Bed was big and comfortable. My daughters and I shared the room and it was a comfortable size for all of us. I also liked having a restaurant on site for meals . Food was really good.

Theres not much I didnt like about it. The exterior bar area seemed to not fit with the beautiful interior. I guess they use it for community events and the football stadium is so close , Im sure they get a large overflow crown on game days there. I wish that area was a little more intimate for guests only. No lift available. If your room is upstairs, you have to lug your suitcase up three flights.

The look of the hotel. The quirky sofas and lamp ( lamp wasn’t on during the evening) on the front are pretty nice. The swing table is lovely and I love quirky. Lighting outside the hotel on the ground could be made to be more inviting with street appeal but overall a nice stay. Having the garden access from my room was a bonus in nice weather. Fan was a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing.

Maybe afew touch ups here and there. Main house, garden in plant pots rotten in weather could be replaced and a little upkeep needed. Outside my room was a hoover and a pair of trainers that must belong to the housekeeping team. Just adding a little love to the entrance on the house. Also the blind doesn’t fully fit the door. Biscuits in room with complimentary bottle of water per guest in the fridge upon arrival would be nice to offer in addition to the tea and coffee.

The hotel is perfectly situated to Murrayfield stadium, just across the road. There is a bus stop just outside with regular buses into the city centre. The breakfast was first class, I had to laugh when the waitress called the Full Breakfast a " Full English", which it wasn't as it had haggis in it🤣 I hope the locals aren't offended 🤣. Staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends and family.

The outside needs to be cleaned regularly as cutlery and empty jam pots were on the table the whole 3 days of our visit as we're the very full ashtrays. It just needs some time and care to match the inside. My only gripe about the room is that the quilt is too small for the bed. It only just covers the bed, so when you turn over in bed, the other person is left with hardly any quilt😳

Lovely old traditional Edinburgh building. Rooms had everything needed, very large and comfortable bed, large tv, tea and coffee, good shower. Ours, on the ground floor even had a sitting out area. Nice, free, hot chocolate, water and apples available in reception area. Bar area very nice, and even though we never got a chance to try the restaurant, the food looked and smelled very nice. All the staff, hotel and bar, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel manager even went and bought a toothbrush for my sister, who had forgotten to pack hers. Whilst not in the very centre of Edinburgh, there are bus stops 1 minute walk from the hotel, and the very frequent busses take about 10 minutes to get onto Princes street.

One minor gripe, the coffee cups n the rooms are very small, would be better with proper mugs - no big deal 😊

Very tastefully decorated and fitted out, the room was genuinely lovely and the overall theme and style of the property made us feel instantly at home. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, bed was comfortable and the room was silent, seemed to be very well insulated which is always a plus.

Not a dislike per se but we had some initial confusion finding the reception as the hotel seems to be split amongst a couple of different buildings along one street. Better signage to direct guests to reception would definitely be a welcome improvement. Nothing other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and would return.

The staff were friendly, and attentive, room was clean and well appointed. Location was easy to reach with the bonus of being in walking distance to the tram station. Nice wee bar attached with a barman who made a mean pina colada

Minor things, no tissues, the loo roll was hard and cheap(not good as substitute tissue) windows wouldnt open, it was a warm day and night. The kitchen could be over run with tours / large bookings which meant a late evening meal or no evening meal, even if you were guests.

The location of the hotel was great. A little far to walk towards the town, but there’s a bus station right outside the hotel that goes into town. Really convenient and only takes about 10 - 15 mins to get there. The garden room was beautiful and spacious, beds are comfy and clean. There’s even ample of plug points which we absolutely love! There’s even a bar at the hotel that serves reasonably priced beers.

We stayed for 1 night in February. We secured an excellent off peak rate. Room was clean, comfortable and in a great location. The city centre was only a short bus ride or taxi away. In the other direction the airport was easily assesdibkr. Perfect for a later than usual check in time.

There was a lot of noise around 4.30am. A delivery driver was in the hotel car park right outside our window shouting away on the phone. I'm not sure if he was delivering something to the hotel or not but it was very annoying. Not exactly the hotel's fault but something for them to be aware of.

The Murrayfield Hotel is delightful - a well laid out, charming hotel with cosy rooms and a restaurant and bar serving decent fare. The staff are lovely, and, although a little busy, always happy to help out with any requests. Our room was excellent, a lovely size, and we actually spent New Year's Day lounging around watching the television, as it was so comfy. The hotel's in a good spot, too - not far from the centre of town, and easily reached by a short bus or taxi ride.

One thing about the location is that it is naturally next to the Murrayfield Rugby Stadium, which means it can get a little lively in the bar at times. We thankfully weren't bothered by it too much, but I can see that having large groups of people shouting and cheering might not be everyone's ideal.

No parking was available although booked in advance and was told parking didn't need to be reserved. The ironing board fell to pieces. The bedside lamps didn't work and needed new bulbs. Bed was hard The cleaning staff didn’t make the bed fully or put new towels or toilet rolls in the bathroom even though they had been in. I'd recommend that the rooms are checked more frequently for simple things like bulbs, ironing facilities etc.as this is just laziness
