The history of the ship and the cleanliness

There is this Indian woman working there. Who is prioritizing only Indian guests. I was already seated on the table near the window and i was asked to move to other table saying someone will be sitting there.

The staff were pretty awful. Checkin was a nightmare and so slow. Receptionist was pretty unhelpful. We had 2 and 1 year old children and she tried to put our rooms far away from each other. So odd. Ate in the hotel at night in the main restaurant and the service was horrific. Took forever to order and then forever to deliver food. Only two restaurants were open and one of them was so smoke filled (inside the ship and no ventilation) that you couldn’t eat there. There was a lot to see on the ship and from a historical point of view it was a cool experience and we didn’t pay a huge amount so the other issues didn’t bother us so much. Room itself was big and comfortable.

What do we like about our stay? ✅️ Most of the hotel staff (in arrival/lobby/front desk) are very professional, welcoming and accommodating. Special mention to a Filipina from the Front Desk name Mary. She is soft-spoken, welcoming, and professional. She gave us a ROYALLY service. We booked the Deluxe Room for 2 nights, then we ended up staying in Captains Room. Kudos to Mary👏👏 ✅️ The lobby is grand, well lit. And has seating area with shelves full of books (according to the tour, all the books in every shelves are the books originally from QE2 when it was still cruising. It has a stammped of Cunard Lines. ✅️ Our room (Capt. Room 8107) is spacious, with 2 big windows facing the city view. It also has a comfy sofa and an office table. ✅️ Our bed is so comfy whenever my husband and I lay down, we felt so relaxed after a long day of touring. ✅️ Room Ameneties. There are 4 bottles of 500ml water in the room, there's toiletries (but we always bring our own) and room slippers. ✅️ Light controls are pretty much accessible via bedside table. ✅️ AC system is superb. Provides enough cooling to make the stay more relaxing and comfortable. ✅️ Wifi Connection is available, free, no password, and has a decent speed ✅️ To fully immerse ourselves with our stay, we also include the breakfast at Lido Restaurant. They have a decent range of Ala Carte breakfast to choose from. My husband and I opted for Full English breakfast which is very filling. ✅️ We tried their dinner menu. We ordered one for each of the following below plus 2 canned cola and 2 water bottles. We pay 254aed. 🍝 Seafood Pasta with additional chicken. Pasta is Al Dante which we prefer. White sauce is just the right amount of sauce coating every pasta. Spices and toppings compliment everything. 🍕 Margherita Pizza. With a little crunch on the crust. The tomato sauce is a little sweet to taste that compliments the mozzarella cheese and the basil. 🍵 I ordered a bowl of broccoli soup.

Aside from a comfy and relaxing stay. We also looking forward for clean room and facility. Since the pandemic has started, we bring our own bath towel and face towels. But, in our stay with QE2 we decided not to. ❗️ We are not expecting a perfect-immaculate white bath towels. But, at least stained free. One of the bath towels provided has a visible 2 spots of brown stain when we unfold it. So we decided not to use it. ❗️Faucet handles. I do understand that there are some markings that cannot be removed. But, to see a leftover soapy water bead up and dries out marking on one handle, then a visbible fingerprint on the other is a big No-No for us. ❗️Low water pressure in the shower.

We loved how the ship has kept it's identity and features, it has been respectfully renovated and was a pleasure to stay in and explore. The breakfast area has a lovely view and the food is plentiful, fresh and tasty. Thank you especially to Lucy who made our check in very special as she took time to interact with our young daughter and recognised her birthday.

I wouldn't change a thing. We wanted the QE2 experience and we got what we hoped for.

It was an special experience which cause you feel you are in a middle of some movie or feel as an a person who travels by ship.

Although we saw inthe pictures that travelers use from outside part and balcony, There is no terrace and balcony to use for travelers. And enter to all terrace was forbidden. And it was the really important weak point of staying there.

The staff were absolutely brilliant particularly when under the pressure of UAE day when QE2 was very busy. Mr Furghal Manager of QE2 is a charming gentleman whom attributed to our most amazing experience with an upgraded room on Deck8 forward. As we stayed a week. This is truly a spectacular historical vessel and she has daily tours which gave a remarkable insight of life on board presenting much of her idiosyncrasies. We must all help to give this beautiful ship the greatest longevity as possible by staying aboard her a while. She is positioned so appropriately for those passengers starting/finishing a cruise in Port Rashid. And peacefully clear of the hussel and bustle of downtown Dubai. The buffet breakfast was incredibly diverse, the coffee divine! Pity many of the cruiselines aren't able to reach the standard of QE2, try the pastries too.

Not terribly easy to negotiate passage around the ship as she is full of particular character of the1960s, pity few of the lifeboats(now removed) couldn't be located on the quay nearby.

it's the QE2! What more is there to say? The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a great museum at the terminal. The room was updated and and didn't show many signs of its age. Our breakfast was excellent but the prices were reasonable. They were upfront about some restoration work ongoing but it didn't affect our stay.

The gym and was several floors down...possibly below the water line. Very hard to find, too. There was some restoration going on so maybe there's plans to put these facilities somewhere with windows.
