Holiday Inn Express - Mexico Basilica, an IHG Hotel

Nice place. Modern. Clean. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Huge room and extra-large bed. Breakfast is simple but delicious. I had asked for a quiet room and got what I had asked for, but ...

... despite a big window, there was hardly any daylight because the window looks onto a dark and tiny inner court, and as if this weren't bad enough, there is a plastic film all over the window which makes the room even darker. I wouldn't stay in one of these inner rooms again. The outside rooms get too much noise from a very busy street so for me those are unfortunately not an option either.

Breakfast was good. The staff was very accommodating in moving us to a quieter room. the first room was on the first floor right next to busy noisy street. We did not sleep the first night. They moved us to 3rd floor room that was quiet and we were able to sleep at night.

The bathroom had no bath mat for when you step out of the shower. I had to ask for another towel. They said they only provide one for each guest. I shower in the morning and when I get back at night, so I need more than one towel. The shower is pretty slippery. You might want to put some non slip adhesives, one day one of your guests will take a nasty fall.

The location is good, there are lots of shops nearby. It's a bit of a drive to get into the central area but the upside is it's close to the airport and the neighborhood has plenty of shops. The gym was great, one of the larger gym spaces I've seen and all the equipment including free weights are high quality. They have a cable machine, cardio, a rower. And I found the gym was empty during the day and usually only a couple of other guests in the morning or evening. You could spend hours in the gym without seeing anyone else! It's a great way to get in shape. The quality of the bedding was excellent. High quality mattress, nice sheets, and the some of the best pillows I've seen. Very large and firm pillows. It made for a great sleep. I found all the staff friendly and professional. The cleaning staff was easy to deal with, because I was often in the room working during the day they would schedule when to do the cleaning and always made sure it was done while I was out.

The breakfast was pretty good, but a bit more variety in the fruits or some of the other items would have been nice. I found the salsas they provided didn't have much spice, so the beans and salsa were a bit bland.

Its a good hotel in general. clean rooms and helpful staff.

their laundry service took over 40hours to get back to me despite them stating it would be back by 9pm the next day. i had a taxi booked to leave for the airport at 1130am and got my clothes back by 9am that same day after many calls to reception telling me it would be there the day before first at 7pm then at 9pm then at 1030 they told us it wasnt going to be until the next day. considering i paid nearly £80 for this service i would’ve expected it to be back on time at the very least. anyway my clothes were clean so no harm done but please communicate more if your service is delayed or at least keep to your stated times.

The location was perfect; close to several places we wanted to visit. The staff was very helpful and informative of everything we can do and advised us of areas to stay away from for our safety and that was very much appreciated. The breakfast was very delicious and loved the variety of options each morning.

There was only one night, our last night stay where we could hear other people's conversations and a small child next door crying that didnt let us sleep well... the sounds can be heard thru the restroom walls n thru the bottom of the front door.

The staff is simply great. Kind, knowledgable, and very attentive. I had made a mistake with my booking and they helped me right away, no fuss, just quick, kind, problem-solving action and within minutes I had a new reservation and new room. Taxi, everything arranged. Some even went out of their way to help me with a gift I needed to bring back home. Amazing.

The location, I was told, is a bit difficult, but I am not sure about it. The internet could be faster, but it's OK.

The breakfast options were wonderful! What a treat to start the day with so many options for breakfast! We were especially happy with the quality of the fresh fruit and yogurt but all of the other morning options were perfect too!

The location isn't perfect but the fact that it is only a 15 - 20 minute ride to the airport is great! The fact that there is a high end restaurant right next door is a bonus too!

The Bed was top notch! Size of room was what i thought very big and great value for money. Shower was fantastic.

Only thing i can think of was at check in at midnight, due to travel day after check in which was easy, we went up too room 4th floor and electronic room key didn't work. This has happened to me over the years so often it just seems part of traveling and have to deal with it. So of course have to get back to front desk and rekey the card. But at midnight when tired it is just a little more frustrating (part of traveling i guess).

This hotel is so clean and safe. The location is excellent. Breakfast buffet delicious 😋. Jonathan the driver is the best if you need to go anywhere. He is very knowledgeable of areas of interest. Alma the front desk clerk is so knowledgeable. My 5th visit to this hotel. My only regret is that i can't take the incredible bed on the plane home. I will certainly use this hotel again.

I would like to say that I requested a taxi from the hotel to the airport and I left my new Iphone in the cab, immediately someone lent me his phone and I contacted the hotel staff and they contacted Johanatan the taxi driver who immediately came back to the airport to give me the phone back, he was awesome and so kind!!!! Higly recommend using the taxi service from the hotel and especially this taxi driver who was very honest!
