Lake Placid Inn: Main Street

Location was terrific. The "apartment" was newly renovated with many up-to-date features.

We reserved this through Booking.com, but apparently it is also rented through Airbnb. When completing the reservation, I was somewhat shocked to see that there was an $80 charge for a cleaning fee which brought the price up to almost $400. My husband and I were planning to stay only 1 night. In advance, I asked if the cleaning fee of $80 could be waived or lowered and there was no response. We thought we were making a reservation at a "Boutique Hotel". We were in the room for one night only to sleep and shower and felt the $80 cleaning fee was exorbitant. The staff was not helpful at all in listening to our concerns and offering alternatives. I would not stay there again for that reason.

The apartment was spacious with room for a family to move around in. The beds and pillows were comfy. Very central location. Good parking.

I wish there were 2 sinks in the bathroom, as it is hard to share one bathroom with one sink. Also wish there was better soap and shower products instead of the cheap little soap bar and poor quality, tiny little shower gel bottle. Tv in living room was hanging totally crooked with wires and boxes stuck behind, wires hanging down. Such a simple thing to fix to give a totally different feel from the start. Difficult to watch a tv that is hanging at an angle.

We did not have access to the breakfast at the property we stayed. This was a bit of a disappointment, as it was not clear we could not access coffee or breakfast the main site was entitled. In fact, when we called the front the desk, the clerk said he wasn't aware and needed to ask the manager. A bit misleading all the way around.

Listed above. Would have appreciated breakfast and coffee access or not clearly defined as being only available to the main site, since we had to go to the main site to register, checking in and out, and deal with for all other items. Confusing at best, misleading worse case scenario. In the room was a coffee pot without an coffee grinds, as other locations provide when they provide a coffee pot. Who travels with coffee grinds?

Excellent location in downtown Lake Placid. Right behind the lake, which is great for swimming or paddling. Lots of parking.

Generally, the kitchen was well stocked, but there was not a full set of dishes/cutlery, so if there were 4 people in the room it may have been hard to cook/eat there. Also, the cleaning products used just before I arrived were so strong I couldn't go in the room for 2 hours after arriving and had to open all the windows for the rest of the day/night (even though it was really hot). They should consider eco (and human) friendly cleaning products with no scents.

Love the clean and new facilities and comfort of rooms/space. Great for our needs and walking distance to Main st shops and restaurants.

Didn’t like that bedroom tv couldn’t get channels issue with cable system i was assuming. Also, would perfer front door was locked specially at night just a security issue given current times. Parking was also kinda weird with folks not staying at hotel taking up spots.

It was a beautiful studio apartment with everything that we needed and within walking distance to everything. It was very private and very quiet. The bathroom had a waterfall shower that was amazing. The entire apartment looked brand new.

The windows were very high so we didn’t have any view. it said Main Street but we were actually behind a Subway restaurant. We booked at The Lake Placid Inn but they sent us to this apartment building that is an annex…. so no lobby or amenities. But….. the apartment was very nice and we got a great deal and we were very happy with it. it was well stocked and spotless!

The place is wonderful! Unit 203 is a spacious one-bedroom apartment, clean, comfortable, super well furnished, nicely decorated, and with modern appliances (+ good storage space). The location is excellent! And the staff super friendly and helpful. This is the second time I've stayed there (got the same apartment (: Highly recommended!

There's nothing not to like about the place (:

Spacious apartment, clean and well located. Kitchen was amply supplied. New bathroom with plenty of storage space. Quiet apartment even though it's near the main street.

Unit 203 has too much light coming through the bedroom window. The blinds are not sufficient to overcome the light from the street. The lighting in the bathroom is not sufficient for shaving or putting on makeup.

The apartment had everything we needed for a family of 6 to be comfortable for a long weekend. The kitchen supplies were surprisingly good-nothing extra like the random assortments you get in some rental houses, but exactly enough to make a few simple meals and reheat leftovers. I was especially happy about the 2 glass casserole pans with lids which we used both to bake and store leftovers. The only thing that could be added is a metal cookie pan or 2. Luckily we brought our own, but it would have been harder to reheat pizza and calamari if we hadn't had our own.

I felt like there should have been instructions about things like where to bring full trash bags, or if/where/how to do our laundry since a family of 6 who are going skiing and skating are going to need to do at least one load of grimy clothing when staying over 4 nights. (I hope it was okay that we took the trash to the dumpster in the parking lot-but I'm not sure since we had no info sheet like in other rentals.) Also, a big rug/matt just inside the door would be helpful in winter when boots get covered in snow and salt just walking from the car to the stairs. The floors ended up gross and though we swept we would have had to mop every few hours to keep the floors clean when a rug would have caught the grossness and could be switched out and washed between guests.

Super clean, modern, there was netflix in all the rooms! They had everything you needed for kitchen supplies, plenty of towels and toiletries. Chuck and Lisa we’re absolutely wonderful they are the property managers and they were so accommodating and really went the extra mile for making our stay perfect. Thank you so much! I’ve already told my family about this place and we are planning another trip for this season! :)
