My husband called ahead to say that we were celebrating my birthday, and the hotel had a card wishing me a happy birthday, along with a small bottle of prosecco, on our desktop waiting for us in our room, which we were admitted into a little bit earlier than check-in time, with an upgrade. Also, we arrived too early to check in, but enjoyed complimentary coffee and cookies by the fire in the lobby while waiting. We very much enjoyed my our dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and the waiter put a candle in my dessert for my birthday. Also, the location was very convenient for walking.

After booking on your site and being asked if we had any special requests, I tried to type in that we would be celebrating my birthday, but only received info. on joining some kind of hotel club. Also, upon arrival, I mentioned to the receptionist with whom we checked in that it was my birthday. Upon leaving, the same receptionist, after my expressing what a nice birthday I had had there, remonstrated with me that I should have told them ahead of time that it was my birthday (I tried, and my husband did) Neither desk attendant was overly welcoming or friendly.

The location was great. We were on the top floor of the main building with a view of the bridge. We had a corner room with a lot of windows. The bed was comfortable and the big bathtub was nice.

I think the price is high for what you get. If you book through Booking.com, they don't give you a food credit like they do if you book directly. However, when I looked at their website, I never saw this mentioned. I think for the price, they should include the food credit for everyone.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and always available. I love the coffee station and the delicious free cookies. The rooms are always in excellent condition with comforting decor and very clean. The hotel restaurant is amazing! Staff was lovely and food was delicious! The location can’t be beat. You are in the heart of downtown Mystic.

The parking can sometimes be a problem. However, the staff is always available to help navigate the issue. The price point is not a value. However, I was pleased to pay the listed price for such a wonderful stay.

Number one thing about the property is the location. Excellent spot for this gorgeous town. A very close second is the staff; so friendly and accommodating at any time. I highly recommend staying here for your next trip to Mystic

Next time we will request a room that does not overlook the parking lot, but other than that, it was excellent!

room/amenities/location all excellent

Featured "breakfast buffet" was a major disappointment - arrived at 9am to find little or no picked over selections - menu descriptions were expansive and detailed - reality was quite different - orange flower french toast [2 dry slices left], half an egg wrap, overcooked "chicken fat" home fries, burnt bacon -empty juice carafe - with hours to go for service. The "breakfast attendant" said he would procure more food. no apolgy. [?] My partner ended up having oatmeal and a hard boiled egg. The group at the next table left after twenty minutes and no food arriving. Just found out we didn't receive the $15 per credit because we didn't book directly with the hotel - but used booking .com

Room was great as we were in the main building looking over towards the water. Fireplace in the room was perfect for the New England summer. Great staff, comfy bed, spacious room...what's not to like? Very centrally located but far enough away from the bridge traffic.

Make sure to book in the main building. More expensive but you may face the back parking lot. Those rooms were nice too, but you're looking at a parking lot when you go in and out of your room.

Great location and staff was great. Everyone was really friendly. Rooms were very pretty.

I had asked to stay in the main portion of the hotel which I guess they couldn't accommodate, but they put us in the oldest portion of the hotel which was still a very pretty room. However, it was extremely loud in room #12 throughout the whole night. We heard trucks, deliveries and I'm not sure what else on the side of the building right by our room throughout the entire night. We didn't get much sleep due to this. Everything else was extremely nice.

The staff were amazing, attentive, and hospitable. The room was clean and super cute/quaint with all the modern amenities you would need. It was walkable to everything we needed and they even gave us champagne for our anniversary!

The roku TV was a little slow, one of the outlets didn’t work, and more towels would have been great. But none of that impacted the trip I still loved it.

I chose this hotel primarily for the location. The Whaler's Inn is a beautiful hotel that exceeded our expectations. The rooms were bright and clean. The bathroom was stocked with nice amenities and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice to wake up and grab some coffee in the lobby and sit outside on the rocking chairs waiting for my family to prepare for the day. We could walk to town and restaurants and the drawbridge was entertaining to watch!

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly about Mystic, Connecticut, which was super helpful for us. They had excellent recommendations. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a very clean. We also appreciated the good quality towels!!!

if I had to mention one thing, it would be that the bathrooms were a little small.
