The facilities and activities provided were thoughtful and fun. There were more options than we had time to take advantage of. The nightly bonfire/s'mores, afternoon cookies, and morning treasure hunt (even though we didn't find it) were things we enjoyed everyday.

The temperature wasn't a problem with no AC but the room air would get stale very quickly with no way to move air around the room. We had some inconsiderate neighbors who would smoke outside our open window and exasperate the problem. Having a fan in the room would have really helped.

Surfsand was an amazing resort. Our view of the ocean and Haystack Rock was so relaxing to wake up to and view throughout our stay. The beachfront patio was great, as was access to our beach, beach chairs available, nightly fires, and daily little extras, like cookies, tea, ice cream and beer and rootbeer tasting. We could easily walk to the downtown area for meals and shopping, as well as drive within 10 minutes of great hiking. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We didn't want our room cleaned during our stay, but we're able to exchange our towels and get toiletries from the housekeeping team.

The property does say it is non smoking, but there were definately several smokers that inconsiderately smoked at entrances and on the balconies.

Our room had a view of most of the Haystack. The accessibility features of the bathroom were good. The furnishings were in very good condition. We ate out so we didn't make much use of the refrigerator, microwave or tableware. There were nice little extras such as coffee and cookies in the reception area. We were fortunate to have sunny weather during our stay.

It would have been nice to have a few coat hooks in the entryway. The room tended to get warm. When we were in the room we kept the porch door open part way to cool it off. I suspect that the fireplace pilot light was a source of the heat. It would have been helpful to have an information sheet covering the fireplace, wall heaters, television, etc.

Stunning location. Beach front rooms have an amazing view. Loved the cutlery and crockery in room, coffee machine, kettle, generous with tea and coffee. Anything we needed was with us minutes after calling. Comfy bed and big, fluffy towels with quality toiletries supplied. Fantastic beach fire and s’mores as the sun set. Can’t fault it. All staff super helpful and friendly. Loved the warm, fresh cookies at 3.30 daily.

Rooms smell of wood smoke due to the number of fires on the beach at sundown

We expected to have a beachfront room, but we were booked in one of the buildings set back from the beach. This was a special trip for us, and the front desk staff and management put things right. They found an available beachfront room and were able to accommodate us. Couldn’t ask for better or more pleasant service.

The website photographs only show the beachfront building. Check with the hotel directly to request a beachfront room if that’s what you want.

clean, location, excellent cookies

Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had two rooms. One room was perfect. We were put in an ADA room for some reason. The room was very clean and comfortable but the hot water control for the bathroom sink was broken (maintenance came immediately to fix), one side of the mattress squeaked every time I turned over, and the shower head water flow was so low that it was hard to rinse the soap from hair and body. While the staff was polite, they were not personable. We were never asked if everything was ok.

Beautiful location, lovely rooms, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Loved the cookies in the afternoon. Nice, fluffy towels and quality soap and shampoo.

Room was small, which was fine for our small family, but we used the sofa bed for our child to sleep on, so we had nowhere to sit, other than the beds. Not a huge deal. Could use an additional mirror placed outside the bathroom. Very small things compared to the overall quality of the hotel.

The location to the Haystack Rock and beach plus Cannon Beach town centre with all of its art galleries and stores. Very friendly staff and the Wayward Restaurant across the road was wonderful.The complimentary bonfire with smores was an added bonus.

The room was a little too warm as we didn't get the Resort tablet that had details for the room including for room service. Also there are no cupboards in the bathroom for the toiletries bag or hooks to hang clothes off the floor.

My room was right on the beach. I enjoyed watching the sunset every evening. The place was quiet even though there were a lot of people staying there. Loved the cookies at 3:30!

I didn’t like the dog downstairs who would occasionally bark. Parking was challenging. Wish it was a little closer to downtown Cannon Beach. It was a little too far to walk although I guess there is a bus.

Excellent location. I would note that the Oceanside suites have a great view of the ocean do not have a view of Haystack Rock. The Beachside suites building is built further out, blocking that view.

Booking.com needs to change the description for oceanside rooms having a partial view of Haystack Rock. The building next to the building with the Oceanside rooms blocks that view.
