Hotel Saint Germain

The location is perfect, in the heart of St-Germain-des-Prés, iconic picture of Paris

The facilities look maybe a little old, but it gives a vintage look to the hotel, so it goes with the style

The hotel is in a great location just a 15 min walk to the musee d'orsay and the banks of the Seine and a 30 min walk to the Eiffell tower. The hotel serves a continental breakfast of boiled eggs, dried and fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries/bread, teas and coffees. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean, and our room was cleaned daily and towels changed. The staff couldn't do enough for us, very polite and helpful. There are bistros/cafes dotted all over the place, we recommend Cinq Mars restaurant for lunch/dinner about a 15 min walk and creperie du clown about a 10 min walk for breakfast or lunch.

There was no fridge in the room however staff allow you to put stuff in the hotel's kitchen fridge, which is ok but not overly convenient. It didn't bother us but i know it won't be ok for all. Our room was in the courtyard (ground floor) this is a smoking area and you can smell the smoke in your room not great for us non smokers. However people rarely used that area and went outside the hotel instead.

Almost everything about this hotel was excellent. The only minor issue is mentioned below. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The location felt safe, is close to public transportation and is near to lovely shops. I fully expect to return to this hotel in future stays.

My only complaint is specific to our room's location. Our lovely and spacious room was in the courtyard. Ordinarily, the location of the room would be a big bonus. But it appears that the courtyard is an ideal location for guests to take a smoking break and unfortunately, my travel partner is sensitive to cigarette smoke. The smell faintly lingered in the courtyard at times and affected my companion.

A very well appointed boutique hotel in the perfect St Germain location. The room was clean and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the included continental breakfast was delicious and more than enough to set us up for the day.

The room was a little on the small side but this is very typical of hotels in Paris in this price range. Not a big deal though and will definitely stay here again regardless.

We spent nine days at the Hotel Saint Germain in early April, 2022 and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel staff was delightful, helpful, and informative. We stayed in two different rooms (booked at two different times) and both were clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for a walking based vacation. All of the major tourist destinations are within easy walking distance (Louvre, d'Orsay, Seine). There is a Metro station two blocks away and we found it very easy to use it to get to Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. The neighborhood around the hotel has everything you need - cafes (Le Saint Germain, Varennes, and Les Flores were our favorites), pharmacies, markets, and a huge department store. The daily breakfast at the hotel was delicious (picture attached). I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Saint Germain. Also, my original booking was for 2020 and the hotel was nice enough to extend that reservation twice through the pandemic until we were finally able to travel in 2022. Thank you!

we loved the decor and location - that can’t be beat! within walking distance to many attractions, shopping and pastries. Katarzyna at the Front desk is amazing!

This hotel exceeded all expectations!! Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, delicious authentic breakfast and amazing staff. The location was amazing also. So central and walking distance to everything!

Sadly there was not a mini fridge in the room. However, the staff kindly refrigerated any drinks ect I had and brought them out to me.

Quaintness. Charming . Location

No elevator due to broken part. Had to walk up 5 flights. Not normal stairs. Castle like twists/turns. Small room and bath. Not bad for 1 or 2 and short stay.

The managers at the reception, Michael and Pedro are outstanding! : extremely efficient, and helpful, providing excellent advice —on restaurants , directions and responding cheerfully to every inquiry or need. They made our stay the best ever! 🤣The breakfast staff also provide outstanding service—-and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the afternoon music and comfy space when we needed to relax after a busy day! We will return!!

There are no disadvantages to this delightful hotel

Excellent. Great staff. Wonderful selections at breakfast. The hotel was clean and the maids/service staff appeared to work really hard.

Elevator was out and we were on the fifth floor. We should have been compensated. Concierge staff was dismissive when we needed a taxi. Not what you'd expect from a 4 Star hotel.
