I loved the location and the cute note about the bugs if you leave the balcony open. I also loved that we could have a fire. I would suggest that the owner keep bundles of firewood on property- he could make a fortune :) it was quite the feat trying to find firewood in the evening after all the shops had closed! I loved the options for the pool area! The dry sauna was a gem! I needed all those luxuries after running on the Island! I really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff was beyond kind and funny! They definitely deserve to be treated well- they work hard and are very authentic in their communications with guests!

The alarm clock fee! We had to tell the front desk we didn’t even have one in our room so we didn’t get charged $25! It was beyond absurd haha! The icemaker might need service! It gave me a whole tray shaped chunk of ice! We did laugh a lot though!

The location was amazing to be right on the water! Our downstairs location was great, we could walk right out to the beach. We also took advantage of the free shuttle to the boat docks. The beds were OK and we were thankful for two chairs outside on the patio.

It needs new paint and carpet through out, especially the hallways and pool area. It looked depressing and smelled. The flooring also had bugs. The breakfast area did not have enough seating for the number of guests and basic food options. There was a cool pancake machine but there was only one and the wait was long. We liked that there was an indoor pool but there was no bathroom or shower. When we needed a towel we found one the first day but they were not replenished on the second day of our stay, despite limited number of guests in early June.

We loved our entire visit. The place is adorable -- clean, every room has a lake view, the park-like front yard was perfect with lawn games and lounge chairs. HUGE thanks to the staff! They were fabulous and so helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Breakfast was great -- a typical continental breakfast with all the usuals (cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, juice). My kids loved the pancake machine! The indoor pool was exactly what the kids needed after a day of driving. And the Mexican restaurant next door was fantastic. Many thanks! We'll be back the next time we're passing through town.

I wish I took pictures, but it’s not something I thought about. I stayed in a two bedroom suite with my husband and our toddler. We loved the view of the lake and Mackinac Island. The room was bare-bones, but very clean. They weren’t doing stay over service while we were there, but would come in and clean if you requested it. The staff was AMAZING. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The beach is great and the pool is nice. The breakfast is a basic continental breakfast, nothing fancy. But still a welcome way to save a little money. Every decent hotel in the area is expensive (duh) but I thought this one, more on the cheaper side, went above and beyond to be clean, friendly, and helpful.

This didn’t bother me, but the decor definitely needs updating in order to continue attracting guests. It’s not a very aesthetically pleasing place and you can see lots of wear and tear on the building and in the rooms. It feels like an old hotel. Hopefully the owner will find a way to update things while keeping the price down.

We come here for the view!! Fabulous!! The deck is our favorite spot. We've stayed 3 or 4 times, and the staff is always wonderful. We've always had clean rooms. If we need extra towels or coffee the staff is very accommodating. The location is also great. They offer a fairly decent breakfast of coffee, juices, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, muffins, cereal (with milk) and bagels. You can sit on the breakfast deck or take it back to your room and enjoy breakfast on your own deck. They also have things to do on their property (kayaks, horseshoes, campfires, etc.), but we haven't used them yet. This is our "go-to" hotel when we stay in St. Ignace.

Breakfast can get crowded, but that's to be expected during the tourist season. There are minor updates that could be done (peeling of wallpaper) but it's nothing that bothers our stay. The extra "sitting chair" in the rooms used for watching TV could probably use a little more care or replacing (if worn out), but we throw a sheet or towel over it and sit in it just fine.

We stayed in St Ignace as a jumping off point for a few days of sightseeing on Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula. We were only at the hotel from evening to early morning each day. We had everything we needed. The continental breakfast had an adequate selection and was fresh each day. The front desk staff was very helpful and we got a slight discount on our ferry tickets to Mackinaw Island. Oh- and they offer free shuttle to and from the ferry port.

We have stayed multiple times in St. Ignace but this was our first time here. We will be making this our hotel every time we are in St. Ignace from now on. It's right on the water, every room has a beautiful view of Lake Huron. The price is an exceptional value especially for the area. There is a beach with fire pits, hammocks, chairs, a small playground, horse shoes and a few other outdoor games. Yes there are seagulls but guess what, you are on a lake. You also can rent kayaks for $5. There is also an indoor pool. The rooms were very clean. Ferry docks and downtown businesses are only a mile or 2 away and if you're exhausted from a long day there is a Mexican restaurant right next door with awesome white fish tacos. Great experience and we will definitely be back.

After reading other reviews I was a little concerned, but we were pleasantly surprised! The room was big, super clean and the view was amazing. The room had a slight odor at first but not bad, you can open your window and door to let in the fresh lake air. Breakfast was typical, but enough to eat. They had two small rooms and a balcony on the lake to eat your breakfast. If the room is too crowded you can always take it up to your room, there's a table and chairs, and your own lakefront private balcony :)Also the rooms are quiet, we never heard our neighbors, except for a few doors slamming.

The room was a great size on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view. We forgot our water shoes which I had read to bring. Was hard to swim, but water was beautiful and we did kyaking for an hr $10 for 2 of us. So relaxing. Free shuttle to the ferry was great there and back. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub and Sauna were great every night. Last night the hot tub was cool though. Breakfast is great to get you started, but there is Java Joes a few minutes away. It was amazing for a hot breakfast to get us going for the long trip home.

Carpet in the pool area was interesting and beds could be replaced. Mattresses were a little uncomfortable. Wish all rooms had a microwave and not have to go downstairs but grateful for fridge and we had access to a microwave. Not hotels fault, but wish smoking weed was not allowed all over the area outside and balconies and at the door of the pool going inside. It messed up getting beautiful fresh air and there were children all over getting to suck it into their lungs too.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean; bed was actually very comfortable. Location was ideal for our purposes as we were attending the MINI on the Mack event in St. Ignace. Close to the ferries, restaurants, and shopping in town.

Breakfast was really not worth the trouble. Very limited selection and the room was far too small to accommodate everyone when the hotel was fully booked. Layout of the property is a bit strange: Parking lot has multiple entry points, the 'breakfast room' is just two former bedrooms that have been repurposed; and never did figure out how to find the pool. Lovely view of the lake and Mackinac Island.
