the hotel a fantastic position with great views of the sea. the rooms were comfortable and clean

We chose not to eat in the hotel, we may have decided otherwise if there was a menu available in our room to tempt us, and from other guest comments understood it was pricey. We did have breakfast which was a bit disorganised with some little but essential things missing - we had to ask for napkins, butter knife, serving spoons for the cold buffet - so did not live up to the price tag of the hotel. Service charge is added to every item even just a pot of tea - I just wish hotels could be honest with their pricing rather than hide the true cost by adding service charge to everything

The staff really made it. Many thanks for a very relaxing time. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and if you wanted a chat they always made time (Charlie). They also gave good advice on places to visit especially Lucy who recommended visiting St Just in Roseland church and the foot ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth and her son for the coastal walk and all the other staff in the restaurant. The rooms are very clean, tidy and relaxing.

Nonething at all.

Beautiful location, comfortable room, modern where you want it (bathroom, fridge, big bed, wifi etc) and traditional where you want that (bar/lounge log fire, service, breakfast etc). Nice balcony with furniture and a view, great cookies and water replaced every day and luxury bubble bath etc. Great breakfast too with lots of choice.

Booking dinner in the restaurant was very clumsy. We booked 3 nights bed and breakfast but wanted to eat in the hotel on our 1st and last nights. However that's not possible - we had to go on a waiting list and were only contacted the morning of our arrival to say we could eat there. It was a shame because obviously we had made alternative arrangements by then for our first night so only ate there once. It felt a bit unwelcoming but once we arrived the staff could not have been nicer. The food was amazing though!

Staff were exceptional at every point we dealt with them. Excellent breakfast choice.

Room was a little too hot. Toilet didn’t flush efficiently.

The location and the quietness. The room was nice, clean and very comfortable. We were upgraded and had a terrace. The staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast was also lovely.

We would have liked to see more light bites on the menu as we enjoyed spending time in the lounge in the evening and didn't really want to have a meal.

The staff were superb. Great welcome and highly efficient service throughout our stay. Real characterful venue in a fabulous location! A privilege to be able to stay a while.

ROOM: Our Junior Suite was a bit claustrophobic - one window with people frequently passing. The "TV Room" was windowless and not very inviting. We would prefer more light and more view (if possible) even if more expensive. MENU: The food was lovely but we found the menu a bit limited, with only a couple of changes each day, so that by Day 3 we were struggling to choose something appealing. Would be great if you could ring more changes. Also more fish please (especially at breakfast)!

The 'Lugger' hotel is one of those rare finds. Its not a hotel for a long stay perhaps, but for one or two nights the experience is very worthwhile. The hotel is set in a small cove of a few houses and a small harbor. There are headland walks to which we partly managed and the photo opportunities were magnificent. Especially if you decide to get up early to see the sun rise. We were very lucky with the weather to give us these opportunities.

This is not a compliant as such but if the management reads this please could you put a small notice on each of the three tables which sit on the small veranda near the restaurant. This I believe should be a No-Smoking area and our glass of wine taking in the sunset was spoiled by a smoker who neither asked permission if she could smoke or really did not care. Hence with a sharp word or two we retreated inside to leave this couple all the space and views to themselves. But smokers do appear to only consider themselves anyway. That's my dig done.

This was our 2nd stay at the Lugger Hotel this year thus far, and coming all the way from London, I am pleased to say that my partner and I were even more delighted than our first visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome that returning guests receive, as well as the sincere hospitality offered by the staff. We loved our room and all the little treats therein. We highly appreciated the attention to detail. Dinner and breakfast were superb, and due to the fantastic weather that weekend, we were able to go on a coastal walk. We will definitely be visiting again this year.

N/A No hotel breakfast as self catering. Loved the cliff garden with astonishing view

Shower over deep bath in one of the bathrooms made it difficult for seniors We wanted to book dinner for the family in the hotel on one night but, like another reviewer, had to wait until the actual day before being confirmed. Staff at dinner were pleasant but struggling. For 7 of us were given 4 rolls. Asked for more sauce with the plaice, none came. No chid options which is fair enough in a "grown up" restaurant but we had been told there was a child menu.. Trying to get hold of hotel with pre visit queries was impossible. BUT our 5 nights in the self catering cottage was really enjoyable though pricey. Note it is situated on the steep lane leading up from the Lugger but parking is available at the hotel.

We arrived to a warm welcome. Our room was in one of the other buildings and was very clean and well furnished. The evening meal was delicious and staff very friendly and efficient. Good choice of food and wines. A delicious breakfast too.

Unfortunately our room backed onto the hot water tank storage for that building and the pump was quite noisy. This was very noticeable at night when trying to sleep. We spoke to the man on duty and he offered us another room in the same building to sleep in. We accepted this gratefully and on check out our bill was also adjusted slightly as an apology.
