Breakfast was great, very good quiche. Everything was good. The drinks and snacks came with the room and I appreciated the bubbly water. Would like to have seen different menu for breakfast on the second day, but, all-in-all, the food was delicious. The Inn is also very close to the Sunset Cultural Center where we could walk to our concert and just a block away from all the shops.

The access to the shower is a hop over as the tub is tall. There was a hand rail to hold on to, but I didn't think the access was senior friendly or for anyone that might have a difficult time stepping over. Plus when you opened the door to get out, the hand rail was on the inside and the door covered, so a hand rail on the outside would have created more safety.

We were locked out of our room 15 min before check out time while we were still loading our car. It took quite some time to find an employee to let us in to our room so we could collect our luggage. A few hours after checkout we were notified that we left some clothing items behind. We asked for a description of the items (and for the number of items left behind), which the staff was unable to provide. We were on our way to the airport so we could not search our luggage until the next day to determine what was missing and whether it was important. We were disappointed that the staff was not more accommodating and did not provide us a photo or even a description of the items.

As other reviewers have said, the location is exceptional, if a bit difficult to find on its street because other similar buildings are all squeezed together. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. There is no valet, luggage carts, or elevator in this 2-story property, but staff can provide some help with luggage if needed. The office is staffed 8am-10pm, but emergency staff contact numbers are provided. The included breakfast is EXCEPTIONAL! And DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM! The choice of 2 hot quiches are from an notable bakery, as are the croissants and, bagels, and muffins. There is cold cereal, and choice of beverages. You are presented with a menu each day and you select the items you want and the quantity (within reason) of each that you desire. I guess that you could order every item on the menu, but you may get a dirty look from staff. The beds are extremely comfortable and include a thick feather topper. Staff will remove the topper upon request. We can't recommend this place more highly. What a wonderful surprise!

Limited, free on-site parking is available, but all but a few spaces are underneath the 2nd floor rooms and they are very small. A few outdoor spaces are available, but tight. Getting out of the spaces requires several forward-and-back moves, and navigating a unbelievably narrow and tight bend by the office. There is limited on-street parking in front of the inn.

The room was so comfortable and well though out. We loved the breakfast delivery to our room each morning. The quiche was fantastic. The fireplace added a lovely relaxing ambiance. We loved it so much, we are already looking for a time to come back.

Nothing. Honestly. Everything was so comfortable and well taken care of and it allowed us to just relax and enjoy! If I have to pick one thing for improvement, it might be having designated parking by room, but again, such a minor inconvenience, that it is hardly worth mentioning.

Breakfast was very good. I would have liked a few more options having stayed there for 7 days. As a result, we opted to eat elsewhere the last two days. The location made it easy to eat at other restaurants nearby.

The bed was a little uncomfortable. It was very soft. I would have preferred to have a smart tv. This would have enable us to watch streaming services. I would have also liked to have a view of the ocean. The hotel only offered a street view or a view of a tree outside of our room.

We arrived a bit late and were greeted by Michelle who met us at the office. She was so friendly and hospitable. She said we missed the lobby happy hour, so she gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy! She walked us to our room and showed us how everything worked, explained that the beds had feather tops on them and if if wasnt comfortable for us, to just call and she would come remove it, so nice! The location was spectacular, our room was fabulous and quiet. We felt very welcomed and at home here.

Only thing that would have been better was to stay a few more nights!

The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL! We ordered the quiche, coffee, and croissants, and everything was perfect - taste, temperature - couldn't be better!

It's my understanding that none of the inns in Carmel have air conditioning, so we opened the windows to let in the breeze. I do think air conditioning would have made the stay a little more comfortable because it did get a little warm for us.

It honestly is such a wonderful Inn in every way. We have totally loved staying here (in Room 7 with lots of windows which is great!) & would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, well appointed & furnished, spacious, efficiently & charmingly run, well positioned for walking everywhere in the town (but just on the edge enough to be very peaceful) place to stay in Carmel. 5 star rating from us. Beautiful, clean, spacious room. Loved the breakfast and the wine and appetizers. The wine was of high quality, appetizers were varied, fresh, and plentiful. the breakfast out of this works delicious. by far, the best food offered at any inn we have stayed at. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The way we were greeted and shown our room and shown how to operate everything from TV to Fireplace. We loved the selection of the menu and time for delivery of breakfast--promptly and on a try with a vase and flowers. Room was delightfully decorated and had a wonderful ceiling fan and a fireplace which actually put out heat.

Difficulty safely using tub with shower as we are older and it is high to enter and deep so must exercise caution when using.
