Hotel Neri – Relais & Chateaux

Location was amazing. Tucked away in an historic building in the middle of Gothic Quarter. It was magical. My room overlooked courtyard with school and church. Spent a lot of time watching tour groups in courtyard (church has civil war history) and children playing. I spent extra for a junior suite as I stayed over a week and wanted to have the space to be comfortable. Worth every penny. Room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. Ordered room service one night and it was quick and delicious (hamburger). Highly recommend hiring private tour guide (1:1) through hotel. My tour guide's name was Connie. I hired her 3 different times. I booked all my tickets through hotel. You pay extra for the convenience.

Restaurant service was sometimes slow. Only 1 waiter working at times but he did his best and was attentive and very friendly once he had time to focus on my table. Reception was also concierge. They did a great job but there was a line at times if people were checking in. I recommend the hotel hiring a separate concierge during busy hours.

Excellent location if you want to be in the heart of Barcelona. This is a relatively small boutique hotel so might not be for everyone but it is housed in a beautiful old villa with very well appointed public rooms. It is tucked away and a little hard to find although we regarded both of those things a real positives. It has a well stocked bar and a well set out restaurant. The rooms are fairly large and are finished to a high standard. Ours had a second bath out on the balcony ! The whole place is a really lovely sanctuary from the bustle of La Rambla relatively close by. Very friendly staff especially Thomas.

Nothing. We liked all aspects of our stay and would like to go back. One thing perhaps is that it is not easy to get to in a taxi but the right taxi drivers seem to have no problem making sure they approach from the right direction.

Location was great - perfect for exploring the Gothic quarter and getting around to the other sites in Barcelona. The public areas of the hotel area are very charmingly designed and welcoming. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were very well appointed, clean and well designed. The bed was comfortable - only issue was the the pillows were too hard. Breakfast was good - great coffee. Would definitely stay at the Hotel Neri again.

Only complaint was that the bed pillows were not comfortable.

Cosy decor and charming old Palace. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The bellman was maybe overly enthusiastic but many people love that. They honestly were really helpful. My bathroom was beautiful, with stone features and slate walls. They had plenty of bath amenities from Molton Brown.

The lack of facilities. No parking, no gym, the closest one was a 20 minute walk, not convenient and one still has to pay to use it. My bed had a trench in the mattress. I asked them to replace it but they just padded it. I was only there for 2 nights so I survived. I asked several times for a feather pillow, but it never came. The air-conditioning was placed so it blew straight on to me while sleeping. I turned it of and used the odd balcony door. The balcony had a bathtub outside on it which the neighbours could view easily, it was strange. A hot tub would have made more sense. And breakfast was not very good. But again the staff were lovely

We stayed at Hotel Neri for our Honeymoon and it was perfect. It’s tastefully decorated and right in the middle of the gothic quarter. The staff was incredible and helped us get tickets to sites and museums, find a bar to watch the women’s World Cup final at, and make dinner reservations during our stay. They gave us great recommendations for what to do and where to eat. Everyone was so kind and helpful. we would absolutely recommend!

The hotel staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly especially the front desk and Thomas the doorman who was fun and knowledgeable about the city. The hotel is in the gothic quarter which is very atmospheric and it is easy to access transport to other areas to see the sites. There are lots of fantastic little tapas restaurants within walking distance too. We particularly liked the hotel decor.

The property is beautiful - great pool - lovely bar, restaurant, lobby - staff at reception was excellent - all but one wait staff were great - again, loved the pool!

The room, for the price, was small with storage for clothing tight and the view was nice but not a spectacular sea view. One staff person at the outdoor bar was challenging/grumpy.

Beautiful hotel. Bed, pillows and sheets were very nice. Excellent location. Staff was extremely helpful and engaging. The bar made great cocktails. Enjoyed the rooftop to relax

Lotion in the bathroom. There were lovely hair products, bar soap and an oil but would have preferred a lotion instead of the oil.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. A calm oasis in the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. Staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make our stay special and seamless. Restaurant was also very good with tables in a beautiful square. Would definitely go back.

Great period property, great location. Rooms were good quality and clean.

The dining area and bar was far too dark, though out the whole day and evening. I know there was mood lightning but for breakfast you needed a table light and at dinner we had to use phones to light up menu.
