Dartmouth House

Our stay here was so fantastic! We were in Rochester for one night, but we both ended up wishing we could’ve spent at least another at this lovely bed and breakfast. Gary is wonderful, and even accommodated my boyfriend’s dietary restrictions for our breakfast (which was also very delicious—not your average breakfast by any means). The room, as well as the entire interior, was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and we both appreciated the vintage trinkets and decor all around. Our late check-in was very easy, and we had quite a memorable experience overall. Highly, highly recommend!

Very nice house in Rochester. My room was big and comfortable. The staff was extremely kind and helpful (a small issue with towels was readily solved). The highlight was surely the breakfast: delicious, freshly prepared every morning and served in the cutest room. I really enjoyed my stay.

The breakfast cook/manager was extremely likable and made a marvelous breakfast both days. The house had obviously been lovingly restored and l was particularly impressed with the crown molding throughout the house.

My complaints are very minor - the claw-foot tub was wobbly and the chairs in the bedroom were less than comfortable. The bed was fine, and I loved the feather pillows.

Wonderful breakfast tailored to my diet. I’m a vegetarian. Lots of vegetables and fruit were offered. Omelette on day one. Crepes on day two. Quiche on day three.

1). Front porch steps and back porch steps are badly in need of painting! 2). Gardens are in desperate need of weeding. 3). Grass needed mowing!

the location was lovely, quiet and close to everything we needed to see and do in the city. Easy parking, great breakfast, friendly owners. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends visiting the area!

My room was quite roomy and nice in appearance. I would like to see some art on the walls, but then I might or might not have liked the style... The entire building looked great. Also having off-street parking was a plus. The wi-fi worked well.

NO STAFF - because of Covid there was no breakfast, or coffee. No coffee is a big minus. I didn't see anyone other than possibly some cleaners as I was in my car ready to drive away. The TV didn't seem to work properly - luckily I had my laptop.

Super comfy beds and very clean

Understand it’s an old house but walls super thin and can hear plumbing sounds …. My room on second floor was super loud people on third floor stomping around until after midnight, filling up tub, flushing toilets l, could hear people coughing next door, definitely need ear plugs here

This BNB very cute, spotlessly clean, and has great amenities. The location is absolutely perfect for where I needed to be in Rochester.

I didn't see any temperature control and the room was pretty hot, but thankfully it was a cold night and the windows opened easily. There was a sign to wear masks in common areas but this wasn't enforced. I'd have felt more comfortable if it was.

Loved the rooms and the overall property. The staff was fantastic! I liked the bed and the shower was really nice too. There are also some really nice affordable food options nearby.

Because it's an old house the walls are a little thin. If you're a light sleeper and there are other guests that can be a bit of a problem.

It was clean, the bed was outstandingly comfortable, and the location was extremely convenient.

I understand that COVID made a served breakfast impossible, but it would have been nice to have been provided a piece of fruit and a breakfast bar. I also found it strange that we never saw a human being, even from afar.
