Hotel Escala Central del Norte

Traffic and public transport in Mexico City can be challenging, so I wanted a location close to the Northern Bus Station to be able to do some day trips north of the city. I also wanted to be close to the airport since I had a 6 am flight to catch. Also, since the hotel's location is walking distance from two or three different subway stations, and there is a direct bus route to Bellas Artes, it is easy to get to the center. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and super quiet overnight (it was facing the interior of the block, not the street). There was hot water with great pressure in the bathroom/shower. There was a big window I was able to open, with a territorial view towards the north. I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood. This is a basic budget hotel providing an excellent value for the money.

We were able to book 2 nights with an AMAZING deal online, and it did not disappoint. Firstly, it is a 5-7 minute walk from the North bus station (great for Teotihuacan, Tolantango via Ixmiquilpan) so that is wonderful. The bed were INCREDIBLY comfortable and huge, super clean with great pillows. The room was very spacious and the bathroom had hot water readily available! Our room also included a huge plunge bathtub which functioned as a jacuzzi! We didn't make use of it, but it was amazing to have the option :) The wifi worked phenomenally and the staff was always friendly. Great stay!

The only reason Escala didn't get a perfect score was the outlets. In our room there were very few outlets, and the ones available were HORRIBLY placed. Apart from the outlet in the bathroom area (far from the bed), every other option was basically blocked by the wall-mounted TV. Perhaps there were more outlets hidden, but in our search, we didn't find any :(

Very clean and well located to access the bus Terminal Norte. The room was very dark, which allowed for a good night's sleep. In terms of size both the room and bathroom were more than adequate. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. WiFi connection seemed stable, although i didn't use it for work purposes. There was a writing desk in the room with some small sofas. Food at the restaurant was good quality, and ok priced considering it is in a hotel. Staff were very attentive and everything was smooth.

Room lacked a minibar fridge, no natural light, to temperature control specifically for the room. (these are things i noted, although weren't such an inconvenience for me)

big room, comfy bed, fast internet. hot shower. Quiet at night.

the toilet sits right behind the gate so I had to walk around everytime .. no big deal tho. Restaurant opens at 9am which is a bit late. but there is delicious street food around the corner

The best of this hotel is the location to the bus station in the north of Mexico City. A very good place to catch the bus to San Miguel in the early morning.

I didn’t like the area, but the bus station is not far away from the hotel.

Clean and comfortable and secure. Nice huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub (which we didn’t have time to use unfortunately).

Our room was facing onto the busy street and you can hear all the traffic going by. Booking.com confirmation says pay on site but they automatically charged to card.

- Just down the street from Central Norte Bus Station and it's Metro station - Decent street food options nearby - Hotel room service and food is good -Good WiFi - Good shower

- No AC in the room makes the room stuffy during the summer months

- close to bus terminal - lot of places for streetfood in the area - traveled alone and had no problems when Walking through the area to find a Restaurant for breakfast

- the Street is very loud

Clean and comfortable for a couple nights. 10 minute walk to bus station. WiFi worked good.

Room is cold. No heat in January. I don't think there is ac in the summer. Not any restaurants close, only taco stands. Restaurant on property but not that great.

The staff was very accomodating, hotel was clean, quiet and the price was good.

It would be nice to have some tea, coffee or at least acces to hot water to make it.
