Loved the architecture of the building, the high ceilings, wooden floors and trim around the base boards, doors and windows. The stair case was easy to use when you wanted. It was a very comfortable stay and as a traveler alone, I felt completely safe. Breakfast in the former Chapel was lovely and delicious. Would absolutely stay there again! Delightful!
Parking - the hotel does not own or control their parking. Two options are close. The parking closest to the property was $10 - $20 per overnight. That garage was the most convenient as it was directly behind the hotel and easiest access as the hotel has a side entrance. Everything else was terrific and parking was workable. The property is downtown St Paul, and easy access in / out of downtown.

The Celeste Hotel in St. Paul is truly a hidden gem. It has a lot of charm and character due to it having been a convent and later a music school. However, if you do not like paintings of nuns this is not the place for you. It is exceptionally restful and in the heart of St. Paul. It is on the corner of Exchange & Cedar. At the other end of the block on Exchange is the Fitzgerald Theater at Exchange & Wabasha. You can easily get there from the airport using the light rail. The 10th Avenue stop on the Green Line is about a block away from the Celeste on Cedar. There are several steps leading up to the front door. However the Celeste does have an entrance on Cedar that has no barriers. You either use your room card or, if you have not checked in yet, push the button next to the door and let the desk staff know you want to be let in. The breakfast is not fancy but it is very good and plentiful. I would not hesitate to book the Celeste in the future. See photos.
Nothing needs improvement here.

Everything from the room to the breakfast, staff and location were wonderful. I arrived early and planned to just drop my luggage off and go to the office for the workday, but the manager and front desk host were able to let me into my room. The bar was a fun hangout w/ a few co-workers and since i don't drink alcohol, the bartenders made some amazing non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. Also, the evening I was originally set to depart, my flight was cancelled (but not because of the big software problem on 7/19) and when i first called the reservation line, there was no availability. I called the direct line and the person found a room for me to stay! That made me even more loyal to stay at the Celeste again next time I come to St. Paul! Thank you so much!

The building and the rooms and the bar and the lobby were all gorgeous. Very well designed and decorated. Historical building and I appreciated how they kept as much of the original as possible. Breakfast was better than many typical hotel breakfasts. Bar staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were large. Everything was clean. Close to downtown and walk to the river, bars, restaurants.
My room let in too much light because the hall light could be seen through the (windowed doors). It made it hard to sleep. There were very few electrical outlets in the room; somewhat inconvenient. The bar did not really serve much food. It would have been nice to have the option to order a sandwich at the bar. The fitness center was really just one very small room. The parking is not provided / included; you just have to find your own parking and hope for the best.

Breakfast was served in the old chapel an it was very good! Scrambled eggs, sausage links, sliced kielbasa, American fried potatoes, an assortment of juices, assortment of hot and cold, cereals, breads for toast, coffee, cake, fruit, coffee station with flavored syrups. They had everything we needed, and it was delicious.
I have no suggestions for this. We were only there one night but we enjoyed our stay, the location was perfect for a short walk to The Pill Box Tavern for supper and a short walk to the Excel Energy Center for our concert

location in St Paul was very convenient. the fact the hotel was a former convent added charm and character to our stay. Breakfast was exceptional with freshly made egg dish and a host of other dishes. Would definitely stay here again
Our stay at the hotel was excellent, food, service, room were all great. There was no lack of heat in our rooms when it was 10degrees F outside

Ambiance of main hallways, lobby, bar area was cool. Bed and pillows were very comfy, bathroom was clean and nice.
Mini fridge wasnt on when arrived. Loud boiler-system should be checked by expert- it shouldnt be that loud of a burble even with radiator system its louder than should be. Carpet needed better vaccuuming and could use a deepclean. Room hallway and bed area was very small. Would be better as a Queen bedroom with another small seat area. Photo of a nun looking at bed was rather offputting, altho overall I get that it is theme of the place, and the hallway area is fine for it. The room photos showed a velvet/velour blanket in addition to the regular sheets but so such item was in room. There was a bit of *cough cough* "white splatter" above the right bed light that would be easy to overlook by the staff but should be scrubbed off.

The location, the solid, historic building, the room and the interior, the nice and welcoming personal.
The unelegant breakfast did not suit the hotel’s high standard nor the beautiful breakfast location in a former chapel. Plastic glasses & cutlery, paper cups and plates, loud pop-music and a whole lot of merely rotten bananas are not what you want to have for breakfast here. Luckily I found a porscelain plate and cup hidden on a shelf for myself, but still had to see all the paper & plastic on the tables.

I love staying here when i travel for work, it is close to our office and the rooms are really comfortable, and the breakfast is really good! Also great place to meet co workers at the bar after work.
The only thing I can mention is that the lamps only had 1 working bulb in each of them, so it was a little dim in the room. But since I had events most of the evenings I was there, I didn't mention it or ask for additional bulbs.
