Hotel De Varenne

Staff was friendly and always helpful. The room was a bit small, but that is usual in old buildings. The bathroom however was spacious. Location was excellent! It was close to so many great restaurants, cafes and museums and so very quiet in the night.

There was a coffee/tea maker in the room, but the coffee/ tea/ milk wasn’t replenished enough. We drank our caffeinated coffees every day, but got decaf instead. The heating was a bit hit and a miss. Hard to find a balance, since it was either too hot or too cold. But these are minor things!

Location was excellent, close to everything by walk. Food, restaurants, café and main attraction, Eiffel Tower, Louvre etc.

The transportation from the aéroport to the hotel, the choice of breakfast in the morning. The lack of air conditioning everywhere except the hotel room.

Lovely hotel on a quiet street in a beautiful area of Paris, close to everything! Excellent service with staff members who extended themselves to make your stay comfortable. For example, we had a very early train one morning and Stephan had our coffee and breakfast already on the table at 7:00 AM….He did this without us even asking. Highly recommend this hotel if you enjoy the authentic culture of Paris! Robes, slippers, hair dryer and comfortable beds here.

We loved everything. (This is an older hotel with vintage decor…We loved this aspect….Just setting expectations for those who are looking for a more modern hotel.) Would stay here many times!

The location was great, quiet and close to many sites, but not super touristy. Uber was readily available for transportation. There was a grocery across the street and boulangerie a few doors down, the restaurant Brasserie Le Bourbon was just a couple of blocks away, and our friends enjoyed a meal at Au Coin de la Rue. The included continental breakfast was fresh with good coffee. The staff was kind and helpful and had our room ready early for check in. The beds were very comfortable, we asked for and received a top sheet as it is not usually provided in most of the European hotels we have stayed in. The courtyard was a beautiful place to meet with our traveling companions and relax and have a drink.

It was difficult to shower without a lot of water getting on the floor of the bathroom due to the design of the enclosure.

Our third time staying in this treasure of a hotel in the 6th. arrondissement. A traditional boutique hotel, the hosts Jerome, Maree, and Oliver were friendly and helpful. A quiet area close to a metro and within walking distance to many attractions. We stayed in a suite this visit and it was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a good bathroom. It's very clean and the breakfast is good. We will always stay there again when we visit Paris.

The hotel is just around the corner from the Musee Rodin. It seems to be family-run and has a homey touch. My room was ok.

I did not have much of a view. My room faced the opposite wall in a courtyard. I also would have appreciated a comfortable chair to read in the room. There would be enough space for it.

Not my first visit, and definitely not my last. The STAFF is exceptional, from Stephan on the early evening shift to the gentleman I met on the graveyard shift— and not to forget the gentleman upon checkin. All you ask is for professionalism, customer service and a good attitude as a paying guest. The gentlemen, and ladies have proven that this is GREAT business! I can’t wait to return and I will tell everyone and anybody who mentions going to Paris to visit my favorite hotel in Paris. Merci bien!

Liked everything, no problems, staff didnt speak english well but they tried hard to understand and answer our questions and helped as best they could. Room was super comfortable and we were very happy, wasn't 100% worth the price but we didn't have a problem with it

Nothing bad to say as we were very happy, only thing worrh mentioning was one small miscommunication with a staff member where we spent 3minutes looking for proof that we had paid already because he was going to "give us the bill" and then when i went to show the payment confirmation he said "yeh thats what i said". Was not a problem as english obviously wasnt his first language.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, close to everything by walk distance. I extremely liked the interior details and the products provided, giving to the hotel that old fashioned quality which everyone is looking for, in Paris.

If I have to find something, the only thing in our case was some noise coming from some guests, really late, making our first night a bit uncomfortable.

The staff (Kaia) was wonderful. We arrived at dawn and just would like to leave our bag before we go for a tour. But she saw that my niece was not well and offered us an early check in. It was certainly a welcomed gesture as we didn’t expect it. While waiting for the room to be ready, we had the best French breakfast. Kaia was amazing throughout our stay. Certainly a gem to keep! Jacuzzi in the room is also great :)
