Excellent value for money at this friendly hotel and pub. Considering the price we paid, it exceeded our expectations. Staff were always chatty and helpful. The breakfast was superb. Free parking outside and directly on bus routes to get in to the city, which we did daily. The room was fine - perhaps a little dated - and perfectly adequate for a city break. The pub itself was a lovely place to eat and have a drink in the evening. Overall, an excellent place to stay and we’d definitely book here again.

The mattress in our room was far too firm for us.

Lovely building. Very quiet location; no noise apart from the birds in the morning. Cosy room and good amenities (dressing table, full length mirror, tea tray, wardrobe etc). Enough bed linen and towels. Location ideal for what we wanted to see/do: 20 mins by bus (every 10 mins) from the airport; 15-20 mins by bus (several going every few mins) to the city centre; 20 mins walk from the zoo. Bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast (a la.carte) was good. Would definitely return.

Mattress rather too firm for my liking (and I like a firmer mattress). Room quite compact but they did have more spacious ones. Walls quite thin in the hotel so could be noisy when it's busier.

Great location, short bus ride from airport and central Edinburgh. Bus Stop outside. Breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh on request with everything you could possibly want. Room was clean and well presented. The bed!! I wish I could have taken it home with me. Sooo cosy. We slept very well. Staff were friendly, helpful and chatty. Very accommodating when we requested things. would definitely stay again.

We were a little concerned about the kitchen noises when we arrived but once they closed the kitchen down in the evening they switched the fans etc off and then was peaceful.

Staff very friendly and hospitable, couldn’t fault them at all. Lovely little hotel, perfect for a weekend break. Good transport links to city center, short walk to the zoo. Dinner was very reasonably priced and filled us up nicely. The breakfast was excellent, tables already set up for us when we got down and a good selection.

Parking is limited on site but we didn’t have a problem getting in, especially during the day before the pub opens we were the only car there.

Lovely stay and staff extremely friendly. Breakfasts were good and rooms clean. Overall really happy with the stay and location is excellent for transport links. Bus 2 minute walk and train station enroute to city centre on the bus or walk in 20 minutes.

No central heating in our room as broken so provided a lovely electric radiator initially and then two smaller ones, which were not so good especially in the cold snap.

Staff were super helpful. Could park outside the guest house. Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner. So easy to get to Edinburgh centre and all attractions. Very spacious room Sent

Great location overlooking Murrayfield and not too far from Haymarket Station! Room was massive and the bed was incredibly comfy. Staff incredibly welcoming and nice to have the pub downstairs

Unfortunately the shower only produced cold water and as I was on a schedule to catch a train in the morning I didn't have time to ask the hotel to try and fix it so no shower which is a really important morning activity for me

old word charm outside but lovely, clean indoors. pub food was really quite good. nice selection, very tasty and reasonably priced. Nice selection of beers and drinks overall. staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

bit difficult to see that it was a hotel from the outside. looked more like a pub/restaurant. saying that the pun was very convenient for dinner after a long day of travel.

I wanted somewhere that was close to the city as this was my first visit t to Edinburgh the room was just what i was looking for bed was most comfortable and was able to get a goon nights sleep the breakfast was top quality and set me up for the day so i return forb a meal in the evening

always room for improvement but i was happy with my stay service was good so nothing to complain about ideal for some one visiting the city

Lovely little place with lovely staff(especially one man didn't get his name,possibly a manager(he was there every evening of our stay) , nothing was too much trouble for him he was always happy to help us out. Breakfast was good ,so was the evening meals, Location is perfect, very central to everything within walking distance and lots of public transport. Thank you made my birthday I would definitely come back
