The Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago Loop

The hotel is ideally located in the Loop. If one takes the blue line from the airport, it’s a 50-yard walk from the station exit. The staff is extremely kind and professional and the rooms are always beautifully appointed. This hotel never disappoints!

When I went to check out 6-630 a.m. the female desk clerk was not able to tell me which way I needed to go to catch the train to the airport. She offered no assistance. She said she worked all night and just could not think. I went downstairs and asked the same question, "which way did I need to go to catch the train to the airport. She responded she did not know any thing about such travels. I started out on my own, then returned to hotel to call a cab. The young man who met me at the door, smiled and enthusiastically greeted me. I asked him the same question and within 2 minutes, using his phone, he had me in the right direction with instructions on which train to catch (0range line) the two women did not appear to be all that interested in helping me in any way at all.

The staff is INCREDIBLE! So helpful and knowledgeable. Loved the location, close to the river and a 10 minute walk to Grant Park and the Art Institute. Directly next door to the Palace Theatre.

Due to COVID, the bar and restaurant were closed and no room service. We are looking forward to returning when everything is open again! There is a late-night Italian place around the corner, and a Starbucks onsite, but we will enjoy having some signature drinks when things are fully operational again!

Excellent location. Easy check in and out. The room was super clean. The shower had excellent water pressure. The bartender Omar was absolutely on point and it was an honor to be served by him

Our room was a little cramped. I don't normally tend to seek out super spacious rooms, but this was a little hard to navigate around, with the luggage for 2 people for the weekend. The bathroom doors were in the way of getting in and out of the room. There was no fan in the bathroom, which seemed odd

The location of the hotel next to the Cadillac Palace theater was the main reason I chose it. The good service and tasty food of the Randolph Tavern/Restaurant across the street was an added bonus. Starbucks next door didn't hurt either! Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Dimmable lighting throughout the room was a nice touch. Overall lighting was good. Although the size of the room was not generous, the space was well used for the guest's comfort and convenience. The size of the room was as expected for a hotel in a large city. I came to Chicago to see the city, not spend a lot of time in my hotel room!

Wish there had been another mirror in the room. Maybe one above the desk instead of the artwork.

The room is small, but who cares.. ? it's just me.. Bed was perfect.. pillows perfect.. bathroom also small but clean and came with shampoo conditioner and body wash. They provided me with a Coffee Maker with coffee and creamer so I could start making/drinking coffee right away.. Staff was wonderful , helpful.. I'll stay here again.. Great location too ! OH.. and FAST elevators.. love it !

Price was a bit higher than I would have liked to pay,,, but all the hotels Jack up the price during NeoCon

I love the decor. I was actually upgraded based on my status as a military veteran. Their was a jacuzzi in the suit😊

They didn’t have a microwave. But that was my fault for not checking the available amenities. Other than that, the restaurant was really. The Libby pristine and they have a Starbucks attached. What’s not to love! Most of the places I visited were in walking distance so that was also a plus.

I stayed for a week, and the location is phenomenal! The bed was comfortable and did not exacerbate my back issues which is much appreciated during a lengthy stay. All of my requests were satisfied and the hotel was very proactive in regards to keeping the property safe and monitored, especially during the late night hours. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend for those wanting to stay in the loop within walking distance of many attractions and multiple CTA stops!

I would have loved some fruit options with coffee in the morning, but all else was wonderful!

It was gorgeous. And very comfy.

The refrigerator in the room wasn't plugged in. I didn't know that. So I stuck our $300 dinner in there and it was ruined. Quite disappointed to lose such a good meal for no reason. I told the front desk and nothing was addressed other than saying they'd clean the fridge out on check out. Also, wasn't right next to everything. It's downtown, but if you want to see the parks or river, it will be a walk.
