The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina

Fantastic location on the waterfront. Close to main shopping street and the wharf with restaurants etc. The hotel breakfast was delicious and filling, and we ate both mornings out on the deck by the water. Newport is gorgeous. The cliff walk was amazing, beach at the cliff walk was lovely, and the Breakers was really interesting. There is a free bus around the island which is good to know.

The pool area definitely needed updated. A balcony would have been nice. No information on hotel facilities, eg, bikes or boating. There didn't seem to be a market or store anywhere to buy snacks or picnic foods.

I love that it was in walking distance of everything. We drove in on Sunday and didn’t touch our car till Friday when we checked out. Staff was nice.

The beds were horrible! Very bouncy and uncomfortable. The toilet made a strange running sound that I had to keep the lid down and bathroom door closed before I went to bed. The ac didn’t keep the room cool at all. My son had a bloody nose on the third day when the temps were in the high 70’s. The pool was horrendous. Everything looked like it was falling apart and looks like there is a ring of dirt around it. Gross! The one thing that annoyed me the most was the amount of noise around 9am. Cleaning crew was out cleaning and you can hear a lot of doors opening and closing.

The view of Harbor is always delightful. The room was clean, neat, comfortable. Towels very nice. We bring our own soap, water, coffee cream, etc. Having a refrigerator is great.

Unfortunately, some males in a the room nearby were very rowdy and kept us awake until two a.m. The desk was kind enough to move us to a room down the hall. That had a nice balcony. The loud ladies in the room below were annoying and the smell of their pot smoke came up through the system somehow into our room. None of the latter is the fault of the hotel. You can't screen your guests. The Salt Water bar was to be open Wed while we were there. It was not.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. A perfect location in Newport if you want to be in the heart of all the activities and access to everything fun. The room was large over the harbor and soundproof as lots noise at this time of year. Very comfortable everything I needed was there. I love the restaurant for drinks, food and breakfast. The salt water pool inside the hotel was so refreshing on a hot day too. I think the rooms were a bit pricey though as this is a good hotel but not a luxurious high end hotel.

Harbor view was beautiful. The courtyard with outdoor games was perfect for family evenings playing and sitting by the fire. The location was great for walking around Newport.

The room refrigerator was very small. The air conditioning system did keep the room cool but was very loud and because it is in the floor blows right on you all the time. It also takes up space in a tight room. Hotel should invest in quieter models that mount near the ceiling.

All staff were friendly, professional, helpful & just very courteous. Breakfast amazing. Beds comfortable & overall place was clean.

No fan in bathroom, created a lot of steam & room pretty uncomfortable. There was what looked like black mold on window sill area. i noticed when i tried to open to get rid of some of the steam. Cleaning staff were amazing, but something like that would need to more than a regular room cleaning to keep up with especially being near water & no ventilation.

Loved the grassy area with the fire pit, corn hole game and hammocks. Really loved that portion of our visit being next to the dock and the entire environment.

The breakfast offerings need to be improved for the price for example a made to order omelet station, hot food. It was more continental style, so we did not buy it. Also, the bar was not open during the entire time we were there, so we had to go elsewhere.

The view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was exceptional and the cocktails were great. Staff was friendly.

Uncomfortable bed, clearly a matress topper on an older mattress. Small shower and the bathtub dripped all night. Disposable cups in the bathroom would have been nice. We paid for the view and central location but overall it was a bit pricy for a one night stay.

Monica at the front desk, check in, was absolutely incredible! from the moment we walked in door! to the day we checked out, she told us all about the hotel, local shops, restaurants. what is served at the bar with the limited menus, as well as the house punch she recommended which was absolutely delicious , she made sure we had enough towels, pillows, our room accommodations were up to standard and answered and questions about our stay, and local dining and shopping we had she was absolutely amazing, professional , polite, helpful, considerate, and even helped us book out next stay at check out! she is the reason we will return! such a asset to the hotel and Newport Monica! you did it all!! and made us so happy! we cannot wait to see your smiling face, bubbly personality, and professional demeanor at our next visit. thank you Monica!!! you are absolutely awesome!!!!! Newport hotel should value you as much as we do! 100 stars for customer service, and helpfulness especially during these crazy Covid pandemic times. :)

We had a great view of the harbor. Bed was comfortable and the late night front desk person was very nice and accommodating. Parking was great.

We checked in late, around 11pm. When arriving to our room, we had a security guard following us. I felt uneasy about it all. We were 4 people in two rooms, and yes, we understood people were already asleep. He said to us to be quiet because they "got reports of disruptive behavior". In the morning we were running late, and we called down to the front desk to confirm checkout time, it was 11am. There was no ounce of kindness in the response we got for possible extension. "Absolutely not". Also, the cleaning staff knocked on our door at 8am. That is unnecessary.
