Catalonia Catedral

The hotel is perfectly situated right next to the Barcelona Cathedral in the heart of the Gothic quarter + it’s like a 15 min walk to Barceloneta beach. The area is busy however thanks to the good sound isolation, once the windows are closed, no noise comes through to the room. Every day with the windows open, we could hear the guitarist from the plaça nova nearby, which was lovely (we had room 322 with the windows giving on to the street). There is a pool on the rooftop, which is pretty small and knee-deep but still a nice refresher after a day of exploring. There was a rain shower + a shower bath in our room, both with strong water flow, and generally the bathroom is very bug and spacious. The bed is HUGE with 3 pillows per person which is awesome :) The breakfast was a bit costly (20€/person) so we took it only once but it has many options like croissants, cereals (with a big choice of quality jams), fried eggs, salmon, jamon. The cleaning services did an amazing job every day of our stay and replenished the bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, gel and lotion) daily. It was also my birthday so the hotel gifted us with a bottle of cava, thank you!

Just some small things to improve that didn’t spoil our stay at all: - no toilet brush in the bathroom - the hairdryer is really weak and kept turning off (so take your own hairdryer if possible) - in order to open/close the window, you need to ask someone from the reception to come up to your room for security reasons

The property was clean, fresh and in a brilliant location. Central to La Rambla, walking distance to placa de Catalunya for bus services and Uber’s. The hotel is situated in the middle of the Gothic Quarter and has plenty of access to bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It’s situated right outside Barcelona Cathedral with a family feel within the square. Excellent service from the staff and especially the guy that works on the rooftop bar and pool, very accommodating and kind.

The breakfast was buffet with a great choice. This is a small hotel but they provided everything that we needed including a small rooftop pool with bar. Step outside the hotel door & and you are in the Cathedral square. So close to the tourist information centre from which we took a tour around the Cathedral area. I highly recommend this 2hr tour. It's also 5 mins from the Piccaso museum which is another must see. The staff were very friendly & helpful. On arrival we were given a thorough breeding about our room & the hotel facilities which was very helpful. The staff spoke good English which was also helpful. We booked a day tour to the Costa Brava Called Girona&Costa Brava small group tours which was well worth doing if you have time. We enjoyed the samm group, I great personal service of the guide the beautiful city of Gerona plus the 4 hrs at the beach. On a hot day. The tour was through In Out Barcelona. The hotel booked us a cab to the airport which was a cheap transfer, very clean & comfortable with an easy pick up in a busy area.

To start, we had a surprise upgrade to the terrace room which has direct access to the rooftop pool so this is based on that upgrade. The staff were all lovely and easy to talk to, they helped us organise an early morning taxi and special mention to Tino at the pool bar. The location is fantastic, we walked to all major attractions and neighborhoods and it was great to dip in the pool after a long day. The bedding is very comfortable and bathroom was clean with great water pressure in shower. The Smart TV is a nice addition.

The free WIFI wasn’t always working well

We booked the deluxe room with private terrace and private pool. I messaged the hotel before my visit to request help in arranging some balloons as a surprise for my husbands special birthday surprise. They were discreet and organised and even added some free items such as chocolate and champagne. We were treated very well and when we checked out on the last day, we returned as our flight was cancelled and the staff made it clear that we could sit inside the hotel for as long as we need to and we're welcome to leave our luggage safely at the hotel. Thank you to the staff who made our stay an incredible experience. Five star service!

It was perfect! The only pain was that one of the lifts were out of order, and we had to get two lifts up to our floor as the first lift only goes up to floor 1. Was not an inconvenience for us, but if we had walking difficulty it may have been an issue.

Friendly and extremely helpful staff whether in reception, in the restaurant or bar, or in housekeeping. Large spacious bedroom/living area on 5th floor. Good location. Good breakfast included with good variety. Large comfortable bed, ginormous pillows, 80 inch TV. Comfortable lounge with two separate chairs. Good bathroom, rain shower, great towels, adequate toiletries. Bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Adequate storage for clothing

Some difficulty in finding as taxi driver did not speak English. No carpet, wood floors throughout

The hotel was very nice, the location was perfect. The staff was so friendly, and they have a really great bar-tender - Tino who makes the best cocktails ever. breakfast was also very nice.

The sheets weren't clean when we got in and they changed them once I asked, not something massive just some spots that didn't come off on laundry but still... And also the shower wasn't great, the water temperature wasn't steady, and changed from hot to cold alone during the shower. Also, I could hear the street noise from my room, although not very strong, I could hear people all day long.

The hotel was centrally located in the old city of Barcelona. It was around the corner from the Cathedral and a short walk to Las Ramblas, with its many shops and restaurants. Our room on the fourth floor was beautifully appointed, with a separate tub and shower in the large bathroom. It had a very private terrace with a plunge pool, lounge chairs, and a table for drinks and snacks! It was somewhat chilly the night we were there, but with warmer temperatures, one could go skinny-dipping, if so inclined! The bed was very comfortable, and the furnishings were modern in style. They reminded us of our room in the Parador in Leon. Breakfast was generous and ample, with many delicious options for every taste. There was an elevator for people and suitcases, and a larger swimming pool for guests. The staff were attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. My husband and I thought this hotel was an excellent value; a four-star hotel at the time we visited that equaled some of the five-star hotels we have frequented in Europe. We highly recommend this hotel!

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Under the leadership of David, we felt safe and well taken care of during our stay. Had some problems with our luggage due to airline’s fault and with the hotel staff’s assistance, it was resolved smoothly. The hotel looked good from the street, conveniently located and it was a great start to our 2-week holiday in Spain. Oh we had a great lobster boiled rice dinner at the restaurant on level 1 of the hotel and totally enjoyed it. The staff there were equally professional and helpful 👍🏻

It will be good if the room had free water throughout the stay (instead of just one bottle) and also tissue paper.. but I think it may not be the practise here in Spain, so we managed our expectations on this matter. It’s not a major issue since the good service more than compensate for that
