Hotel MX garibaldi

Lovely hotel. The room size was great! The window I stayed in was facing the building walls so it was quiet and the window had a matte finish so it was not too bright even during the day (it could be a negative point for some, however I worked on EU schedule during the night and slept during the day so it was perfect for me). The Night Shift girl Teresa was fantastic - we shared some good talks :)

1. Would be great to have a mini fridge and a kettle in the room. So strange they don’t provide those. 2. The walls are paper thin. 3. Some day staff members at the reception didn’t speak English

The facilities at this hotel are very good, the staff were very friendly and particularly accommodating when I needed to adjust the dates of my stay. The 24 hour check in is great and the bed was very comfortable.

This is a location known for being quite vibrant (Mariachi square) so you do expect the noise from outside, there was also some noise transfer from guests in the room next door, although nothing that some earplugs can't fix. This location is probably better suited to people who have travelled to Mexico City before.

We specifically stayed here to be near Garibaldi Plaza, which was great in addition to being walking distance to the zocalo and the historic center. The hotel is recently renovated and very clean, with super comfortable beds, a great breakfast which was included, friendly staff and a nifty digital concierge which was super helpful.

The only issue was that they are really trying to be earth friendly and have installed energy efficient lighting in the rooms but they really don’t provide enough light. A couple of reading lamps next to the bed would be helpful.

Very bed wi-fi, especially in our room, in lobby- worked intermittently. Lunch box breakfast, not bad, but it’s not normal breakfast, although we had free coffee machine in lobby. In our room, with a balcony, it was very noisy, especially in evenings and nights - very difficult to sleep.

The staff at MX Garibaldi were all exceptionally friendly, welcoming & helpful. We were impressed for example, that when I went to reception for help using our room safe, the maintenance man arrived back at our room before I did! Breakfast is a simple arrangement but nonetheless excellent value for money given that it was included in our room price.

The hotel is very centrally located, however it borders an area where caution is needed from a safety perspective. Visitors need to take extra care. That said, it is easy to book Ubers/taxis.

This property was in a really good location for getting around the city. You are only about 5 blocks away from the Bellas Artes museum. From there, you can easily walk to the Zócalo Plaza. There are a lot of tour companies there, but you can also ask the front desk about tours. They had brochures on the front desk. The staff was super friendly! Our travel plans were delayed one day, so we arrived one day late. I was able to message with them easily on Booking. We still paid for that night, which is totally understandable and expected. I was happy with how helpful and understanding they were. You are also close in access to public transport. We didn’t really need to use the Subway or buses, but if you need to/want to, it’s right there for you.

The light was a little dim in the rooms. It by no means affected our stay or comfort. A couple extra lamps would be helpful. Breakfast was served every day. There was plenty to eat, but it was the same breakfast every day. Again, that didn’t bother me. I am always happy to have the breakfast. I don’t really have any negative things to say. I was very happy here.

That ist what classical mexican Hotel 10 Minutes to historical centre by walk has to look like! The room was really clean and was cleaned daily, the breakfast was very tasty, the stuff very nice. Our room with balcony towards Plaza Garibaldi was absolutely amazing - if we wanted to, we could just open the door and be a part of night-live (with our small daughter we didn’t want to and it worked great too - thanks to double-window we didn’t hear anything).

It’s classic, is’s mexican-I know, but a little bit English at least at the reception would make this hotel even better. And maybe various breakfast from day to day.

Good value for money and nice staff. I got nice tips to visit the city centre from the front desk, I only stayed for a day and their recommendations were great!

Booking said that the hotel had a shuttle from the airport, I couldn’t find it and they didn’t reply to my queries about this so I just had to book a cab from the airport. This was one of the main reasons why I chose this accommodation in the first place, so I was disappointed. I’d suggest the hotel to check the info available on booking and clarify that the hotel doesn't have a shuttle from the airport but that they can send a cab for you and how to arrange that. Also, the room didn’t have any towels. I asked for one but they never brought any, not sure if the room was supposed to already have some or if you have to ask for them, but since I was only staying for a night I didn’t insist. My stay was good overall anyway.

This was a great option for a quick trip for us two helpless baby birds seeing Mexico City for the first time. We spoke little Spanish, but staff was always helpful and friendly across the language divide. There was a delicious breakfast every day. The humble building was decorated in a chic style. The doors led right onto a plaza that lead us to restaurants, shops, and daily mariachi performances. We were charmed by colorful lollipops left in our room by housekeeping, who were great. The price was super accessible too.

For the price, we didn't have grand expectations, but there were only a couple of negatives I would report, and they were forgivable. One was that our room did not have great lighting. Trying to do our makeup was difficult in the dim light, and there were no options for reading lights while we were in bed. The second was that there wasn't a view - our window looked out into a barren brick courtyard area, and we got little sunlight. The skylight covering the opening of this courtyard made the sound of the rain extra loud, and didn't offer a lot of air flow. The weather was pleasant when we were there, so this didn't matter much. Overall we were quite happy with our stay.

The place is very safe and its located on the old Mexico so you'll experience and see the authentic lifestyle and nice architectures around the area. Some people would tell you that Old Mexico is not safe to stay but this one is very safe since its located at the plaza. There's police 24hrs a day so you'll be good. There's pharmacy, ice cream shops, bakery, bars and restaurants around the area. A lot of street vendors too! The rooms are big and beds are so comfortable. We'll definitely come back! The only thing I didn't like is their WIFI its so slow and you cannot rely on it but for the cost of the stay its a good deal since breakfast is included.

the WIFI is very slow and you cannot depend on it. If internet is a big deal for you make sure your international plan is on so you don't need to rely on their WIFI.
