Gorgeous Interior, staff & facilities. Definitely staying again. I travel a lot with work and this is the best hotel/Inn I have stayed in. The food is outstanding, what a great Chef. I had the crab lasagne for dinner with desert and the breakfast of eggs Benedict was delicious too. Boasts fabulous friendly staff. A five star from me. Thank you very very much.

Beautiful old Inn in a beautiful quiet location,cosy and Friendly.

Thought there could be more menu choices as it appeared limited.

Staff was very welcoming, room was clean, enjoyed sitting in the cosy frontroom upstairs instead of sitting in your room. Large carpark to park your car.

Breakfast was lovely but wasnt help urself (for example love fruit on my cereal so you had to have one or the other. Our room was above the pub downstairs so was noisy till 10pm. Shower lost power throughout bit did the job. The pub menu didn't have much choice and was on the dear side.

What an absolute gem of a find! A brilliant B&B, with the nicest team and tastiest food. Good old traditional pub downstairs and stylish rooms upstairs. Bathroom looked as though it had been through a recent glow-up. Never got to have a bath, 100% next time! We were in Room 4, a family room and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us to potter about and not fall over eachother. Breakfast was QUEEN. Lots of lovely breakfast dishes on offer. And finally, there was a lovely young lady who worked every part of the B&B. I didn't get her name but she was fabulous and so helpful.

Two small points here, which is why I've given 9/10. We were in Room 4 and the day bed was VERY squeaky. My son had that bed and every little turn meant a huge squeak... The pressure of the shower was pretty terrible, such a shame in a beautiful bathroom. I know it's probably down to being an old building and distance to the boiler etc however it made showering quite difficult, rinsing of the soap took a while 😂 however my FAM and I still had a wonderful stay ❤️

Lovely traditional Inn with ample off road parking. We received a very friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was snug, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Included an ensuite toilet and shower (similarly spotless), TV, tea and coffee facilities and a very comfy bed. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was good and the food excellent. During our stay we tried the full breakfast, eggs Benedict and porridge. All lovely.

There's very little not to like.

Really relaxed location. We had the studio until we decided to add an extra room for our son. The staff were amazing, food excellent, room spacious, environment really relaxing. The 17th century ambiance definitely there - will stay again

Only thing, not material, was noise from the rooms above the studio bumping from the family and noise from the pool table area. Should stop at 10, but the lads were having a loud fun time LOL. Does not detract from the overall experience though.

We found the drinks a bit expensive Our room (11) was above the bar I would check before booking which rooms are available if they are having live music & you want a quiet break.They had a country western night on the Friday.. very quiet on Saturday It didn't bother us, but it may others Rooms on other side will be quieter

Loved the atmosphere and the staff all friendly and welcoming. Rooms were well equipped and beds very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was a slight issue. Public Rooms were well furnished and the decor and style were what you would expect when staying at a 17th Century Inn

Slight Downside was the food on the first night of our two night stay. We ordered the special 'Grouse'. The presentation looked good but the meat was tough and the vegetables lacked flavour. Second night food was better. It seems that for cost reasons most Pubs, Inns and small Hotels buy in meals rather than cook fresh on the premises with a Chef working hard turning local produce into good food.

Service at breakfast was not as good as usual this time We had to Wait for a while before we could be seated as no one there and then another wait to be served Then once we got breakfast no one came back out so we were hoping for more toast (only one slice each person) Luckily another lady came in so we could ask her. All in all just a bad morning as forth time we stayed here and we will stay again

It was a lovely place, friendly staff , Sam was great , chatty and very helpful. Breakfast was really nice , good choice of cooked or cereals etc , vegan options available as well Had dinner first evening which was freshly cooked and very welcome after a 6hr drive . Bedroom small but perfect for a couple of nights , was facing the front car park but very quiet considering.
