Saranac Waterfront Lodge

It was clean, nice view and comfortable location

in our booking was said that room will be with shower or bathtub and unfortunately there wasn’t any room with bathtub when we came to the hotel so we asked about room with bathtub maybe for another day and guy in reception said that they will have available one at 02.15 and when we come to reception at that day in a morning some girl without checking just said that they doesn’t have any available room with bathtub we asked her couple times in that day and her answer was the same, but when we come back at night in same day and saw that guy and asked him he said that they have available number with bathtub and friendly gave us different keys

the location excellent. we asked for high level room and got an outstanding and spacious room with view, well equipped. basic but nice excercise room Location is excellent and saranac a lovely old-fashioned town with "left bank" french restaurant where we had superb dinner (confit the canard etc.) all around hiking trails great town even on a depressive rainy snowy day. interesting tuberculosis museum a true bonus.

the " boat restaurant" disappointing they were friendly but the waiter simply did not listen: we specifically asked to temporize and not to hurry. within minutes a delicious dip for with the drink, but then appetizer and within a few more minutes the warm starter and the main course at the same moment, makes no sense. felt hurried . the soup of the day soso, the grain bowl a sticky mass that missed all the tastiness that a grain bowl makes so enjoyable, a single hot overwhelming spice.....the chicken parmesan that my partner had ok, nothing speicla a strong contrats with an excellent hotel

Gorgeous view even with a town-view room. Very clean.

Got locked out of my room at 11 am even though check out is 12. Housekeeping told me 11, but front desk told me 12. Fitness center needed to be tidied (water cups left on machines, trash on floor, water machine out of water). My rate through Bookings was supposed to include breakfast, but the hotel reservation didn’t show that so I had to show them my Bookings reservation. It clearly doesn’t happen often because they weren’t sure what to do. Finally gave me coupons for free breakfast. Only one waitstaff on at The Boathouse so the poor lady was super busy and turning people away. Decent food though.

Everything was great - I had a beautiful room, the staff I interacted with were all friendly and helpful, and the lobby and outdoor facilities by the lake were all very nice.

Only one complaint: A member of the housekeeping staff threw out my toothbrush, a full size tube of toothpaste and a brand new deodorant. I’ve never had that happen when staying at any hotel in over 40 years of traveling. That was on Friday morning of my stay. All were left on the bathroom countertop, just as they were the other days of my stay. Otherwise housekeeping was very good.

Hotel and lake view are beautiful. Convenient location within walking distance to town. Boathouse Restaurant and Bar was nice. Food was good and service was great. Loved the wood floors in the rooms and the decor is lovely.

Our bathroom was very small and a barn door or a pocket door would be a better solution so 2 people can fit in the bathroom together to get ready. We continually had to close the door to get move between the shower to sink and toilet area. Also the shower is very tight especially with the handicap bar so close to where you have to stand to be under the shower head.

Hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated, with a friendly staff.

It was almost as if the hotel opened up before it was ready; amenities in the room were incomplete, there was no material in the room with information about the hotel (wifi, pool, gym, etc) or surrounding area, the printed sheets we received from the front desk about area attractions were sketchy and incomplete .. the listing of local restaurants suggested reservations but didn't have addresses or telephone #s. The attached restaurant was out of many of the items it listed on its *very* limited menu.

Loved the hot tub! That was the main reason for our stay after completing a 6 hr hike. The room also had very nice decor--fancy with the electric shades! We ended up in a room on the 3rd floor at the end of the hallway, so it was really nice to have those extra windows at the foot of the bed. The terry cloth robes were the cherry on top! Thay came in handy to go to/from the hot tub.

The Boathouse had a very limited menu. Unsure if this was due to the holiday (Thanksgiving) or the norm?

The hotel is close to both downtown Saranac Lake(3mins drive or you can walk) and Lake Placid(15mins). The lobby is spacious and there are enough sitting area to enjoy a fire place while enjoying a glass of wine. The room is clean, beds are firm and comfortable, has a nice view of Flower lake. They provide free coffee at the lobby in the morning. Pool, jacuzzi and gym were great! We want to go back there in summer!

Wish there were more clothes hangers. only 3 provided.

Modern hotel on Flower Lake--Very clean and comfortable rooms with great view of surrounding mountains and lake. Walking distance to a number of restaurants in Saranac Lake and a short drive from Lake Placid. Good pool and huge hot tub.

Independent restaurant adjoining hotel was rather pricey so we ate our meals elsewhere. Coffee in lobby only until 9 AM.

We have loved our stay. The room was super beautiful and cozy. We have enjoyed a lot the spa. After a day of hiking, it was great to go into the spa. The water was just at the perfect temperature and we enjoyed going from spa to the colder pool. The hotel was super quiet. Of course, our stay was during the week, so the hotel wasn’t full. I still believe it would be really quiet. Also the spa is really big, so you can enjoy your own space.
