Beautiful old hotel (needs a bit updating and freshen up ) Staff were really helpful. Rooms were large as was bathroom. Everything you needed was provided.

Only thing I would say is you should get option of breakfast preference. You shouldn't have to pay for a cooked breakfast.

Great location; on-site parking; gave us a room on the side of the hotel that we requested; upgrade to cooked breakfast; good breakfast selection; attractive atrium; lovely big bathroom; good-sized room; comfortable beds; pleasant reception staff

Only on one day did the staff successfully give one of us mushrooms and the other not, at breakfast; couldn't turn on the main heating in the room (but they did provide an oil-filled radiator and it worked well); pillows either too high (two) or too low (one), but that's the case most places; on-site restaurant food decent but service questionable (waiters seem to want to help but don't have the language capability) and the restaurant is also expensive

It was my second time in this hotel and it won't be the last one 😍 this hotel is really incredible, whether it is the beauty of the place (it is really really gorgeous, it looks like palace) or the location which is right next to the train station and the bus station, which is very convenient if you arrive from Edinburgh, because after a long drive you want to be at the hotel quickly, or the kindness of everyone, the receptionists, the people who take care of cleaning, the bartenders, the waiters, everyone is amazing! and of course the rooms which reflect the beauty of the hotel! so beautiful, very clean, comfy and not very noisy for the city center! it's always a pleasure to stay here 😍

There is nothing we didn’t like.

The location, central Inverness, is ideal. There is limited parking outside the hotel that is free. The reception area is very impressive. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom clean. Situated next to the railway station.

The continental breakfast was just passible. The evening meal, included in a special offer, was again just passible. I would not have used the restaurant at the menu prices as I considered them high for what you received. We also had a free cocktail 🍸 each. We'll forget that, just a dash of spirit, tasteless. If you give a free cocktail, can you make it as you would a regular purchase? Otherwise, don't bother it refelects on your reputation The decor of our room 111 was tired but functional.

I’ve been here twice before. This was a quick overnight stay arriving at 00:10 and leaving at 07:45. So I didn’t have the time to relish more than my room. It was a comfortable clean room with a nice view over the main shopping square. I slept, washed and rested well before zipping off for the morning coach. The staff were pleasant and understanding when I explained my late arrival and very short stay.

Totally overpriced for what I benefit and convenience I had in one short stay. For 7.5 hours I paid £21.33 for each hour! It was safer, more convenient and warmer than a park bench, so I’m glad I stayed.

Everything was fantastic, took my daughter for birthday treat and it couldn't have been better. Food delicious, haggis, tatties and neeps in whisky sauce, delicious, salmon was huge! And cooked to perfection. Drinks a little on the pricy side. Room was huge, and very clean and fresh smelling. beds very clean and comfy 😌. Staff very polite and attentive, nice and friendly. Continental breakfast was fine, plenty of choice. We had to stay another night due to travel disruptions because of the storm Babet, what a shame...not! Would have been happy to stay longer. Inverness was lovely, no bad weather as such, 4 seasons in a day, but nothing extreme, we were lucky.

We personally didn't like the art on the floor upstairs. Bit odd. Apart from that everything surpassed our expectations, I really can't understand the bad reviews. It is a bit tired looking in places. But it is an old hotel.

Perfect location, right beside the town centre and railway station. The foyer itself is beautiful, and if you're lucky enough to get an upgrade, it will definitely make your stay special, although the normal rooms are fine, but some are looking a bit tired. The restaurant food is excellent and breakfast is more than adequate. The hotel is dog friendly, which is a bonus. Finally the staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble and special mention has to go to Ismail (hope I spelt that right) who seemed to be there from morning til night and his attention to detail and customer care was second to none.

Nothing! Have visited this hotel on several occasions and have had excellent service every time.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and cosy and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is old but the decor is still good. Location is excellent dozens pf restaurants and pubs within ten minutes walk.

There is parking but very little. As it is not a busy time of year I managed to secure a space with only having to wait 15 minutes but in the summer I imagine that cars will have to be parked in local public car parks.

This is a lovely historic hotel with friendly staff and the common parts are in good decorative order. The continental breakfast was adequate but we weren't too impressed with the dinner so ate elsewhere on the second night. We loved Inverness and the hotel is in a great location so we have booked it for a week next year and are looking forward to returning.

We were disappointed with the original room we were given - the toilet wouldn't flush! But they changed the room which was much better and overlooked the railway station platform, which my partner loved :-)

Located literally next door to the railway station, this is a grand Victorian hotel from the later 19th century heyday of highland tourism, the reception area being particularly redolent thereof. Our room was massive, with plenty of space for clothes, luggage, chargers etc. Inverness restaurants get fully booked pretty quickly, so you might want to reserve something if you're staying over a weekend.

The continental breakfast was unworthy of the splendid Victorian ballroom it's served in - at least get decent croissants and put out cheese that's not in sachets. If you fancy an English breakfast, I'd head to one of the greasy spoons around the nearby bus station.
