The location was great and right in the center of town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and looked as pictured on hotel listing. Food was tasty and complimentary cookies and lemonade were a nice touch.

The exterior of the hotel was in need of some repairs, there were large areas of paint peeling from building that were visible from street level. The view from our room wasn't great as we were on second floor overlooking the roof, and there was moss growing from roof onto balcony which wasn't bad but could have been better.

the location couldnt be better. youre on main street so youre within walking distance from all other shops and restauarants. they serve hot chocolate and cookies at night and coffee in the morning which is a major blessing so thag you dont have to walk to starbucks halfway down main street. The 3 Dancing Bears restaurant is right below it and they have great beers, food, and staff.

my only complaint (not to the fault of the staff) is that the mini NHL players can get a little rowdy. if you dont mind it, then its a perfect place to stay for an extended weekend.

The location was perfect right in the center of activity in town. Room was comfortable with an excellent view of the lake. Parking was easy on top deck of the garage entered the 4 the floor were the room was located.

Didn't like “bookings” reservation service. They offer a price match guarantee that they failed to honor. The “bookings” site advertised the same room for $60 less after we paid for the room in full several days before check in. The lesser price was advertised on their site and we provided screen shots and all information that was requested but the claim was denied. DO NOT USE BOOKINGS FOR YOUR RESERVATION. They do not honor their own promises.

The view of the lake and mountains from the room’s windows and balcony was stunning. The bathtub was a walk-in one that had a built in seat with a hand held shower head, as well as an overhead one. The bathroom itself also was spacious with plenty of places to put your toiletries. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Parking was included and finding a space was never a problem. The hotel is very well situated to walking the Lake Placid downtown shopping area easily, as well as getting to places by car.

There was not nearly enough drawer space for two peoples belongings. The closet is small and if the closet door is open, you can’t open the bathroom door to get in or out as it’s a sliding pocket door that then bangs into the closet door. Housekeeping missed a day and only one time in a 7 day stay were fresh towels received. They did make the beds and clean the bathroom though. The hotel is large and the room comfortable, but a bit on the expensive side for what it is. Also, for any night owls please know that the restaurants and bar on site close at 9 pm.

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend stay at High Peaks. The location is excellent, down on the end of the main drag, walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms were nice and comfortable and super quiet (although some other guests down the hall were not, unfortunately). Lake amenities were all free and available every day, as promised, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and paddle boating. And unlike many "dog-friendly" hotels, they truly are! Our dog Dexter was welcomed with a special bed and bowls waiting for him when we checked into the room, and he was so comfortable, he didn't make a peep when we went out without him for dinner. (My courtesy call to the front desk to let them know wasn't even necessary!) All staff were courteous and kind to him, and they allow dogs everywhere except in the restaurant and in the pools. They even allowed the pups to run around with each other on the hotel's lakefront "beach area". He felt right at home, and so did we. We'll definitely return to this hotel!

The concrete balconies and sidewalks were eroding, but we saw them doing some minir repair work while we were there, so I'm sure it will be in much better shape next time we visit!

Clean and cozy hotel with friendly staff serving cookies & hot chocolate in the afternoon. In short, this a great hotel in a wonderful location. walking distance to town, dog friendly. Our favorite restaurant, dancing bears is attached to the hotel

my only feedback is in regards to the indoor pool area. there was some sand in the hot tub and we weren’t sure how clean it was. when we went there there were no fresh towels either. a bit more attention to the pool area is recommended. everywhere else is very clean in this hotel

The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The location is also perfect. I’d say looking at other properties in the area, this was one of the best.

My only complaint is that there are no umbrellas by either pool. There were days where the temp was near 90 and there was very little protection from the sun. I think this is important because there were little ones and families with toddlers that could have used the shade. Not to mention people like myself that like to take a break from the sun.

The location and views were perfect. sadly we had a rainy cold overnight but I’m sure it is beautiful on nice days. Pet friendly. Love the balconies and the room design. They provided us a glass of complimentary champagne when we arrived. Absolutely stunning place. They gave our dog resort scarf too.

Hot tub was in the other hotel across the street. It was too cold to walk over there to use it. Wasn’t really sure where to walk the dog but we took the elevator down from third floor to the first floor and went straight out to the grass outside the pool area. Indoor pool in the main building closes earlier.

We have stayed at High peaks several times in the past. The rooms were looking tired so we were especially happy to be in a newly renovated room-very nice. We were greeted with the traditional champagne and the chef had made brownies-nice touch. We love the location of the hotel and the free parking. The staff was great and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.

The woman who checked us in was very nice! She knew it was our honeymoon so she worked hard to get us a room with an absolutely amazing view. The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. It’s great to be right in town to go out for meals. The Deck served up an awesome mule and has a really pretty view! We used to hot tub and the free water crafts before. This is our favorite hotel in Lake Placid!

We loved our stay! the only thing I could think of is the indoor pool/hot tub area don’t fit with the beautiful vibe of the rest of the hotel
