The Lodges At Gettysburg

The location is terrific, close to Gettysburg and attractions. Quiet, clean, pleasant staff, easy check-in, so much nicer than a hotel room. The bathroom has a walk-in tiled shower, plenty of light. Separate bedroom from living area. Cute kitchenette with microwave, nice-sized fridge, and coffee maker with coffee packs (filters) provided. Small wooden deck off of kitchen. Lots of open area to explore on the grounds. There is even a large pond with picnic tables and paths to walk around. Beautiful sunsets!

Living room furniture could use an upgrade, fridge made loud rattling sound, no mirror in bedroom.

It’s a beautiful location, very convenient for trips into Gettysburg. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. It’s nice to have your own separate building. WiFi access very easy. We were not able to use the tavern but it’s nice to have one on location.

There was only a single chair in the room (other than at the desk) so my wife has ti watch TV from the bed. Due to the size of the room, there is no room for much in the way of furniture! Bathroom a bit cramped. That’s an accurate statement for the room overall; a bit too small.

The lodges are quiet and although near each other in proximity, they are private and secluded. Parking was available right in front of the lodges. The tavern at the main building had good food and drinks, reasonably priced. Proximity to downtown Gettysburg was ideal.

Due to the proximity of the woods, I was constantly finding bugs in my rooms. The bedding was a little worn; I found a hole in one of the sheets. Something was wrong with the TV display in the main room. It would not fit the screen and although I attempted multiple ways of fixing the problem, it stayed small.

Loved the privacy of having our own space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The on-site tavern had really good food. The Luitenant cabin was really nicely done with a kitchenette and separate bedroom from the living room/kitchenette area. We were also aloud to take our own little portable charcoal grill and have a family cookout right outside the cabin.

Only complaint is that it's a little bit further away from the battlefield and historic part of town than I would have originally liked to stay. But for the price and privacy, it's worth the 10 to 15 minute drive, depending on where you are are going in the town or battlefield.

She booking.com didn’t notify the Lodges at Gettysburg that I changed my reservation (I changed it five minutes after reserving when I realized I put the wrong week in), the night manager was kind enough to shuffle other reservations so we could not only stay ther, but we could have the same lodge for our entire stay.

My only criticism is they don’t have a pool. I didn’t even think of this when I made my reservations as it was still cool weather. This was my fault , not the property’s fault.

The Lodges are spacious and clean. They have a lovely little kitchenette included so you can keep any left overs or make some simple microwave foods. They also have an attached Corporals Quarters room that can be added for an extra fee if you would like to have a 2 bedroom option.

The gravel drives can be a bit tricky when walking. and while the website advertises a Continental Breakfast it was not an available feature at the time of our stay, though hopefully that is changing.

It's very secluded. There are no activities on site, such as a pool or playground for entertaining children that we saw. You definitely need to bring your own food and drink. The restaurant that opens later in the afternoon has decent food, but again, it doesn't open for breakfast or lunch. While it's not a bad place, and it's definitely clean, it's just not family oriented.

It's so far out from any conveniences that you almost feel like you're off the grid.

Loved the location just outside of the major area, peaceful and quiet. Bathroom was large and good amenities. Wish water pressure was better. Two queen beds and a pull out were used, beds were pretty firm, more firm than I prefer. Linens were nice and lots of towels for our family of 5. Parking was available outside of the unit. Nice to have a. kitchenette.

Low water pressure in shower and beds were too firm for my taste. Pillows were nice though.

We had a fantastic stay at the Lodges. First, it is in an absolutely spectacular country setting, up on a hill with a beautiful long-distance view, while still being only about 10 minutes from downtown Gettysburg, and if you go a different way only about 10 minutes from the main Battlefield visitor center. Our cottage was the "Lt Lodge" "NH" (each cottage has a state name), and it was actually bigger than I expected. Furnishings, woodwork, beautiful polished floors - it was all just a bit more upscale than I'd anticipated. Check-in was flawless and friendly. We had dinner in the Gloryridge Tavern our first night and it was delicious. Full bar and good menu, great service. In contrast to the room it was smaller than I expected from the photos, but we were the only ones there. Wifi worked fine, gorgeous and huge slate-tiled shower. Comfy beds. The kitchen area had everything we needed, but people shouldn't expect to cook meals there. No stove or toaster - basically nothing that would cause a fire or set off the smoke alarm, and I don't blame them. There are cups, plates, shallow bowls, tumblers and wine glasses, basic silverware, coffee maker and microwave. A small fridge with separate freezer and a good-sized sink. There's also a catch-and-release fishing pond on the property that was getting a lot of use. Loved it.

I have zero complaints - our stay was wonderful. My one suggestion would be to consider adding a spa/sauna/pool facility.

Beautiful setting; clean room; friendly and helpful staff. Great family setting.

TV was very small for size of room; also, while basic channels were available, these are not smart TVs; we could not access our streaming premium channels; Roku, etc. smart TVs would be a nice touch; nice room but could use a couple comfortable chairs; the one bench was awkward.
