Hotel 55 Fifty-Five - Maison d'Art Collection

We booked airport transfer with them due to arrival at 21:00 & the driver didn’t show up. No reaction to calls/SMS. This can happen but hotel staff was not willing to help to get us to the hotel. No word about this at arrival either. Customer care looks different.

Location was central right on Via del Corso (although my room didn’t have a view) but it wasn’t noisey at night.

The breakfast choice could be improved, and the tables under the outdoor patio were not very clean.

Parking information is very misleading. As a tourist , we didn't know where the no car zone was beginning so when see parking is available in the hotel we booked straightaway but when arrived, had to find a parking which took us couple of hours. If i knew the hotel has parking for only local drivers who holds permit, i would've stay somewhere more convenient.

The location was incredible! Rooms were small, but comfortable and a 24 hour reception was excellent.

The walls are incredibly thin, I could hear people in the next room talking and coughing! It would also be good to have some more storage - there were no draws in the room, so the small room becomes cluttered quite quickly! The check-in process also took 20mins - I wonder if some of the paperwork could be done before? This could be a result of covid however.

The location was perfect for our city trip to Rome. Very central and on walking distance from most hotspots in the city. Upon arrival we got an upgrade to a bigger room. The room offered everything we needed. We appreciated the luxury of a big and comfy bed, large bathroom and plenty space to store our luggage. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had a pleasant stay. I really recommend this hotel if you want to safe on taxi fares to all the hot spots. The best restaurant in the city is only 1 minute walk from the hotel. Make sure to visit Life with the best food and wines in the city.

Room was very clean, location is great, nice balcony to a main street. Staff was very nice.

Room was too small. The room was actually not in the same building as the reception was. In order to get to it, we needed to walk 4 mins (300m) to another building.

The staff was very courteous and professional! Especially Francesco who checked us in. We arrived really late, past midnight, so it was nice to have someone kind and courteous at check in after travelling for over 24 hours. Also the lady at the breakfast service was so personable and kind. I don't know her name but she is from El Salvador. Always smiling and happy to help! The room was more spacious than. I expected. We have been to Rome before and typically the rooms are so tiny and outdated. Our room was spacious and new. Nice bathroom with spacious shower too.

The bed was extremely firm. If you like it then you are fine but there's no give. I sleep on my sides and I had bruised hips from it and I'm not skinny!! My husband complained aa well and he likes firm. Also the windows don't keep much noise out. And there was some sort of hammering every morning . I think they had construction in a wing of the hotel.

A very good breakfast; it would be perfect if scrambled eggs were real eggs instead of powdered ones. The hotel location is just outstanding. The staff is very solicitous and helpful, this really makes a difference. I really recommend the hotel.

The elevator is tiny and a busy hotel, so we often needed to use the stairs. The price is steep, but that's what you get due to the outstanding location. I miss the compressor minibars that get the beverage very cold; the one available doesn't cut it.

when i arrived i was a lttle underwhelmed. There is a tiny check in area and virtually no lobby.Our previous hotel had a large public area. I saw stairs leading upstairs and thought no, i can not carry my bags 4 floors. As it turns out they havea small (teeny) 3 person elevator but more importantly a bellman who delivered the bags. The staffis very friendly and the room was exactly like pictured. Once i adjusted my perspective , everything was great. Location was the best, so convenient to all sights of Rome!

When i checked in, i asked for 2 Keys and was told they are waiting on guests to check out and turning in their keys.It is not a key but the typical pass card most hotels issue. My previous experience , most hotels do not even collect them upon check out. Here , if you do not return upon check out , you are charged 10 Euros. And there is a City Tax which is noted but it must be paid in cash. The tax is 6 Euros per night per person. My tax was 36 euros so i gave the desk person 40 euros upon check out but they did not have change…we worked it out but a little strange that a 4 star hotel did not have 4 euro coins or bills. Little things like that are no big deal but just want to advise future guests.

The location is perfect, but that is definitely not the only perk of this hotel. The staff are attentive, the rooms comfortable and clean, and the breakfast, while not being out of the ordinary, is plentiful and diverse enough to cater to different needs. I believe that this is one of the best choices for this price.

If you are looking for a spacious hotel lobby, you will not find it here. Also, the elevator, as others have written, is quite ancient and relatively small, but it did function perfectly when we were there, you just need a bit of patience waiting for it. We were on the fourth and fifth floors, so opted to take the elevator on the way up, and usually walked down the nicely carpeted stairs.
