had one problem with bar staff on the evening do being rude to a member of my wedding party, and a but of lack in communication regarding the remainder of our wedding cake being thrown away after we told them we would like to keep it!

Beautiful setting in a lovely old country house. Liked that it’s dog friendly. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast.
We liked the fact that the property is dog friendly however we decided to eat at the property in the evening but as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant we had to eat in the bar or the drawing room which in itself is ok. However there are no proper tables to sit at and we had to eat our food on a very low bar table sat in lounge chairs. This was the same for breakfast which we had in the drawing room but this was ok. Dinner was more difficult. Maybe a couple of proper tables could be provided for those with dogs.

The location was perfect. Lovely and quiet. Great for parking. We had booked a table in the restaurant before our arrival, and the 3-course meal we had was delicious. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. The fan in the bathroom worked well and the mirror didn't mist up. We went for a walk before breakfast, which was very pleasant. The breakfast room was delightful and had a great layout of food on offer. The cooked breakfast was probably one of the best that I've ever had in a hotel. We'd stay again if we're down here.
Our room was OK. However, it could do with being updated and refreshed as it was a little 'tired'. The lighting wasn't brilliant. The bathroom was again a little tired and needed some TLC. The shower was a bit tricky to operate as the temperature gauge wasn't great. The water was coming out of both the tap and shower head simultaneously but at different temperatures!

The room was absolutely beautiful and in a fantastic setting. The sofas were very comfortable. Lots of space in the room to store clothes etc. the staff were so helpful and friendly.
There seemed to be an issue with noisy plumbing. Several times during the night I was woken by someone else either flushing their chain or running a tap. The noise in our room was very loud. The breakfast was a a bit cold and lots of things were missing and we had to ask for them. It might be good to have someone keep an eye on the levels of bread, hot water etc. It is a not a cheap breakfast so perhaps it could be improved. The pillows were somewhat lumpy … and all different.

Very peaceful yet accessible for Bristol if you don't want to stay in the centre. We have stayed several times...comfortable room and nice bar etc Good breakfast It is an old house which we like ...a little tired in the bathroom but stil absolutely fine and very clean. Good value for the price especially compared with other central Bristol hotels We enjoyed our stay and will certainly stay again There was a wedding going on but we asked for and were given a room far away which was perfectly quiet Ample easy parking
Bathroom could be refreshed a bit but clean

Grounds to the hotel are extensive and beautiful. Walked my dog off the lead and she loved it. Spotted a deer and a fox early morning. Hotel staff very cheerful and helpful, a real pleasure. The bed was extremely comfortable, pillows too. Rooms quiet, water hot. Bar had a real ale which was lovely as so many places only do larger now. The food was good enough, pork loin was quite tough but the rest on offer was nice if a little pricey. I stayed 2 nights and ate both nights on my own with my dog in the lounge, I felt perfectly at ease. All in all a very nice experience.
Standard of food for the price could be improved although the actual menu was good.

Room good size Bed comfortable Bathroom clean and a realistic size Good facilities Breakfast excellent We also had an evening meal which was lovely but service was distracted due to an event being staged at the hotel.
Room very hot when we arrived Tried to turn radiator off and I could not Turned down completely and no change so before we left I returned to original settings so the staff would realise it was to warm. We were leaving early and had little time to report. Receptionist was busy when leaving

We got a free upgrade to the bridal suite which was very welcome. The bed was great, couldn't complain about anything. The room was a good size, with a large sofa and additional chairs. The windows were large which allowed a lot of light to come in. Was greeted with a good amount of coffee, tea, and even an espresso machine. TV was a good size for the room. The surrounding area was beautiful, with a large, grand looking tree just outside the entrance. The breakfast was also good, with a mixture of continental and full english style, all for a reasonable price.
Bathroom was a bit dated. The view outside wasn't great as it faced the back of the property. The road leading up to the property was very poor quality, with signficant pot holes along the route. The radiator in the room was quite loud and I was unable to turn it off, even after talking with reception.

The location of the hotel is lovely. We came there for my husband's birthday weekend away and I'd mentioned it whilst booking the place. My words can't express the hospitality provided by the hotel staff. We've got a free room upgrade, a box of chocolates and a happy birthday card, a white table cloth with sparkling bits for our dinner, all drinks on the house and an amazing Happy Birthday desert. My husband was just speechless after every little surprise delivered by the hotel. I cannot thank them enough for the service and hospitality. Best ever stay!
Everything was perfect 👌

Really lovely hotel. The room was very spacious, plenty of space even with a baby cot in the room. Great sized bed, and very comfy too. Breakfast was delicious, and plenty of choice of cooked, or continental. The staff were very friendly and ready to help where necessary.
It would have been beneficial if there was a lift to the rooms as it was difficult getting to the room while carrying a baby and the luggage. The pillow linen had a few stains on, possibly makeup from previous guests.
