Colonna Palace

Location of Colonna Palace is fantastic, in the heart of Rome, close to Pantheon and Fontana di Trevi. I walked to Spanish stairs and Colosseum as well. Hotel arranged for me to be picked up at the airport which made a journey less stressful. My double room on the 6th floor was specious, the bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable. The windows were small and the room was a bit dark, but I didn't mind that, since I only slept in the room - there were so many nice things to see in the close vicinity of the hotel. Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, cheese, salami, ham, croissant, bread bun, butter, selection of jams, Nutella, and honey, excellent coffee, tea, but no fresh fruit, which I didn't mind. Breakfast was served at a roof terrace with lovely views, I really enjoyed my morning coffee there. I would gladly stay at Colonna Palace again and I recommend it to single travellers or couples on vacation.

One particular member of staff could have been a bit more polite, others were great.

Location is perfect! Very close to everything, very save for a solo woman traveler. very friendly staff, any problem I had they fix it right away. Shower was great - strong flow and hot water.

It is a a spring mattress and I felt them in my back which bother me to sleep. The room is smaller than the picture, got a bit disappointed at first especially that it was so expensive but I was out all day so I didn't notice it afterwards.

Good location, nice lobby and personnel.

Some of the rooms are a bit dated. Since it is locatef in front of the parlament, there is a lot of police outside. Probably very safe though, but you have to ask to pass fences. A little bit to walk from where the taxi could stop.

Excellent location, spacious room, quiet and the great view from breakfast balcony.

There is no free water in the lobby\reception that is very basic especially during the hot summer days. The water pressure in the shower could be better (5th floor).

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was a very good size, especially when you consider that this Rome. The location, too was excellent, within walking distance of everywhere.

The breakfast was definitely not of a 4-star hotel. We were given a bread roll, croissant, one slice of ham and one thin slice of cheese each. I guess one coud ask for more but even 3-star hotels we have stayed in offered a much better breakfast. The room and bathroom could definitely do with more light. In the morning when there is natural light it's fine but in the evening it was too dark even to read. Also, the noise of the seagulls outside made it difficult to sleep.

The staff for the breakfast and the cleaning employees were excellent. The main office staff was very helpful if we had any concerns. We would recommend this hotel also, because it is very easy to walk to all the major sights. :)

Breakfast was ok. Not much choice but enough. Location was perfect, such that you could do one activity, come and have a rest, then do another. Very central. Room was much bigger than I expected. Bed was large. Good size bathroom with good shower pressure and good towels.

Pillows were hard, Wifi was iffy.

The location is amazing.

For what you pay and that it’s supone to be a 4 star hotel. The service is not that good. Grumpy receptionist. I asked for a taxi and she never told me I hay to wait for it outside. ( I just saw another guest waiting inside and the taxi men came in to pick them up, not me jaja ) We left the room and our flight was late so we had to wait in the lobby which is beautiful decorated and has tables for drinks. So we had a sandwich we wanted to eat before the flight, and literally they kicked us out to the heat !! The rooms need a little upgrade. The rug is old and smells. I had to take the shoes of to walk inside and not bring more dirt from outside to it.

The hotel is not very modern, rather "classic". This is a fact, not criticism. The location is interesting, as the hotel is guarded by police 24/7. Although in the middle of the city, the hotel is very quiet. The staff is helpful and friendly and very fluent in English. Pro tip: the Leonardo from the airport to the city costs 30€ (and a decently long walk on top of that) - the hotel offers a private transportation for 55€ - take it, it works and it is worth the money. The breakfast is not "bacon and eggs" but rather sweets, some cake and finally some marmelade and more cake.

There were a couple of power outages (30 minutes) during our stay - not really a problem, but the bathroom went dark during this.

the fact that it is opposite the Parliament was amazing, having a minibus full of police literally right outside the hotel door, combined with barricades stopping everyone walking near the entrance and 3-6 police at the barricades who only let hotel guests and politicians pass, makes this the safest hotel in Rome. the room had an amazing view over the piazza and the enormous obelisk, the rooftop had better views of over the city. its location was fantastic, right there in the middle of everything! delicious breakfast as well. the croissants and pastries were very tasty.

the rooftop "pool" looks aged, dirty and out of place. its more a baby-sized wading pool, or one to dip your feet in as its only ankle-deep. not being able to take your breakfast up the next flight of steps outside of the restaurant tables (and either eat on the outdoor tables or the cushioned chairs) was disappointing. the room was fairly noisy at night, with the sound of these birds screeching waking us up many times as they were very loud. as the room didnt have double-glazed windows, only single pane glass combined with wooden shutters, this could be improved upon.
