Gorgeous hotel, very impressive drive up, full of history. Lovely staff, comfortable well appointed rooms, really great sleep on lovely beds. Really enjoyable stay

Nothing, although we were coming for an event in Chepstow and not enjoying a ‘resort’ stay as such. For our purposes I would have liked to be on a travel route so I didn’t have to drive into town, and it meant we couldn’t make the most of the spa facilities during this stay. I couldn’t book into the restaurant and so had to have a bar meal which was of good quality but had to eat outside as the tables inside were full of drinkers enjoying sports on TV. I would definitely come back to stay here as a destination in itself, but would be sure to book into the restaurant in advance.

We were able to check in early which was really helpful as we were going to a wedding. Our room was spacious, airy and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. All hotel staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. Leisure centre staff, especially Kayleigh were also extremely nice and friendly and kept us notified of changes to our treatment appointments. Massage therapist Christina was amazing. Breakfast was really good. Emily in the dining room was lovely as were all other staff we spoke to.

Little bit noisy at times in some areas where decorating work was being carried out but I doubt that can be helped and is obviously only temporary. Breakfast was good but a bit expensive.

Room was great with a lovely view over the golf course. Had a really great lunch in the trophy bar. Easy to arrange taxis into Chepstow for the evening one night and staff very helpful with restaurant and taxi recommendations.

Whilst obviously served by the same kitchen the food coming out of the grill both evening and breakfast was poor. We had to send some items back at dinner. Breakfast was lukewarm at best, low supplies of yoghurts and some of the produce like the scrambled e.g. was powdery. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic

Real Christmassy feel outside and in the reception area. Staff really helpful and gave us a free drinks voucher for my partners birthday. We had a drink by the wood burner in the evening which was a lovely start to the night. Large bed, very comfortable. Check out not until 12 which was a real bonus as could use the spa facilities for longer.

The part of the hotel we were staying in looked a bit outdated in the corridors in comparison to the rest of the hotel. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner as well as the swimming pool but was all satisfactory especially considering the reasonable price we paid for this time of year.

Old period building Manor house type of experience currently undergoing refurbishment, in lovely grounds didn't get our early check as requested checked in normal time 3:00 pm room was very nice.

Nothing in particular apart from the wake up early morning 5:30 am to 06:00 am by Lorry delivery truck stopped outside our bedroom window with engine running for duration of its delivery & the noise of pallets being offloaded via ramp at back if truck etc but compensated for by a concessionary payment on check out

We stayed here for two night's, even though we don't play golf. Our accommodation in the Pierre Village was unusual but we liked the privacy of it and it is good for families. The swimming pool and gym were both enjoyable. We had dinner in the bar area, which was very nice. The breakfast, both mornings is excellent, lots to choose from. Overall, as a family we enjoyed our stay here.

If we were being pernickety, the only thing would be that the shower head in our bathroom wasn't working properly.

I rated this hotel higher because I had such a great stay last time. Lovely grounds and the people are really friendly. Especially love the nature watching the ducks on the lake and hearing the owls in the trees, the calming effect of this is why I returned. Pool is nice and leisure staff very friendly.

Had to change room past midnight because of something scratching in the roof cavity past midnight and got moved to a smaller room. Not particularly clean in either bathroom, the first had a very dead spider that had clearly been there a while, the second a live leggy spider above the bath which when I came back and the room had been “cleaned” was still there. So cold in both rooms I had to wear a jumper in bed with the radiator on. Key stopped working halfway through which didn’t help. Then spa charge for 55 minutes treatment which was actually 30 mins plus getting changed time before and after which was in T&C small print but never had this before at a spa.

Beautiful settings love the country side and lot of choice of pubs and restaurants to eat nearby. Food was good in the hotel too good choice of breakfast. Staff very welcoming and pleasant. Receptionist very efficient and helpful didn't have to wait long to check in. Water was provided in the rooms. Rooms warm and cosy. Overall we had a great stay not forgetting spa very nice and had everything (accept water in the spa) we went to celebrate new year love the Xmas decorations ambience of hotel ❤️ hotel is like old Fort well maintained

Beautiful authentic mansion and magnificent territory. Silent and comfortable place. The room was spacious and had a magnificent view of the lake

Restaurant. Definitely overpriced, not the best food. The staff spends all their attention on catering banquets and events - being a guest of the hotel in the restaurant, I felt a little superfluous. Orders were given slowly, it was difficult to find waiters in the hall, I waited for half an hour until someone appeared in the hall to ask for the bill. However, I still think that it’s a great hotel.

Staff all friendly and happy. Massage was lovely (pay extra for it). Pool , jacuzzi steam and sauna area all good and spacious. Plenty of room for getting changed and showered etc . Nice shower gels , also towels if required. Plenty choice for breakfast, nice food . Fair choice of ales etc. Nice room overlooking the lake

Would have liked more seating in area overlooking lake near our room. Only one bench and couldn't actually see the view due to the shrubbery having grown rather large
