Domus Florentiae Hotel

Breakfast could have fresh whole meal bread and more fresh fruit choices .. the breakfast room was lovely and the staff very friendly . The reception were very helpful cheerful and professional. We loved the location, perfect for our trip and in the middle of everything so we could walk everywhere. The room was very clean and the furnishings very nice. Good quality and stylish.

The breakfast could have had more fruit selection and better fresh bread choice and gluten free. A gluten free eater needs more bread choices - would be nice to have hot bacon.

Definitely the staff was the best thing about the property. ALL of them were very helpful and gentle, giving us tips of what to do in Florence, always with a smile on their faces and nice chatting. They also provided us a day trip to Toscana with a partner agency. The location of Domus Florentiae is also something to be mentioned, extremely close to the main monuments (and the train station) and in a very pleasing area to walk day and night. The hotel itself is very confortable too.

The facilities are a little old, the building and the room. Maybe some upgrades would make the experience even better.

The personnel is friendly and very helpful. The location is well placed, next to the Central Train Station and close to Center of the Florenze. Building of the hotel is nice despite the age of 600 years :)

The breakfest: too basic for a 4 star hotel.

The location is very convenient close to the tram stop from the airport. The building is beautiful! The reception is very helpful and attentive, I got excellent recommendations for restaurants and gelaterias. The room was clean,.the bed and pillows very comfortable. There were slippers, excellent toiletries, a kettle with teas , cookies on the pillows, and mini- fridge. Breakfast was well supplied in a balcony overlooking a Piazza.

It can ba bit noisy because it's right beside the Santa Maria Novella Piazza, but it didn't interrupt my sleep, the noise is muffled but the wooden panels and heavy courtains.

The staff were very accommodating: called a taxi for the next morning to get me to an early flight, suggested restaurants and came to my room to explain how something worked. The room was small but quite adequate, clean, and comfortable. Location is perfect, looking out over a large plaza, beautiful church right outside my big windows. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and served in a light, airy setting with a balcony looking over another, smaller plaza on the back side of the hotel. Within easy walking distance from the train station.

I didn't like that I could only stay in this lovely boutique hotel for one night.

Loved everything about this hotel. I give it 10/10 Location only 2-3 min walk to station, and close to Dome , cathedral, square , leather market, etc Room is comfortable clean, and bed extremely comfortable Breakfast is fresh and delicious, staff where lovely and helpful. They even had staff get my luggage downstairs and escorted me outside , which l thought was lovely. My room was located near reception up the stairs. Which was great as no noise coming off Main Street ( ie church bells or early market stalls trying to set up) therefore l got some restful quality sleep. l love how the place is decorated with a the antique charm., beautiful

The breakfast was quite good. A choice of cold meats, cheeses, bread and excellent variety of pastries, cakes etc. The location was amazing. Just to the side of a beautiful piazza, right in the thick of things. Minutes from the station and walking distance to the river and all the sights. Polite, helpful, unobtrusive staff.

Really not much to complain about. The room was quite small but well furnished...and beautifully appointed. The view from our window was fantastic. The trade off for being so close to the action is that you are aware of street activity, but the well-insulated windows, heavy curtains and shutters did their job and disturbance was minimal.

Location, location, location. Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better located place to stay. I was near everything and I could get anywhere by foot in 10mins. It’s literally in front of Santa Maria NoVella. The receptionist is such a kind person. I would walk in the hotel to a smile everyday. He was always ready to listen and recommend new things. The room is clean. Very silent which is relaxing. However the hotel isn’t the best decorated, it’s a little old looking but I don’t mind! It’s still cute and really clean, plus most hotels in Italy are like that (not sure why). The breakfast had everything you could want (eggs, bread, tea, coffee, cakes, fruits, etc.) Overall satisfied! Would do it again. Location + cleanliness + kind staff.

The hotel is in an excellent location, in the centre of Florence, and directly opposite the tram stop from the airport. If you drive, you have to enter the restricted area, and can unload in front of the hotel (in the pedestrian area) but must park elsewhere. The hotel offers a parking service at 28 Euros per night where your vehicle is collected and returned to the front. Breakfast is a very pleasant continental style taken on the veranda. Room was of good size and airconditioned.

The hotel shouls provide better instructions for drivers informing them they can drive through the restricted area to unload.

The breakfast was nice. The staff goes above and beyond to answer questions, make reservations, offer advice, etc ... Any requests was immediately taken care of. We would absolutely stay there again.

The mini bar could actually come with liquor. I understand these can be labor intensive but it would be nice as the hotel doesn't have a bar. Also, there wasn't one TV station I could find that broadcast in English. If you could correct these two deficiencies I would give you five stars.
