Hotel Diligencias

The staff was excellent! Very attentive and friendly. Location was very good. Located just one block from a metro station and with a bus stop right in front of the hotel getting around was very easy!! Several convenience stores located just around the corner and restaurants as well. It's a nice modern building with clean rooms and a convenient on-site restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great value for the price!

The rooms are a bit small, no problem for someone traveling solo, but for a couple it may seem a bit tight. However, with as much as there is to explore and see in Mexico City, you shouldn't be in the room much anyways! The bed was quite hard, but tolerable.

What more can I say that I haven't already said before. I've lost count of the number of times I've stayed at Hotel Diligencias. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There's ample hot water, one needs to temper it with cold water. The room is large enough for my needs. There is a closet with several hangers (always a major plus in my book). The location is spot on. The bus stops right outside the hotel is perfect for going to/from the International Airport. Linea 4 buses service these stops. Make sure to state which terminal you need to get to; some of linea 4 buses do not go there. The bus stop for the main bus terminal (Central Camionera Norte) is a couple blocks away on Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas (the major cross street to Belisario Domínguez). So too is one of the Metro stations. Zócalo (main square) de la ciudad de México is within minutes walking distance from the hotel as are several attractions, museums, shops, restaurants, etc. I find the Consomé de pollo and ensalada (chicken consommé & salad) to my licking.

I am saddened by the homeless people who have taken over the Plaza de la Concepción. They have trashed the place; my room looks out onto the plaza.

The room was clean, cleaned nicely every day. Free bottle of water every day. Staff were helpful and spoke good English and location is very close to the historic centre.

Our room looked out onto the square next to the hotel and a lot of locals are there every night till early morning listening to music and drinking. We’re not light sleepers, but with the window open it did wake us up several times. When the windows are closed it is a bit better, but then we needed to keep the ceiling fan on cause it was so warm.

Generally clean, a bit dated, but fits the price range. For a few nights to sleep over it’s a good value offer. The hotel is few blocks away from the ‘main’, busy streets.

Nothing unexpected. There’s the square next to the hotel, which was occupied by homeless. Walked past few times and had no problems. Obviously I wouldn’t wonder out on foot in the night time (either this or other areas), but that’s just common sense safety.

Loved the location! Perfect walking distance to everything. Nice room, cleaned daily. Victor the desk clerk was always happy to help

Noise. The stairs & elevator are center and all the rooms circle it. Tile floor makes a great conductor for sound. Victor moved me to an exterior room, street Noise. Hotel on the bus route. Found an app for fan Noise and used it to block out sound

This hotel is very close to Bellas Artes, Plaza Garibaldi, and Zocalo, so it will be easy to go to these places walking.

The hotel is located in downtown, so as in every big city, staying downtown allows you to get a different perspective of the city with all its nuances, so you will find a lot of homeless people around at all times. It does give a feeling of insecurity, but nothing really happened to us during our 4-day stay.

The rooms are clean, location is close to main attractions. It’s 10 min walk from Madera avenue / Cathedral. Walking back to the hotel around 9PM Sunday felt rather safe, police parked every few blocks.

Probably a one off, but there was some strange residue (blueish) on the bathroom floor, most likely from a cleaning agent. So after taking few steps barefoot the feet got covered with it.

Many people said the area is not so nice, but I disagree. It is only few minutes walking distance from the Zocalo, the Alameda Central and the Plaza Garibaldi. During the day it feels perfectly normal, at night there were some homeless people around, but nobody bothered us. I think this is normal for such a big city and there are even worse areas. The Hotel is quite modern, has everything you need including a 24 hour reception with very helpful staff. For this price what you get is really good!

It looks nicer and more modern on the pictures, but for the price and location it is ok.

Smart, clean hotel in great location for historic centre. Staff are exceptional, speaking enough English to help us out and allowing us to store our heavy bags until the evening of our flight. Gustavo in the restaurant was particularly friendly and made us feel very welcome. Room service available for small charge, rooms cleaned every day, large comfortable bed, fan, super bathroom with shower, nice windows overlooking the park next door. Ten minute walk to central square (Zocalo). Very clean and tidy and cool.
